Perfect location; quick walk to the shopping areas, various subway entrances, some laundromats, and Yoyogi Park, but also far enough away from the hustle and bustle that the hotel stay itself was nice and quiet in the evening. Interactions with the staff were always very pleasant; we felt welcome every time we entered the lobby and the cleaning staff is thorough and consistent. We also opted for breakfast every morning, which was great quality between both options provided (Western or Japanese); filling, but light enough to get us ready for the day. Our room itself was pretty compact, however it was still just the right size for me and my husband, and to be able to separately access both our large suitcases with no hassle.
The rooms were often times uncomfortably warm at night that it made it difficult to sleep. Although there are temperature controls within each room, the overall heating/cooling is controlled by the hotel for the building as a whole. We stayed late Jan-early Feb, so the heating was of course turned on. I guess guests have complained about this often enough that they posted an explanation/apology for this in the elevator. We easily alleviated this problem by opening the window.

This is a very classic Japanese hotel. The location is brilliant and the breakfast room was amazing. The rooms are a little dated, but that's what we liked about it to begin with.
The ambience of the entry could be brought up to date a little more, especially considering the cool area the hotel is in. The front area had a vase of flowers that had started to die and made the lobby smell really bad. In the whole two days we were there, no one changed them or got rid of them, despite the odour getting stronger. It may seem slight, but it was the only noticeable bad thing about our stay.

The room was big and roomy compared to other hotel rooms we have stayed at. We were able to fit 3 large suitcases and still have walk room. The staff were exceptional. They were cordial, respectful and went beyond the call of duty. They made sure our stay was comfortable and helped us with all communications with reservations, taxi, etc... because of language barrier. The hotel was close to Shibuya crossing. Everything was about an 8 minutes walk. We walked to restaurants and shopping. The farthest we have walked was shopping for 12 minutes.

My wife was accused of letting a man inside our room via phone by the front desk staff not verifying who that was!!! Two blatant mistakes and accusations, first mistake my wife is always with me so my wife was very upset and didn’t like the impression left by the front desk staff! Second mistake, it was the other room, room 302 who had relatives living in Japan meeting them and went to their room! Our room was room 303!!! My wife was very angry with said accusation and the tone of the staff of charging us for extra person was even worse! That was a very bad phone call from the front desk staff!!!!

The place is retro, so like 80's. Think brown laminate and the hotel stereo under the bedside table. But its immaculate and all working. The rooms have everything but are very small unless you book a twin! The staff are absolutely lovely, in fact from the momen we arrived they were just so warm and went out of their way for us. They were way nicer and more helpful than any other place we stayed on our trip in Japan and frankly I think they have the award for best staff anywhere I have ever been. That includes the cleaners. Each of us mentioned we had noticed this at various times so it wasn't just me. They even heated up our Uber Eats for us at reception. There are fantastic bars right outside and around the corner and its a short walk from the scramble crossing. You can't beat that for location! There is also a fabulous Italian coffee shop only a minutes walk away which opened early, always had seats AND proper coffee! When you have been to Tokyo you will understand how much this means to you!

Rooms are clean and a bit larger than most rooms in Japan. It's about a 10-12 minute walk from Shibuya crossing, so it is pretty quiet at night. The included breakfast was a nice touch. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good stay.
Room doors should be upgraded to a modern card key system as they still use a regular key that you are required to drop at the front desk whenever you go out. There were a lot of bars in the area, so it seemed a bit sketchy at night, but we didn't have any issues.

Location was easy to find and was in a nice quiet spot out of the way from the main area. The room was a decent size with quite a large fridge, larger than anywhere else we’ve stayed in Japan. Staff were friendly enough.
We asked for a non smoking room and when we first entered the room it had a strange smell, like the over use of air freshener to disguise a smell. Upon closing the curtains there was a horrid stale smoke smell. That’s the only bad thing I could really say about the hotel.

Perfect location and friendly staff. The twin room had ample room. Great ensuite with brilliant showers.Very comfy. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The double room was a little small that meant the bed touched 2 walls and so it was a bit tricky getting out of it. The pillows could have been a bit firmer as they were a bit flimsy.

The Shibuya Creston Hotel is an absolute hidden gem of a place to stay. It's very close to everything you could want to see and do in Shibuya, but just far enough away to be extremely quiet. I ate breakfast at Restaurant Nigoume in the hotel two days - the Western-style breakfast one day, and the Japanese-style breakfast another. Both were excellent. The staff was beyond friendly, and very accommodating to my non-Japanese-speaking self. I would definitely stay there again.
I loved it all. I just wish my visit to Tokyo could've been longer. It's a place unlike anywhere else I've been, and I would've liked to experience more of it.

I couldn't imagine a better stay. I was there with my two middle school aged kids for nine nights, a long trip for us and our first one without my spouse. We were there to sightsee, and I was keynoting a professional conference. So business and pleasure. We had more than enough space, and everyone at the hotel was so nice and helpful. The wifi and elevator ran smoothly, and we loved the extra amenities in the bathroom -- nice shampoo, conditioner, etc, plus extra wrapped toothbrushes and combs if you left yours at home. It was my first time anywhere in Asia, and my kids' first time ever out of the US, so it was great to have a home base that felt homey. It was nice and quiet in the area; the AC worked well; and we were within close proximity to a Lawson konbini to run out for little treats. It was also in terrific proximity to Yoyogi Park and a very short bus ride (#51) or 20 minute walk up to the conference venue at the National Olympic Youth Memorial area. It was also half a mile from Shinjuku Station and even closer to Yoyogi-koen (which was a lot less busy, and our preference). It's also really close to the Donki (discount trinket shop) and Cat Cafe MoCHA Shinjuku (where we spent entirely too much time when the kids needed some downtime after the busy-ness of the day). Plenty of eateries in the area also, but I couldn't get enough of the konbini egg sandwiches! The beds were Western-style and extremely comfy. There was a lot of different lighting in the room, so it was easy for some people to sleep while others stayed awake without a conflict. So grateful to the staff at Shibuya Creston Hotel for making our stay so wonderful. We're already talking about what we want to do when we go back to Tokyo, but no question where we will stay again. I'm an leg amputee, so often I find accessibility issues with places I stay (and just try to do my best). I was delighted that there was a grab bar in the shower and a pull down faucet.
It was excellent all around. I have no complaints. We had the breakfast at the hotel twice: the restaurant is beautiful, and we had both the Western and Japanese breakfasts (to try everything). But usually we ate in our room: we were waking up around 4-5am each day due to jetlag, and couldn't always wait. But Lawson is open 24 hrs/day.
