The balcony was super nice, the staff were very attentive and I loved how they helped us both find the right size Yukatas and learn how to put them on. The Onsen pass is included with the hotel reservation and they give you everything you need to enjoy exploring the onsens. Bathrooms were also very nice and the futons were lovely. Really enjoyed our stay and likely will be back next time we visit Kinosakionsen.
Nothing - but will warn future people if you want a private Onsen réservation you should do it early on after check in. We called a couple hours later and they were full. Not a complaint at all (they asked us at check in if we wanted it so it's totally on us) but something to be mindful of :)

Conveniently located in the middle of the 7 onsens; private onsen that is also tattoo friendly. Open air private onsen requires prior booking. Breakfast requires prior reservations. Staff is responsive if you message the property. Staff is very helpful and made me feel like family. Kaki-san was especially welcoming and helped me tie my Obi and Yukata properly. The night staff knows less English, but still communicated well with me and explained the timing of the Onsens. A ticket for the hot springs is given, and lasts from the start of your stay to 1pm the day you leave. I stayed only one night but wish I could have stayed longer. There is a shuttle that takes you to the Inn from the kinosakionsen station. Everything is walkable from this onsen which really helped since I use a cane. The steps weren’t too steep, and the restaurant was absolutely delicious . Thank you for the hospitality. I hope to visit again.
Everything was amazing

Receptionist in mornings who spoke good English was most helpful& had a cheerful, friendly personality. Hotel is very well situated for visiting the town's onsens and the shops& restaurants along the main street. And only aboutv10 min walk to the station. Our room was neatly designed with a nice covered balcony looking out to the river/.canal. A relaxing, peaceful atmosphere in the little town,; none of the crowds & noise of the more popular bigger cities. There is a lovely little Cafe by the river, with delicious pastries, if you walk along the eastern side strèet
Nothing in particular.5u69

A boutique ryokan located 7 min walk from the station. We booked two rooms for a family of 5 adults + child. We got an upgraded which was nice gesture. The rooms were spacious and clean. one with river view was a bonus to the experience. The massage chair was unexpected so much appreciate facility after a long day. The lady helped my child to put on yukata he had so much fun.
I dont think there was anything that bothered me. there was no lift but it was fine to our family.

No regrets booking my stay here. The rooms were very clean, they have a mix of modern and traditional rooms that are very spacious for solo travellers. Great location too, within walking distance from the train station and to all the onsens in town. There are onsens within the property that are open from 4pm - 9am so you can have a soak at night. Big shoutout to the staff Naoko-San and Kaki-san, who were so friendly and hospitable! They showed me how to wear the yukata properly, explained the customs for onsen, and provided a list of recommendations in town!

We fell in love with the town of Kinosaki, the perfect relaxing spot after Tokyo and Kyoto. We stayed in June and it was still nice to get up early and use the onsen or at night (days were a bit warm). The hotel was so lovely and they were super helpful. You get a pass to visit all the onsen as well as your traditional yukata (like a kimono) and the wooden clogs. They also had an onsen onsite (split into men and women’s) as well as a private onsen you could use - 2,200 yen for 45 mins - we enjoyed this.
We noticed the town itself on a Tuesday night there wasn’t much open for restaurants.

We stayed 2 nights so we could have a full day onsen hopping but I didn’t realise the pass was valid from 3 o’clock on check in and 3 o’clock on the day of check out! But still it was wonderful to stroll Kinosaki without rushing, especially at night. The hotel was very convenient, a courtesy bus meets travellers at the station and took us directly to the inn. It is charming and right by the willow lined canal. The staff member who brought us to our room spent time finding the perfect size yukata for my daughter and dressing her which added to our experience. Our room was spacious with good soundproofing thanks to the small side rooms. On Sunday the lady at the desk was SO kind and helpful, she was lovely to chat to explaining the significance of the carp streamers, iris flowers and samurai display. She recommended lovely places to eat and reserved dinner for us at a small sushi bar opposite -which was delicious!
Perhaps if you suffer hay fever the tatami smell may be too strong, compared to other traditional inns we have stayed in. It was a shame we didn’t get the option to book half board, the smells from the kitchen were amazing!

It was our first stay at a ryokan. When we arrived at Kinosaki onsen, we were experiencing jet lag. It helped us a lot that the staff allowed us to check in earlier. A stay in this accommodation supported the magical atmosphere of Kinosaki onsen. After booking the accommodation, we also ordered dinner and breakfast. The food was very tasty and interesting. Especially the food that was being prepared on burners in front of us. The service was very attentive and friendly. The opportunity to dress in haori and yukata with accesories was also a great experience.

One night is not enough! Ms. Kaki (owner) and Satau (staff) made my stay pleasant and enjoyable. Satau brought me to the room, taught me how to wear Yukata, served me tea and recommended me a good restaurant. Her friendliness and service efficiency impressed me. I enjoyed a conversation with Ms. Kaki after returning from my hot bath. She was at the counter at night. She learnt a lot about japanese culture from her. She was a friendly, funny and nice host. I like the location as it is in the middle of the town and easy to access to bath houses. The hotel also has its onsen which is highly recommended. I will be back.

The receptionist and the staff is so friendly! made my stay so warming and comfy. The onsen on site is so great as well. The room is very nice and clean. The ryokan is old but is very well maintain. Rooms are also very big. Bed is also very comfortable. Location is perfect close to all the onsens and restaurants. I like that you can opt to not have breakfast and dinner for a lower rate.
