The room and hotel are quiet and clean. The restroom and bathroom were nice. The bed was comfortable.

For the price, these accomodations should have been much better. It was not worth the money spent. You can find other places with a better value for the rate they charged for this room. Also, the service was spotty. They had a hard time even helping us find a shop for a hat, or a good place for ramen. When they did give us recommendations, they didn't tell us how to get there. And one of the places they sent us to was closed. Only certain higher level managers were competent. When I asked if I could give them some feedback, they said I should do it online. So I'm doing that now. They also never cleaned the room fully, leaving trash on the table and under the table for all four days there. I won't be back here unfortunately.

The hotel itself is the traditional style wing extension off the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa. It has it's own elevator and reception (within 8am to 10pm) separate from the main lobby. We loved the ryokan room. The amenities were five star. The sake available at happy hour exclusive to Hanakhoro guests is top shelf - that alone was worth the price for me. The breakfast buffet was also a five star experience with so many delicious options both Japanese and western. We had a traditional Japanese breakfast in the club room on the Hanakhoro floor one morning, too. It is a great experience but not for every palate, so read up on it before you do it. There's always the buffet breakfast just one floor below!

I was charged an additional 30,000 yen per night for my two kids. Presumably, that's because of their access to the buffet and other amenities, but it made the price of the room very expensive.

The service and guidance from Maki-san(club staff from fourth floor) were warm and charming. She provided us with immense help and a heartfelt welcome, making me eager to return. In particular, she went the extra mile to find information about the welcoming candy in our room, allowing us to purchase it from the shop.

During my last night’s stay at Takanawa Hanakohro on February 21, 2025, I noticed that the two staff members(club staff fourth floor) working the night shift did not demonstrate a professional level of service.

The shuttle bus service was convenient for travel between the hotel and Shinagawa station. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The buffet breakfast was great and being able to utilise the lounges throughout the different sister hotels by walking through the lovely garden was really nice.

The shower pressure was limited and the room cleaning service varied whereby one day it was good and another it would be done poorly. Some staff were also unfriendly and gave off an unwelcome vibe.

Hanakohro offered a peaceful and comfortable retreat where time and expenses were never a concern. Everything was taken care of, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy the experience, which included exploring the unique lounges, garden and buildings on the grounds. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding, making us feel at home.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The whirlpool bath in the Prince Sakura Tower was a great addition, and while the women's side bath felt a bit small and the interior could use some refreshing, it did not take away from the enjoyment of the stay.

Location-wise very close to a large train station, short walking distance. Staff were amazing at Hanakohro. Most of their staff can speak English and some especially good. Going beyond expectations with their services. Definitely a plus if you can speak Japanese. Garden maintained very well. Looks amazing at night. Parking is free as long as you let the staff at Hanakohro know.

There wasn’t many shops nearby but currently renovations are underway.

Beautiful garden with pretty night illuminations. A little zen hidden gem is located in two large Prince hotel grounds near Shinagawa Station, easy access from Haneda Airport (Keikyu Line to Shinagawa station ¥300,a super short taxi ride to hotel ¥500) The stuff is one of the best teams I have seen,seamless effort with grace and dedication.

The mattress is not as comfortable as other hotels in the same category

Restaurant no more service after 21:30, for food the last order is 9pm (including the last order for deserts). The waiter took our order for a second bottle of wine at 21:15 and we then had to leave the premises ... we hadn't realised this, the experience was therefore disappointing !

I had a wonderful stay at the Hanakohro. The facilities were top-notch, and I want to especially thank the staff for their thoughtful and attentive service. The kaiseki breakfast was fantastic. The seasonal offerings brought a great variety of refreshing flavors, which were perfect for the hot summer days. The room was elegant and quiet. The bathroom/shower room were well-stocked with toiletries, and the staff brought fun snacks to the room every day. I will definitely be back on future trips!
