Smile Hotel Asagaya is a pleasant hotel located in a cute neighborhood with lots of stores and cafes in the vicinity. It is very close to the JR station too. The hotel is clean and quiet, provides all amenities including skin and hair care products and bathrobes, and the room itself is clean and comfortable. The double twin room is fine for two people—it is small, which was fine, I only stayed overnight on my last day in Tokyo. If you’d prefer, I believe larger rooms are available too. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.
Room was small, but that is typical for Tokyo.

This location is a hidden gem. Right next to the train station and it is so quiet, you can't hear the trains passing by. Next to alleys of awesome food joints and bars where the locals go to. There's a long street for shopping whatever you may need. Great location for food and drink.
The bathrooms could be a little cleaner.

The friendly front desk staff (woman and younger man) were very helpful and patient with my questions. For genuine local cuisine, they recommended the nearby Tokyo Kokekokko Honpo Asagaya Shop which prepared excellent fresh sashimi right in front of me. I also loved exploring the colorful shops (including a cat bar) and winding streets at both night and day.
WiFi could use a speed boost.

Location. Really convenient and lots of shops nearby. Love the skin care products provided! I left a pair of glasses behind in the room and when I contacted them, they sent them back to me promptly. Great customer service!
The building is old. The bathroom is run down and the washbasin in need of repair. We had a twin room which I think is overpriced for a budget hotel.

The staff were friendly and always there to help. The room was quiet and had everything I needed, plenty of plugs, good air conditioning, it was clean and the bathroom was perfect. The location was a nice little area in Asagaya right off the station, which made travelling each day very easy.
The shower head would pop out of place at times and I wasn't sure how to fix it but no complaints at all really.

The hotel is right beside Asagaya JR station and the neighborhood is lively, full of restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly and helpful. They also provide cleaning services and fresh toiletries everyday. I will stay here again when I return to Tokyo.
Not much to dislike. You can feel that the property is a bit outdated but it does not bother me since the pros outweigh the cons by a lot.

Perfect sized room if all you need it for is sleeping. Location to the station was excellent, not even a one minute walk. Plenty of food options and bars in the area. Could not hear the trains going with the window closed even though it was literally right next to the station. I did have a window facing the alleyway so not sure if sound proofing still applies for windows facing the station.
The bedding was too firm for my taste. Also, the sheets were a little scratchy. One last minor gripe, I could not turn the desk lamp off without unplugging it, I think the touch sensor was messed up. No big deal though because the room had adequate light solutions

This is a fairly standard business hotel with some eateries nearby. The beds are fairly comfortable and although this is extremely close to Asagaya station, I didn't hear the train on either night. For Tokyo, it's reasonably cheap.
The rooms are a bit cramped for two people and the bathroom - although clean - is showing some wear and tear.

The hotel is situated 1 min away from the station. The location is good. Asagaya is a residential area so it's really quite and there are some restaurants around to relax if u want to avoid the crowd from Shinjuku. The staff is really nice and very helpful. The hotel is very clean, rooms are small but big enough for one person. U have a small bathtub in every bathroom with Japanese toilets. Beds are comfortable. You also have a desk, a chair, a TV and a small closet.

This hotel is really close to Asagaya train station and some eateries. The beds are reasonably comfortable and check in and check out was prompt.
The rooms are somewhat cramped (this is a business hotel, after all), especially the bathrooms. It can get a little noisy in the middle of the night.
