The property is fantastic and exactly as pictured. Each room no matter where you are assigned has a stunning view of the beach/ocean. For the food - every single thing we ate was delicious and the cocktails are well prepared. Be sure to try the gazpacho - it is perfect after a hot day in the sun! There are plenty of places to lounge so you don't need to wake up early and 'reserve' a beach chair - we never had a problem and there are different spaces to sit (chairs, beds, hammock). My only regret is not staying longer.

There was a mix up with the airport pickup (there are two local airports, FYI) but the hotel apologized and made it right.

The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home right away. I had forgotten to put in my booking that we had our 1 year old daughter with us and the staff were not fazed at all. We arrived very late but they had thought ahead to ask the driver who collected us from Mombasa to take our order for dinner so there was food for us when we arrived even though the kitchen had closed. The hotel is really beautiful and has an amazing view of the sea. The way the sunbeds and pool is laid out it feels like you are on the beach without actually being on the beach. If you wish to get in the sea it is just down some steps. The staff helped us with all encounters with the hawkers on the beach. It is definitely the most beautiful of the resorts in the area that we saw online and in real life when we explored the area. It looks exactly like the pictures which I have found is not always the case with hotels on booking.com. The food was really good and was much better than what we had been eating on safari and in Nairobi. The highlights were the prawns and tuna. We would have enjoyed a little more variety and African influenced food on the menu but there were daily specials which hit the spot. The staff did seem a little hurt when we had dinner out one night (there's a really good Korean restaurant just at the end of the driveway to the hotel). As the hotel is so small it is understandable that they would want you to eat/spend money with them rather than elsewhere.

There was nothing we didn't like. This was honestly one of the best hotels I have been to.

We were lucky to stay in the penthouse. Amazing! Very big apartment with a stunning view! Large and clean rooms , nicely decorated. The staff was so kind, always friendly and willing to help you , one of them Ali liked playing football with our son! Football, snorkels, surfboards are available which was fun for the kids! The food is very nice as well, always served with a smile! Very clean beach, there are beachboys trying to sell you things, but they stay friendly and take no for an answer. Overall a great place to stay for a few days to rest after your safari tour.

The outdoor space at water lovers is fantastic, the views are stunning and the staff are amazing. We hired the villa and a studio, the studio’s are very nice.

We hired the villa as well as a studio. Though the villa is described as open we were disappointed that the 2 beds upstairs had no doors/ protection/ security. Though there is 24hours security guard we had kids in our party and we didn’t feel comfortable splitting up, just in case of intruders, though more of a nuisance monkeys do come in too. So we had to ask for extra beds in the bedrooms. I would also say the kitchen is not fully functional.

When we asked through the gates we found a little place of paradise. Relaxed atmosphere, staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you to make your stay special. Beautiful location on Diani beach with access to beach. Room was beautiful with a four poster bed. Cool beach bar, Lots of little touches to make you feel at home. Peter and his team were fabulous in looking after us.

The place is amazing!!! They room as super well decorated with african art. Bed is huge. The room has a huge terrasse with a view towards the beach. The wash room is amazing. It has robes, beach bags, the stone shower is amazing. The hotel has a changing room close to the beach with a shower so you can shower there. The free breakfast is super good and they also offer free snack in the evening. The staff is really really nice. When u leave they offer you a keychain.

Dont book your excursions with them, they are 3x more expensive then if you book them separetely.

We were visiting Waterlovers on our honeymoon. We loved the boutique size and great location. The property is stunning and beautifully designed for relaxing beachfront. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and you can tell that the management create a motivating great work environment. The manager Peter was super welcoming and also very helpful when we had an issue with our safari, taking all steps to sort it for us.

Waterlovers Beach Resort is the most beautiful resort I've ever stayed at. It's a small, intimate resort overlooking a fabulous beach. The rooms are charming, spacious and very clean, with breathtaking views. The pool area and beach with its comfortable loungers are extremely well maintained. Breakfast and meals are delicious. But what makes this resort so exceptional is the kindness and professionalism of the staff. The dining room staff were attentive at every meal, the houskeepers in charge of my room was incredibly kind and professional, and I'd like to give a special mention to Abdhalla in charge of the bar, who is quite simply an exceptional bartender and so passionate about his work. He's extremely kind, funny and welcoming. He makes you feel at home and definitely makes you want to spend time at the bar! He is like the soul of the Waterlovers - Thank you, Abdhalla! I so much loved all of this amazing staff that goes above and beyond to make sure we feel comfortable and happy. It just makes you want to stay there forever !

Such a lovely hotel. It’s absolutely beautiful, great pool, bar and staff. Great location near the supermarket, wine shop and some restaurants. Definitely would return.

There were so many beach boys who were really persistent in-front of the hotel which made going for a swim in the sea intimidating. Also some lights of the road leading to the hotel would be good as it’s dark and scary when walking back and forth from the main road.

Very good all round. Picture postcard spot. Nice people and good food.

Confusion about paying for dinner (it was included - but they were confused, tried to charge us, and had no-one to talk to to clear it up for 24 hours)
