The room was very well kept and clean. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. About 5 mins walk from the station. The ryokan allows one free use of the private onsen for 45 mins which you have to book during check-in.

At first I thought for the price I got, it would be very basic and since it included both kaiseki dinner and breakfast, I could not see how it could be beyond my expectations given the price I paid (with my three travel mates). I was proven wrong - all services, from the front door all the way till the end was excellent. The dinner and breakfast were glorious, the private bath was great (yes it is included), and we even had a pass for free public bath use around Kinosaki Onsen areas. As a bonus, the inn itself is like a mini art museum (check it out, it has to do with the past owner).
This was not a complaint because it was a timing issue, but apparently they had a renovation/construction project ongoing, so the exterior of the building was not visible and covered by the construction nets. However, the interior is completely unaffected and there were no noise whatsoever. So this is really not a minus.

What a treat! Our rooms, each with a private bathroom, were both beautiful and comfortable. The daily private onsen visits were an absolute privilege, adding to the overall charm of this gorgeous Ryokan. Be sure to go out at night and stroll along the water to witness the breathtaking beauty of the lights. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the meals prepared by Chef Ryou Syougaki. Especially the kaiseki dinners. If he doesn't already have Michelin star status, he certainly deserves it. The crockery and plating were out of this world, and we felt incredibly privileged to experience the exquisite meals he prepared for us. It is an experience not to be missed. We were served by the most wonderful team, but Pramila stood out as our star. Her wit and ability to converse in English made our interactions with her especially delightful. She is a gem, and we will always remember her as an integral part of our outstanding stay. I often give a 10 out of 10 when a place pleases me overall, but this deserves more than a 10.

We had an exceptional stay, and it was a highlight of our trip. Please see summary below: Location: Excellent. About a 6 minute walk from the KinosakiOnsen Station and close to the stream that runs through the town. Room: This is one of the most luxurious rooms we've stayed at and the best we would find in Kinosaki. It is as shown in the photos and has an attached private bathroom in addition to the tub. The room was spacious and clean. I am not sure if the water in the tub is spring water but we spent most of the time bathing in the private and public onsen. Check in was at 3pm. Private Onsen: There are one of two options to pick from at no extra cost, the micro bubble room and traditional room. Both are nice and clean. We decided to also pay to reserve a second private onsen for 45 minutes. In addition, there are male and female public baths at the Inn - depending on the time, you might be the only person in them. Public Onsen: Like all Ryokan in the area, you are given a pass that allows you access to all the public Onsen in the town. Yukata: We were given yukata in standard white and blue/black colours at no extra cost and also had the opportunity to pick a colourful Yukata from their selection. Meals: We are vegetarian and Tsubakino was very accomodating. We were served a set meal for dinner and breakfast - again, this was the nicest Japanese food we had during our trip. I have added a photo of the breakfast with this review, the dinner was much more elaborate and spanned multiple courses. Service: The service was excellent. We had forgotten some clothes in the closet, and the Inn promptly delivered it to our next hotel in Kyoto.

I was blown away by the attentiveness of the staff at the ryokan, they were extremely helpful and ready to provide assistance at all times. The location was perfect for access to the 6 onsens in Kinosaki and everything was provided for visiting all of them during our short stay including an onsen pass, yukatas, shoes/sandals, and baskets for carrying our goods. The private onsens available were easy to book and delightful at the end of the night to relax after you've already been to multiple onsens. The dinner and breakfast service was amazing and honestly was worth the price of the stay on its own.

Location just few minutes walk from station, English speaking staff, traditional Japanese house, we love private onsen at the hotel, breakfast and dinner was delicious, there was one day that staff made mistake about our seat for breakfast and we have to wait for half an hour for them to set up again for us, thing went well we finally got our food, staff were very sorry and apologized to us so many time. When we checking out they still apologizing about that mistake and even gave us discount on the bill, hotel, staff, food this hotel was one of the memorable place!

Honestly I liked everything the place was great, the staff was awesome and could speak english, the food was tasty and plentiful, the room was amazing It was the first leg of our trip and we wanted to start in style... was not disappointed We chose kinosaki mainly because we were visiting Kyoto and were looking for outdoor tattoo friendly onsen the private onsen at the ryonkan is big enough for couple bath
Shops close at 4:30pm, so luckily we had booked dinner at the ryonkan no mixed bath About kinosaki itself, it's nothing compared to the huge outdoor natural hot springs I went to in my last trip near Nagano (where they also had mixed bath) so i was a bit disappointing about that, but still it was the best compromise I could get about location and tattoo problem

We booked the high end suite. We were looking for the very old traditional feel with the ancient look and the massive cast iron tub in the middle of the room was what caught our eye. The Room exceeded my expectations and the staff were very attentive and amazing. The food was not what i expected.... It went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for that over and beyond experience.
