1. They have a free car park space onsite. 2. They provide free shuttle bus that runs from 4 pm to 10pm to take guests/pick up to/from the town centre where all the public onsens and shops located. 3. The hotel has its own private onsen. After trying both the hotel's and one of the public onsens, I like the hotel's onsen better as it was not crowded as the public one. 4. The breakfast they served was good. We quite enjoyed it. 5. Friendly staff 6. Lovely Ryokan

1. But the dinner that the hotel offered was just fair. It was not good as we expected. The beef was quite tough, not tender at all. No tempura of any kind was offered. Seafood is just okay. 2. The hotel's free shuttle bus does not run in the morning. Walking to the town is about 15-20 minutes. 3. Most of the shops in the town centre close between 5pm to 5:30pm. 4. Free coffee is available from the coffee machine on the G/F, but it tastes awful.

Gorgeous, larger ryokan-style hotel with very attentive staff. Room features, mini-bar, foot heater, bicycle loan, etc were excellent, as was the shuttle bus service. Lounge with view of koi pond garden, complete with nighttime kabuki projections, was relaxing and chill, with free self-serve coffee and tea available 24/7, a bit rare in Japan. Didn’t have time to check out the remaining amenities, but the hotel onsen and dining room are most likely excellent. The hotel-supplied yukata, jacket & wooden clogs have you ready for the mystic onsen, pass to all 7 onsen is included.

Location was slightly off the main drag, difficult to walk back to in wooden clogs. Shuttle bus service ends at 10:00 pm, though most onsen close at 11:00 pm. Futon was a bit thin and chintzy, with a sleeping pad they added still not enough padding.

What a beautiful ryokan. Staff were all so nice, kind, friendly. Lots of amenities! Traditional Japanese Tatami room was sooooooo spacious. Onsen is tattoo friendly and open til midnight. Loved the massage lounge chairs and foot massage machines. Popsicles and drinks in the lounge. The food was incredible. I had breakfasts and dinner included. (For me personally it was too much food but thats a me problem - I'm sure for a person with a normal appetite it would be good).

The futon seemed thin? Is that normal? I thought futons were supposed to be comfortable. The comforter surely is. The Ryokan is A LITTLE walk from the main road - which honestly isn't a big deal but when your feet hurt it sucks lol 😆 But they do have a shuttle from 4pm to 10pm to pick you up from certain spots in town to bring you back to the hotel so you don't have to walk.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and we're always happy to help with any requests. The facilities were clean and well looked after and it was so enjoyable to spend time in the lounge and the onsen. The lobby and outdoor onsen baths were beautiful. The meals were wonderful and kept us full enough so we could just snack our way through the town as we explored. We are able to rent a yukata for a very reasonable price from the ryokan and the staff were happy to help us out to put it on. The ryokan is a small distance away from the central area but they were happy to help us arrange transportation to where we needed to go (no charge). They have a shuttle service that we could call to get a pick up from using LINE which we found very convenient for our post dinner walks.

Nothing. Some people may like to be more central to town, but we didn't mind it as they had a shuttle service available until late.

Everything! This place was everything I dreamed it would be and then some. The staff was so welcoming, and the shuttle made life so easy! I had a traditional Japanese room with a futon, and I got the traditional breakfast. There was so much food I couldn't finish it all! I did 3 Onsens and the one at Ryokan and slept hard. It was absolutely beautiful and WHEN I come back to Japan I'm doing at least 2 or 3 days here.

The pillow was a hard kernel like pillow, maybe buckwheat, and hard to sleep on at first. I felt guilty not finishing all the breakfast. But there was so much.

We had a wonderful stay at Onishiya Suishoen and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The ryokan itself is beautiful, with a peaceful Japanese garden at its center that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The onsen is equally stunning — the perfect place to unwind. The food was truly exceptional. We enjoyed a full-course crab dinner that was absolutely delicious and left us completely satisfied. Every dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. Above all, the staff made our stay unforgettable. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and we’d especially like to thank Cathelyn for guiding us and spending time chatting with us — it made us feel right at home. A convenient bonus is the free shuttle bus service to and from the ryokan, available until 10pm every day, which made getting around so easy. Overall, Onishiya Suishoen was a perfect experience, and we can’t wait to return!

The beds were tatami mats, which were less comfortable for us.

Everything was amazing! The staff blew us away with their hospitality. The breakfast was great value and had many unique things that we wouldn't typically have for breakfast. We loved the yukatas that were provided (we wish we could buy them!) and everything was very close by. The onsen within the ryokan was enjoyable, but we especially appreciated the full access pass to all the other onsens in Kinosaki.

We have no major complaints. If we had to find a couple things, it would be the following: 1. We did not know that breakfast was done until 30 minutes after it had concluded. 2. The men's getas did not fit my feet so I had to use a different shoe. A variety of sizes would be appreciated.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Of all my travels through Japan this was one of my top 3 accommodations- if not the best. We felt very welcome in every regard and the food was absolutely wonderful- so many fresh, sesional and regional delights! The bathing facilities of the house were also great, so even on the eveings where we didn't feel like going into town again we were able enjoy the water (+ the foot massage machine in the reading corner).

The location is not super central, however it's only a short walk into town. There is also a shuttle available which will take you to all the major spots/baths. So really nothing to complain about.

A beautiful ryokan, that give a very nice traditional feel to your stay. I enjoyed the onsen and massage chairs and the staff were very helpful. The free mini bus doing drops around town was very helpful and free hand warmers, tissues, umbrellas were very welcome. The traditional Yukata provided was also a nice touch and made for some nice group photos.

The transport from the station to the hotel was badly timed, we ended up walking with cases as the wait for the next one exceeded the walking time. Despite being difficult with the cases it was worth it to get settled in. No fault of the hotel but we all found the traditional sleeping on matt and futon uncomfortable, if you are a soft old westerner accustomed to high levels of comfort this may not be the choice for you. I managed and I'm glad I tried it, but would not repeat on my next trip.

They provided electric bikes for our early arrival so we can explore while we wait for check in. Once checked in, we were provided yukatas free of charge and onsen bath pass for visiting the other bath houses free of charge. The room is extremely spacious and comes with lots of amenities, including free beer. There is also a lounge with free popsicles, azuki snacks, water and tea along with massage chairs. It was our first time sleeping in a futon, and it was surprisingly very comfortable. The in house onsen was honestly the best onsen we experienced on the whole trip. They have three lovely baths (indoor, outdoor and cold bath) as well as a sauna. The space is meticulously clean and well maintained. Also, the food is insanely good and there’s plenty of it. Dinner included multiple courses and breakfast was quite filling, especially for a long train ride. There is also a free shuttle that will take you from the ryokan to other bathhouses and back. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Honestly, I am looking forward to coming back and this was definitely a highlight in my three week vacation to Japan. Highly recommend staying two nights at least to full enjoy Kinosaki and this lovely ryokan.

Nothing - everything was fantastic!!
