The staff was super friendly. Especially Ms Riz. She helped us out a lot and made sure we had a good stay. Also they picked us up from the train station at night, and took us back to the station the day we left. The private onsens were really nice, as well as the whole experience of staying overnight in the town. The breakfast was very good

The first night we were in a room on the 3rd floor that was very small for the 4 of us. We didn’t have space. The second night we were moved to a bigger room on the second floor and everything was better. Also note, there are no showers in the room. You have the use the onsens

The staff was extremely attentive to our needs. They were accommodating with our dietary preferences and even had a car bring us to the station for our train. The food was excellent. There was also English speaking staff, which made it accommodating for tourists like us. We tried all three of their private onsen baths and loved them all (especially the Kirara bath). Maya was our go-to gal and she did a superb job of bringing us our food, managing the room, and providing us information about the food whenever we were curious. An extra bonus, the toilet lights up and greets you up on entry into the bathroom, playing a nice morning tune while you use it

The walls were a little thin and we could hear noises from other guests. This was not an issue as it was extremely quiet by the time we were getting ready for bed around 9:30 PM

The hospitality was out of this world. You are taken care of from the moment you arrive, with an assigned person who will help answer questions about the area, serve your meals, and take care of your room cleanliness. Meals are served in your room, and they are lovely, colourful and delicious - as well as extremely filling. We didn't eat the same thing once. This was definitely the highlight of our two week japan trip.

The room had a slight smell of cigarettes at night clinging to the heavy duvet. The smell disappeared once they cleared bedding away for the day.

From the minute we walked in the door we loved it - the subtle scent of incense, the polished but friendly service, the little additional touches that made us feel special - it was perfect. We were looked after for our stay by Maya who couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcomed. The owner introduced herself to us which was a lovely touch and the food was superb - we had the keiseki both nights and the breakfasts and all were delicious. There are three onsen in the hotel, all private and distinct from each other - one outdoors, another dark with lovely mood lighting - and all well looked after and meticulously clean. We honestly couldn’t fault a thing.

Nothing, it was perfect.

This has been our best stay in Japan so far. Highly recommended to take this ryokan as the staff is very friendly and accomodating. Maya-san has made the stay incredible, giving us advice on what to look out for in Kinosaki-onsen (ropeway tips, snack bar recommendations, public onsen recommendations). You'll get an onsen pass for unlimited access to public onsens, and the most popular/best onsen in town, Goshonoyu, is right next to this ryokan. The onsens are also tattoo friendly. Tajimaya will also offer indoor yukatas for the private baths, which they have 3 of. They are also very comfortable and good for late night/early morning soaks. The kaiseki style breakfast and dinner were delicious. There is a heavy focus on seafood, which was great for us. The Tajima beef was to die for. There is a free shuttle to bring you from Kinosaki onsen station to the ryokan, and they will offer to drive you back to the station when you check out. However, it's only 11 mins walk, and the town is so serene that we recommend you take a last stroll before leaving. We had spent 2 weeks in Japan before we came here. It's a great idea to book this place for a refresher. My feet were hurting after spending time in Tokyo and Osaka. They were magically healed in this town lol. Thanks again to the Tajimaya staff for your hospitality. We will definitely recommend this ryokan to our friends.

Honestly, there isn't anything to criticize. Everything was perfect.

The Japanese style rooms were beautiful. We were afraid that the Japanese beds (Futon) would be too hard cause we sleep on our sides, but the futons were very soft and we slept very good. The person who helped us spoke very good english so no language barriers. The food was exceptional and calculated into the hotelprice, Michelin star restaurant level (I have restaurant experience). I would recommend this place for the food alone. The private baths were always available when we asked for it so no problems there. You get a free pass to all public baths and yukata and wooden sandals. It is right next to goshinoyu which is in my opinion the best and most beautiful of the public baths.

No remarks everything was great. A suggestion might be bottled water in the fridge.

Breakfast and dinner served in the room. Different variety for the two breakfasts over the two mornings. Dinner is the variety that you choose from the available set menus. We had the crab one night (local fresh crabs) and Tajimaya Beef the next night. Multi-course meals. Delicious and great service. They also arranged to have luggage delivered to near the train station so we could continued enjoying the town on checkout day. You should come here. The location is also excellent for being in the quieter part of town yet near the baths and ropeway.

This was an amazing experience! We are a young couple in our early 30’s and my husband has a lot of tattoos. The village is known for being tattoo friendly and they are! Check in isn’t until 3 pm but they allowed us to leave our bags there. I suggest you do as we did, and we headed to the ropeway. Once you get to the top, make sure you order the Tajima hot dog. Kinosaki is known for their Tajima beef! It’s the best kind of beed I’ve ever had. Furthermore, the staff was so friendly when we checked in. Mia was our room attendant and she spoke really good English. She was the best! You will get to pick your Yucata and stroll the streets with one one. Please make sure you know the etiquette when going into the public onsens. Yes, there are 7 of them throughout the whole village. You can also collect a stamp at each one! There are posters at each onsen to indicate what to do. You must bathe first. Yes, they all have shampoo and body soap. Make sure you also visit the souvenir shops and explore! Best times to visit, even for one day and night is on the weekends. Most stores and bars are closed during the weekday. We only stayed one day, and that wasn’t enough. I would do at least 2 nights! Last but not least, they have 3 private onsens you can go to! The food was delicious and our room was beautiful! We are definitely going to be back and we will stay at this Ryokan. Thank you to Mia and the staff, and the owner who showed up to greet us in our room! They are all truly there to make their guest happy! The food and service was a really special experience. We got to try lots of new things, a lot of it was sea food so make sure you are up for that. Delicious beef too. The room was spacious and quiet. We felt lucky to be there.

I found the baths a bit too hot even though they were very nice spaces I couldn't sit fully in. That may just be my preference. I'd be interested to know the temperature. I know from the other onsens I went to that they are meant to be hot.

We wanted a traditional japanese experience in a Ryokan and it's what we got and more. I can't praise this place highly enough. Staff was wonderful you get a personal staff member catering to your need it's really something. I felt like a Daimyo

If you're from Canada/America understand that a traditional japanese breakfast is not toasts and coffee.
