nice old wrld type feel

we picked the hotel as it had a gym and pool but when we got there discovered it was 3000 yen a day to swim in the pool Would not go back as other hotels do offer a pool in the price it is a little out of the tokyo tourist trail - south of hte city - transport in tokyo is easy and it is only a 500 m walk to the subway and they offer a bus service which is quite regular

Room was comfortable and quiet, hotel has a very nice view and a private garden with a pond, staff knew English, was polite and helpful. Very good for Shabbat keepers - the hotel gave us a mechanical key and showed us how to use the stairs, housekeeping disconnected the washlet, and the bell captain showed us the way to the synagogue.

Unfortunately there is no freely available ice machine, you have to order ice up to the room via room service. We wanted to go tour the city and wanted some ice to cool us down, but the front desk could not help.

It had restaurants that serve really good meals. The hotel also offers shuttle bus to/from train station (Shinagawa in the morning) and to a closer train station til 10pm which made it very convenient. They also offer shuttle to Narita for a fee, just not to Haneda which is actually why I booked with them. It was not specified.

The hotel is old/outdated. The carpets and the room look old, the room is dark. For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a newer and better location hotel.

The lobby is beautiful and clean, and the room is spacious with very comfortable beds. All staff were exceedingly kind and helpful, despite a language barrier with my cousin who speaks zero Japanese.

Unfortunately, the gym and bath are for members only. This may not be unusual for fancy hotels, but it’s worth mentioning for guests who are used to such amenities being included in your stay. The Bamboo Lounge is gorgeous, but one seasonal cocktail runs you ¥2000 and a cup of coffee about ¥1500. It was worth it to enjoy the atmosphere, but be aware that this is the price tag you’re looking at. Surely it’s not an issue for tourists who are doing the USD to yen conversion, but it feels steep for those of us getting paid in yen.

Loved the room, how comfortable it was. Great blinds, testy breakfast, great commute to a busy JR station to and back from hotel when we were tired of the days amusement. Felt like an old hotel with good values of making sure the customer feels good in the room.

When booking, it was unclear that access to the pool and gym facilities were pay per use.

The ambient was very nice.

The room was very dark, you needed to switch on the light the hole day. I think it was because of the day curtains, that ones didn’t leave enough light in. You’d to pay extra if you wanna use the gym and pool. Therefore it is too pricey.

Staff were really friendly, especially the one who calls the taxi he's pretty funny.

The room was too hot, and I couldn't get the AC to work. I think it's because they turned the whole building AC off during winter. Pillows weren't that comfortable, but I managed to use the blanket instead as a pillow since I didn't need to cover myself when it was really hot.

We had such a nice time. The room was very nice, pleasant and the beds incredibly comfortable. The garden view and glazed windows made the room feel so peaceful close to nature but quiet and luxurious. The bath was nice and it felt great to don a snuggly robe after.
