Beautiful small boutique hotel (only six rooms), directly on the oceanfront but protected and private. Great location in Diani Beach near airport, shopping center, coffee shop, easy access to local transportation--especially helpful and secure for a solo traveler. Attentive staff. Excellent restaurant onsite. I'll be back!

The only small downside was that the airport shuttle offered seemed overly expensive (3-4 times the cost of local transportation) and the cost was not transparent when booked. Next time I'll take a local 'tuk tuk' for the short ride from the airport.

This is a truly incredible hotel, and if you get the chance to stay here, I highly recommend! * Very clean, spacious rooms with twice daily room service * BEAUTIFUL hotel grounds with a pool overlooking the ocean * Beachfront restaurant with delicious food and very fair prices. I ate all my meals here for a week and there so much variety and always delicious * Fantastic staff!! The waiters, the housekeepers, the cooks - all so friendly and helpful. I felt like part of the family * Wonderful spa services at very good prices * I came on a solo trip for my birthday and the staff sang happy birthday and gave me a piece of cake. Really made my day. * When you’re on the beach in Diani, you’re constantly hassled by beach boys. The hotel has lounge chairs overlooking the ocean but separated from the actual beach so you can enjoy relaxing on the beach without being constantly harassed

Not great wifi, but hot spot worked well

When we arrived at Diani Beach, we knew our choice to stay at The Asha Hotel was the right one. The hotel is lush with gardening and palm trees while others along the beach nearby were not. The beach restaurant was clearly the best - with both locals and guests at other venues visiting to enjoy the incredibly tasty food. (The complementary breakfast was superb with lots of options made on your order - aka not buffet. The avocado toast was perhaps best I have ever had. The BBQ night was something my husband still dreams of.) The rooms and common areas were kept immaculately clean by staff that worked incredibly hard. The spa treatments on site were wonderful and very affordable.

The one aspect that was not pleasurable was not the fault of the hotel - but of transit to get to/from Diani Beach. We arrived by train to Mombasa - the drive to Diani was long and winded through the city, around massive construction, and included a ferry ride. It took about 2hrs from train to hotel. However on departure, we found that a long drive and ferry wait is better than traveling via the Diani airport. To passengers surprise, the Diani airport had only one plane (which was not in flying condition the day we had purchased tickets) which left us stranded an entire day (without food, water, or ac from the airline operators) and ultimately delivered passengers 12 hours later to a different airport to pay again to get to where we had originally paid to be flown to.

Had a fantastic time and would love to come back! The hotel is smaller (seems like maybe max 10 rooms) so it feels more intimate - you're not surrounded by mass tourism and have your space and calm. It's directly by the beachfront, with stunning views. Rooms were comfortable and clean. WiFi worked well across the whole property (could do a Zoom call from my room). What made it even better was the very attentive staff and delicious food. I read good reviews before booking but my expectations were exceeded.

Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool is lovely and the surroundings were so lush and peaceful. We ate every single meal at the beautiful restaurant right on the beach and never ran out of options, and as vegetarians that is impressive. The staff also went above and beyond. Every meal was served as if at a 5 star restaurant. I also felt extremely safe here.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Amazing location, directly at the beach with great views of the Indian Ocean and a small, though beautiful and well-maintained garden where you can hear the birds. Rooms are spacious and clean. You can choose breakfast from a menu and it is cooked fresh. On Friday evenings there's a barbecue, with lots of choices. Highly recommended. An ideal place to relax. Staff is very welcoming.

Excellent food, tasteful and very comfortable rooms and excellent staff. The location is fantastic. A special thanks goes to the admin staff, there was an issue with the booking through booking.com and they handled the situation extremely well and professionally. Thank you!

Between the hotel and I we managed to handle the issue, however I am still waiting for feedback from booking.com to find out what happened and if the problem was resolved. Sadly the booking.com customer support has not been very helpful, efficient or forthcoming. I shall remain hopeful and expect feedback.

The breakfast was amazing, I think in Europe it would be hard to find hotel with such breakfast as Asha offers. It was just amazing! Dinnig also was the best. We have been in every restaurant in Diani and can easily say that Asha has the best cuisine and prices in Diani. The garden was like a little paradise.

The few guests in the hotel so it’s quite peaceful and service is quick and pool is almost always empty. The bathroom was excellent! Room was spacious! The pancakes for breakfast were delicious!

No mini fridge & tv in the room & no gym in the facility. Also the room we had didn’t have much privacy. Would’ve been much better if the window which is ocean view was also a sliding door. Breakfast could also be buffet instead of ordering.

The Asha is excellent. Both rooms, staff as well as the food and location can't be better. The restaurant with the best view is also very popular with guests who do not stay at the hotel. The breakfast is also outstanding. We cannot understand the moderate applications for breakfast. When we come back to Diani, it will definitely be the Asha again. Thanks to Frank, Susan, John, Purity and the other dear people there. A very good hotel manager has it under control
