Note; this hotel contains renovated rooms and non-renovated rooms. In addition to this stay, we stayed another time in a renovated room. The higher floor rooms are not renovated and are basic, comfortable and clean (other than the walls). The staff were lovely (note most do not speak English, but it's easy to communicate with a translator). The location is excellent; 2 minute walk to airport bus #92 stop, and short walk to the first metro station. There are loads of restaurants around, and a supermarket a 2 minute walk. The basic room is very good value for money in the city.

We had problems with our WiFi continually dropping out. We noted that this did not happen on the lower floors.

Our stay was absolutely delightful as a couple. The room was impeccably clean, cozy, and well-maintained, making us feel completely at ease. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile, and their guidance made our experience even more enjoyable. The location was perfect just a short walk from the train station while all the essential facilities were readily available, adding to our comfort. Without a doubt, whenever we visit Almaty again, or if any of our family or friends travel there, we would love to recommend this wonderful hotel. It truly felt like a home away from home!

Bus stop for bus no 12 ( kok tobe and Shymbulk ski resort) and 92 (airport bus) is just two minutes away. The bus stop is very close to the hotel. There are many good restaurants, convenient stores, currency exchanges nearby. Near to required facilities, such as transport, banking, restaurant, shopping. The location of the hotel is accessible and near to metro stations, bus stations, restaurants and groceries. Tahar Hotel is very good location, friendly staff and clean. Comfortable bed, clean and good shower. Located near Almaty2 train station & a metro station. Wifi is strong. Overall, value for money.

Refrigerator to be cleaned up. Facilities to be improved.- add a microwave and botol of water for guests.

Excellent place to stay. We had a very good time in Almaty and stayed in this Hotel for 3 days. Few points -The location is great, metro station is at walking distance. -Plenty of Cafes/Restaurants at walking distance. -The staff is very helpful. We did not know Kazakh/Russian but the staff made sure to help us using transalator apps. -Common area has Microwave & Electric kettle which can be used. -They allowed check-in at 4AM which is wonderful when you have flights at odd times and you just want to rest after tiring travel. -Rooms were clean and well heated. Highly reccommended !

Highly recommended budget-friendly hotel in the city center of Almaty. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I stayed for 13 nights in a cozy, clean room with a comfortable bed and private bathroom. The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to public transportation and plenty of dining and supermarkets options nearby. Everything was exceptional. I would definitely stay there when I visit Almaty again.

The hotel is nice, very close to the station and to the Arbat, so the location is super convenient. The staff didn’t really speak English but they tried their best to help us. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall I would recommend it!

Wi-Fi signal wasn’t really strong in our room. There was not air conditioning in the room which can be challenging during the summer. Also I would provide some soap for the shower and an hair dryer, these were missing. You can store your bags, but they charge you for the service.

The ambience of the hotel was great and it's location was also in the city centre .The rooms are good and clean with a great view from the window . There are variety of food shops at a walking distance from the hotel , even good indian food can be found at the Govinda restaurant nearby. There are also grocery stores nearby , apart from this the staff is also very friendly and it feels like home . I would love to stay here if i ever visit Almaty again and i would suggest Hotel Tahar to anyone who is looking for an economical and comfortable place to stay.

İt meet my basic expectations. I didnt live a big problem. Everythings was ok. The room heating, furniture and cleanness was enough for me. Paying with either cash or by credit card was good. Location was quite central I usually walked to some main places. Thanks for everything

Bed could be more comfortable Due to personel didnt know english I have lived some comminication problems with them There was a bit noice becouse of constraction in hotel Hotel's name wasnt noticable and there wasnt english name of hotel so I didnt sure if I reached the right place.

This is actually my second stay. Greatly exceeded expectations. I was a little dubious the first time I approached the building, as there's little to no signage, and it's very unassuming from outside. As soon as I entered, the hotel was warm, well presented, and the staff were amazingly accommodating. Located very close to metro and intercity railway stations, buses, as well as shops and restaurants. One woman, possibly the manager, speaks English very well, which avoided using Google Translate for a lazy, inept tourist like myself. The price is fantastic, possibly the cheapest private rooms in the city. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, well equipped, hot showers, and they also have a laundry service and coffee machine. I was warned that they're renovating a couple of the rooms, and so there may be some noise, but I literally have not heard or noticed a thing aside from a couple of spots of wall being repainted.
