We took a taxi from the airport to get to this hotel, but the train station is literally outside the hotel. It is somewhat tucked away in a small square, but it was not hard to find. There was a 7-11, Lawson and Starbucks very closeby. Additionally, there was an Anytime Fitness facility just above the hotel in the same building and as long as you are a member, you can get access to those facilities (i did). The hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I liked that our rooms were separated. I also liked that the air conditioner worked well and that the room included an air filter. It was a perfect stay for our first hotel in Tokyo. I loved the shower room and the water pressure in the shower room was really good.
The rooms were a bit small and halls are a bit harrow, but it wasn't too bothersome. There wasn't much counter space in the bathroom either, but again, minor things and not major inconveniences.

The hotel was located just around the corner from the Keio Line Sasazuka train station. It is just one stop from Shinjuku on one of the express lines -so very convenient. There were so many coffee shops, restaurants, and convenience stores located just outside the entrance. We booked the 2 room suite which was perfect for my husband, daughter, and I. We were able to do our laundry, drying our clothes with the heater function in the bathroom.
The one and only thing that didn’t work was the kettle. But we didn’t even say anything because there were so many coffee shops around and we just used a pot and boiled water on the stove.

This was my second time booking at Kario Sasazuka! While it wasn’t as amazing as my previous time staying here, it was still a good stay! The pros of this hotel are the location (very close to the heart of Tokyo, but is more calm and a bit less touristy), and the fact that it’s really like your own apartment (if you’re an independent person that likes to come and go as you please, this your place!). The hotel is also very clean and safe with many appliances and basic necessities provided (stove, AC, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, washing machine, electric tea kettle, etc.). If you want a no-frills apartment that is clean, with a great location, then this is a nice choice.
They used to offer temporary luggage storage before check-in and after check-out (it’s even mentioned in the FAQs here on Booking.com); however, this is no longer the case. This was very disappointing especially since I had mentioned needing this service as soon as I had booked, and only on the day of my check-in (when I messaged to notify them of me dropping off my luggage) did they say it was no longer possible. The sheets in the room were also a bit scratchy and the interior was slightly more lackluster than my previous experience at this hotel (this was my second time booking here). Still, not a bad hotel at all! These few things are just areas of improvement. I would still recommended the hotel.

The location couldn't have been more perfect. It's adjacent to a train station so there are a ton of shops, restaurants, convenience stores and malls within a 2-3 minute walking distance. It's also a couple minutes walk to the train station that can get you to Shinjuku in no time. We loved the location because of its conveniences, but yet, it's not as insanely busy as more popular touristy areas such as in Shimbuya or Shinjuku yet within an easy access to them. The place we got was enough for 5 people, and had everything including a kitchen, and a washer. We felt that we were renting an apartment. And regarding cleanliness, everything was spotless and Japan-grade clean and felt safe. We didn't have issues walking around at 4AM with the kids. Thank you for a great stay!
The place, ceilings, doors etc are all tiny and small for an American, but this is very typical of Tokyo apartments so we got used to it and learned to like it very quickly.

Being right next to a train station doesn't sound great but it really was. The noise wasn't really an issue. There's plenty of places to get food right there, and access right onto the train network is wonderful for setting Tokyo. The apartment is fairly small but completely adequate for a family of 4. It has every thing you need. There's no dining table but the more coffee table next to the couch was fine for our breakfast pastries.
The doors are not made for westerners- 180cm tall (just under 6foot). I am well above that so the top of the frame was in my eye line so I ducked every time. My son is 6ft tall and hit his head several times. I found it funny every time. The staff have very limited English but will type messages for you onto a translator app which is fine - it's me not speaking Japanese in Japan that's the real issue.

This was a spacious and comfy apartment for our family of 5. It was really clean and well appointed. We enjoyed having a bath tun to soak in of an evening and also having a washing machine and the drying room to get washing done and dried quickly was awesome. We ate out the whole time - but it was handy to have a kitchen for making tea and a fridge to store drinks and snacks and ice creams! We thought the location was awesome it wasn’t too touristy but super easy to get to Shinjuku (1 stop) and Shibuya and all the other popular places around the city via train. We also enjoyed walking to and from Kitazawa and we also walked one day to a Harajuku. The hotel staff were friendly and very communicative via booking.com message and we were able to organise our luggage to be shipped from our hotel in Kyoto to here as a result which was awesome and super convenient. We really enjoyed our stay in Sasazuka and would totally stay at this apartment hotel again if we come back to Tokyo. Thank you!

