We spent our anniversary here and pretty much had the entire 6th floor to ourselves. The room was especially luxurious and spacious - we felt like royalty! The real treat was the bathtub overlooking the mountains and river. They even gave us a large jar of rose petals to use. Staff was very kind and helpful. The meals were delicious (I was actually full)! The hotel onsen was also quite nice (definitely better than a few of the public onsens in the town). A plus was that it wasn't crowded too. We didn't realize that our visit/stay coincided with the Kinosaki Danjiri Festival which my fiancee loved witnessing. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Kinosaki.

Initially, I read some reviews mentioning this is an old hotel, while it seems that they have renovated the interior and both the room and dining area look fine. The staff speaks English although it may be more convenient to communicate with them in Japanese on some occasions. If you have ordered dinner, remember to keep your stomach empty. We came in winter and really enjoyed the seasonal crab meal with endless dishes of snow crabs cooked in different ways. The hotel is also very close to the train station. So you can simply walk there from the train station even with your luggage.
Compared to dinner, breakfast is less impressive. The price is not cheap, but it is also expected given Kinosaki Onsen is a popular tourist spot.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. They loaned us kimono to wonder the town and visit the other onsen. Then helped my daughter and I to put on properly. So sweet.
The only thing I didn’t like, which was more of a booking error is that I didn’t book the dinner at the hotel. I meant to and once the room was booked without dinner (accidentally) I could not fix or change it (booking.com issue not hotel issue). Luckily this resulted in us finding a lovely dinner in town, in fact one of my favorites on our entire trip.

The staff were courteous, friendly and attentive. These days it’s rare to receive such attentive service from staff, even at top-quality hotels. I’m glad the staff at this hotel still adhere to providing high quality service. The food service was also excellent. We had the crab dinner course and it was so much food, all delicious and served immaculately. Our room was spacious and had everything you need, and there are baths available at the hotel too :)
It’s a bit of a walk to the station and center of town, but it’s not a big problem unless you have a lot of bags. My mother struggled a bit when walking to the station to catch our train.

What an amazing place if you want the ryokan experience for a reasonable price. Great service, friendly staff and awesome location. The hotel has its own private onsen and provide the women with free yukatas and a kimono. It also gave us complimentary passes to use the public onsens and discounted tickets for the ropeway. The bus to the local beach stops right outside the hotel but make sure you check the times it runs. I loved the attention to detail and would definitely stay again.

Even if the hotel looks a bit old and trying to look modern on the outside, the room was spacious, super clean, very charming and comfortable. The staff is great, going the distance to help. The onsen is good yet needs a good scrub.
The public onsen needs a good scrub, looked dirty (the private one we had on our balcony was great). Note to travelers that are allergic to seafood: this is a seatown, it’s all about seafood and for them seafood is everything in the sea including fish. Upon reservation, make sure you tell the hotel about your allergies and list all the food you are allergic to and have a printed list handy to hand out to the staff. They will happily work around it.

The staff, the hotel, facilities - just about everything about this place was exceptional. We didn't expect such a great service to be provided. The bathhouse within the accomodation was great. They switch the female and male bath houses daily so both genders can experience each one. The Kaeseki dinner course was exceptional. To my recollection, the course had more than 10 menus. The dinner and breakfast is at a separate dining area rather than having it in your room. I've experienced both and I prefer going to a separate dining space, especially if you have a child. Wife and I promised to come back here in our next big anniversary.
It was a little further from the station, but this is Kinosaki so everything is relatively close. The hotel also provide shuttle bus services from the hotel to the station.

Stayed in the suite with private bath. The room was huge and comfortable, the private bath was lovely and overlooked the mountains and river. Great facilities and amenities within the room. The kaiseki crab dinner was also amazing. Breakfast was nice as well, traditional Japanese.
The property itself was very dated and quite unattractive on the outside. It also felt quite old fashioned and dated inside. On first appearance from the outside we were worried. It’s also a bit far from the station in a much less picturesque part of town, far away from the hustle and bustle and all the public onsens.

The room I booked is big and it is actually a 2-room unit with a fixed partition. Just nice for 3 persons. There is a massage chair in one of the room too. There are two public onsen. The men's onsen was so small that it can only accommodate two persons. But my wife told me that the women's onsen was much larger. I guess they switch onsen at following a certain schedule.

Friendly and patient staff - tried very well explaining in english. I had a mistake of booking only for 2 adults, not 4, but they accommodated our request to add our 2 adult sons 2 days before our checkin. The futtons were prepared and they were very comfortable too! Location is suited between the train station and rows of onsen. Rooms are comfortable and warm - gave us an old traditional japanese home feel.
