Nice not having to use a key to get in and out. Place was clean, and about a two minute walk from Hatagaya station. Shower pressure was superb. Host was responsive. The restaurant/business recommendation list they sent was handy. Hatagaya is a quiet, local, chill respite from actual Shibuya.

Only the bare essentials. Location was close to the station but annoying to have to take Keio New Line. Not really Shibuya. Room was small - definitely a squeeze for two even with the double bed.

Yui was an amazing host. Due to an unforeseen circumstance on the property side, our original booking which was made at this accommodation could not be honoured but he messaged us early on and proactively to help move us to his alternative property, Port House Hatsudai. The property is very clean, cosy and they provide toiletries, tea and coffee. Easily accessible via train. Once again, the shining star goes to the host because his navigation and check-in instructions + recommended food guide are great personal touches.

Both Port House Shibuya and Hatsudai are technically located in Shibuya but it does take some train transit time to reach both properties. This isn't really an issue as they are both still very central and located in cosy residential areas, just an FYI for future bookers that it's not at The Scramble area or anything!

Convenient location next to Hatagaya station. Can also walk to Shinjuku with some city views on the way. Homely atmosphere from the entrance, and even with a three-floor hotel it had an elevator. Large living space upstairs with microwave, TV, kettle, sink, food, and some other things useful for a trip. Coin laundry downstairs. Free luggage storage for arriving and departure days. Very quiet despite being in a somewhat busy area.

Small room, small bathroom. Seems to be the situation in Tokyo generally. The bathroom sink was next to the beds. Interesting arrangement but we soon got past that.

Elevator is nice. Two washing machines (real ones not coin op 500yen per wash). Completely keyless access. Close to the station. Lots of eats open late. McDonald's across street. Fried chicken Joint right downstairs. Joint use area with a deck on 3rd floor 24hr access. Nice AC. Try the ramen a block down towards station (Get the small! Portions are huge.) Can't wait to come back. Camera security in all the public areas including hallways gives you piece of mind. Free shampoo, soap, shaving cream, razors, shower cap, lotions, etc.

There was a slight musty smell I think do to the proximity to the alleyway. Bathroom Is extremely compact, for larger folks could be a cramped. No bidet. Many of the patrons had stinky shoes and the entrance area did smell a bit. Please know that you will be asked to leave shoes at entrance. Small nitpicks nothing that is a deal breaker for me. Just some things maybe the host could try to improve on.

Room was clean, comfortable and even had a desk and chair. The facilities were awesome- full kitchen, tea making and microwave, and washing facilities if needed as well. And I was pleasantly surprised there was an elevator! The location was very handy: train nearby, shops and food options.

Nothing about the accommodation whatsoever. Hatagaya Station is on a private rail line (Keio New Line) so although it goes to Shinjuku in 2 stops, be aware the Keio stop is completely separate from the JR part of Shinjuku Station and quite a walk between them, which is not very suitcase friendly in parts and lifts have long queues at busy times.

Nice hotel with minimalist rooms with individual bathrooms, small but everything you need. Daichi, the manager who lives on site, is very kind, helpful and speaks English very well. A shared kitchen-dining room space with a stove, a fridge and tableware will allow you to cook whatever you like, tea and coffee is available. There is a pleasant rooftop terrace as well, on which you can smoke as long as you discard your cigarette butts. Luggage storage available (though not under surveillance).

Unfortunately, the towels didn't smell very good. If I may I also suggest adding a few more clothes-hangers in the room, as there is nort much storage available.

-The location was ideal as it was a 2 min walk to Hatagaya Stations (bus and train) -Near FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, and a grocery so you don't have to worry about food and essentials -Area was in the quiet side of Shibuya -Common area served as a space to eat your meals (takeout) and quickly cook/reheat them if needed. They also had free water -Room was clean and bed was comfortable -Enough sockets to charge devices (4-6 sockets) -As an introvert, I like how everything was a self-service from check-in, putting luggages to storage room as I had to do early checkout, and check-out

-Toilet did not have a bidet or was not heated but it was okay

If you are staying in Tokyo, this is an excellent place to stay at. You’ll definitely get what you’ve paid for. - Self check-in. - Few walks away from Hatagaya station accessible with both elevator and stairs ( a must when you have lots of luggages ) - Free hygiene kits everyday - There is a full pantry and avaialbe washing machine service. - Near a grocery store, there are lots of izakayas near the area and Ramen Butayama is few steps away

Easy to access, quiet. Small rooms as expected for Tokyo and the reasonable price, but exactly what we needed. Excellent compact shower/toilet in the room. Nice set up. Comfortable and clean. Hope to return.

I would buy a pair of slippers next time to take with me as I didn’t like using communal ones but understand now that this is normal for Japan. Other wise not a thing I can think of. Really appreciated the washer dryer with the honesty payment system. The instruction video was helpful.

Perfect location, really clean facilities, easy to find. Bed wasn't super comfortable, room was a good size especially for Tokyo. Location was amazing, would stay here again. Didn't meet the host but that is fine for us, had no issues getting in or knowing what to do.

The windows let in a bit of air, which also meant you could smell food being cooked outside. A night light would be nice, and somewhere to hang your towels. Bathroom is really small but was fine for us.
