Our stay at Sensui was so lovely. The location is perfect. The structure and rooms are beautiful and immaculately clean. The design and aesthetics are beautiful. The chef and the kaiseki - seasonal and beef- were both phenomenal. So, so beautifully presented and so,so delicious. And our server, Nao.. so gorgeous! Lovely smile all the time, very good english, great explanations, and she does the sweetest and prettiest drawings!! She really made our stay- Nao and the Chef. 😊 excellent experience. Japan continues to exceed all expectations of excellence. (Kinosakionsen is also a very beautiful town, easy to walk around, the onsen are wonderful and it's very worth the visit- we needed longer!) I hope I come back one day. ありがとうございます

The futon are really warm ?! A bit uncomfortable i must say.

Traditionally, onsens are segregated by gender. So if you are traveling with a partner of the opposite gender, you leave them at the entrance of the onsen and hang out with strangers in hot water. This property has private onsens that you can use whenever they are unoccupied, no gender restrictions. Why any traveler, except same sex partners, would prefer a public onsen is mystifying to me and my wife. Stay here and share the pleasure of an onsen with whomever you love. The snow crab dinner was also fantastic.

If there's an elevator we did not see it, but that was not a problem for us.

Staying at Sensui was one of the highlights of the trip! First and foremost, the staff are wonderful. We had the joy of knowing Peco and Mina the most and they were kind and took the time to add little, personal touches to make sure your entire stay was amazing. The room was large, clean, spacious and modern. The facilities were incredible especially the private onsen and there’s also a really nice library on the second floor which we loved reading in. You are provided with a yukata and sandals to wear during your stay. I would highly recommend eating at the hotel. The omakase meal is fantastic! We had dinner for two nights and the seafood is incredible! There’s also Japanese wine and sake to drink. Kinosaki is a beautiful town to explore and we loved going to all the different onsens but it was made even better by knowing we had Sensui to return to.

Nothing, it was incredible. If anything I would say book 3 nights so you can explore the town more.

Beautiful, relaxing, calm stay. We stayed in the twin room with beds. Very comfortable beds and a toilet in the bedroom space, shared bathroom on ground floor. Private onsen on site was also very enjoyable. Both dinner and breakfast were a great experience of Japanese food. All staff very attentive and welcoming. Walking and exploring the town by foot and bus was easy and enjoyable. Will definitely return and recommend . We felt extremely relaxed and cleansed on departure.

Not a dislike but some confusion with our lack of Japanese over when and where to be wearing what in and around the hotel.

So peaceful and relaxing from the moment we arrived. Off the Main Street which adds to the tranquility but still super close to everything as Kinosaki Onsen is tiny. The staff were attentive and lovely, with excellent English. The private onsen was lush, as were all the public ones that we tried. We found the futons to be very comfortable and slept well. In fact we overslept as we had planned to visit an onsen before breakfast but ended up enjoying a lie in! We upgraded to the Tajima beef meal and it was exquisite, probably the best meal of my life. This was a much more pricey hotel than I would normally choose, but was excellent value for money for a unique and luxurious experience.

Nothing - our stay was perfect!

Right on the strip where all the onsens are located. We got the day pass together with our stay which was nice. Complementary evening sake was nice! The room was rather nice. Typical japanese style in the one we booked. There was also a booklet with recommendations from the staff.

I'm just being picky here. There was a rather formal atmosphere there. The shared areas on the ground floor were designed in a sleek minimalist way and all the staff spoke politely but you feel like you have to speak in hushed voices during breakfast due to how echoey the space was. Wasn't quite a 'personality' fit but if you like this kind of vibe, then this is the place for you.

The rooms are comfortable with amenities such as tea and water during the day and sake in the lobby in the evenings. Sensui offered a varied Japanese breakfast. Make sure to book dinner well in advance as reservations were not possible on site as they were booked. We will have to return to try their dinner as it is highly rated. Water bottles, tabi socks and slippers, and yukata are provided in rooms. It was chilly in December, and the additional yukata robes and coat kept us warm. We enjoyed dressing up and visiting the public onsen and soon realized we didn't need to worry about the cold weather in our yukata as it was the perfect temperature after the steamy onsen. The town is absolutely picturesque. The biggest perk was the private baths which you use to shower as there is no bathing room in your room. We loved this completely different experience. Sensui provided a convenient location close to the train station, shops, and onsen baths. The staff were polite and very helpful. We would stay again!

Nothing but please know there are stairs and no elevators. The staff were so kind to carry our luggage up.

Our stay at SENSUI was phenomenal! The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is modern and clean, and the traditional Japanese room was beautifully laid out with lovely views over the town into the hills. The hotel provided all the clothing and items we needed to go to the onsens in the town. We opted for having dinner which was a really delicious affair. Multiple courses like a tasting menu, of fish and beef, with our wonderful server who showed us how to cook shabu shabu. The dining area felt like a high end restaurant in its lay out and decoration. There was even a complimentary Sake tasting after. Breakfast too was relaxed and delicious. The town itself was amazing, we loved wandering around the canal, visiting the Osen and taking the ropeway up the nearby mountain. Would love to stay here again!

We had an amazing time in Kinosaki Onsen and much of that was due to the wonderful staff and service at SENSUI. From the moment you arrive, they go above and beyond - a staff member is assigned to you, leads you through check in, serves your meals and even sets up your futon for the nights sleep. The house-specialty yuzu tea on arrival and complimentary sake before dinner are lovely touches. The meals are nothing short of incredible (make sure you arrive hungry), location is perfect for visiting the onsens or strolling through town to enjoy the shops. We highly recommend! Stay a couple of nights or more to pamper yourself - travelling can be exhausting but a stay at SENSUI will rejuvenate you.

This small hotel is in a quiet location a few steps away from the main thoroughfare. The room we had was spacious with a little indoor balcony and its own toilet and basin. The shower was downstairs as part of the hotel’s private onsens. There were three of them and they were delightfully appointed. The staff are all friendly, attentive and obliging. In our room was a hand-written and illustrated folder of staff suggestions of what to do in Kinosaki. It was a nice touch and said a lot about their approach to hospitality. If you book Sensui make sure you include the kaiseki dinner and breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. We thought this was the best food of our entire stay in Japan. Kinosaki is a great place to include in your Japanese itinerary and Sensui a lovely place to base yourself.

It would be nice if there was an elevator but the helpful staff did take our bags upstairs for us which was appreciated.