The facilities are brand new and very clean. The space was compact but not cramped for us. There were plenty of outlets. The table was bigger than some other places. The kitchenette was fine although we didn't really use it much except for the refrigerator. The bathroom had separate spaces for the toilet (sliding door), wash basin and washing machine, and for the shower/bathtub. The lighting was good and the controls easy to use. The one little thing I wish they had was a shower curtain. There was a shower rod, just no curtain. Very livable space (since I believe the building was originally apartments that were converted into hotel rooms). The building is very secure (you need to use the fob of the key to access the building and the elevator, plus the door to the space has two deadbolt locks, not just one. The facilities are a stone's throw from the station gates, and there are stores and restaurants all along the station building and the surrounding area. It was super convenient. Sasazuka is a small area but very nice.
As mentioned, just a shower curtain. While there's a reception desk, it seems that often there is no one there except when a guest is checking in or out. When you go out and there's no one there, it's a little disconcerting, but they are very responsive to messages and will come to the front desk when you have business with them. Since we only stayed a couple of nights, we don't know how responsive they are if you request more towels and cleaning and such or any possible costs involved.

This place is in the heart of it! Each morning was a 1 minute walk to coffee & bakery. The train station was right there which made daily outings a breeze. Kitchenette & clothes washer were fantastic to have.
We couldn’t find the entrance when we arrived in the rain, it is tucked into a corner of a small plaza. When I called to ask for guidance, the language barrier made it difficult to get clarity but when we figured it out, the staff were outside looking for us! We had a double bed and a sofa bed for our teen which was not very comfortable.

I had a great stay at Kario Sasazuka Terrace! I booked a little bit last minute, so I wasn't expecting my hotel to be perfect, but I honestly loved it!! It was super clean and tidy (and I can be particular about this) with all of the essential amenities like a washing machine, electric tea kettle, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, AC, heating, etc. It felt like my own little apartment! I also really liked how it was basically at Sasazuka station, so it was easy to get around the city. Shinjuku is literally one stop away! It was quieter than Shinjuku though, so it was perfect to come back to and crash after a day of exploring. The bed and pillows were very comfortable as well. They even had a binder type thing in the room, in English, that told you how to use things like the AC, and little tips about Japan/Japanese culture. The staff were also very nice and even stored my luggage for a couple of hours for me before I left for my flight! All in all, a perfect stay and experience. Thank you! :)

I highly recommend Kario Terrace. We stayed for 11 nights in August as a family of 4 from London. The location was excellent - just metres from the train station and 2 stops from Shibuya. There is a shopping centre in the train station with everything you’ll need locally - supermarket, drug store… Uniqlo! Quirky little streets locally with an abundance of independent restaurants to explore. We felt very safe and it was quiet so we all slept well. The apartment was spotless and had everything we could have possibly needed including washing machine, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer, basic cleaning materials and kitchen ware, induction hob and a microwave. It was perfect for a family of 4 (two teenagers), much more spacious than we expected. In addition to our double bedroom there were twin beds in a separate area of the living room that could be partitioned off easily at night. Beds were comfee and linen and towels were fresh and soft. The staff were really helpful when we arrived. We were early so left cases with staff in the basement and did some shopping. When we came back to check in he had kindly taken our cases to the apartment for us. The bathroom was onsen style with a power shower and deep tub/wet room. I was really pleased that the bathroom could be used as a drying room for clothes and a hanging unit was also provided. The control panel can be set to drying and a full machine load of clothes are dry within the hour. We packed lightly so this was incredibly helpful. I have attached a Google translate image of the control panel as a top tip! It was really pleasant to step into the cool, fragrant Kario terrace reception after a long hot day sightseeing and shopping.
I’d be hard pushed to find anything - not for the price that we paid, anyway! Perhaps a stool for the bathroom so we could sit to onsen as we have learned in Japan!
