Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was equipped with everything we needed and clean. Enought toilets in separate rooms! Kitchen looked nice, however we didn't use it. The building had a very fancy looking vintage (?) elevator. Nice high ceilings, light colors and large windows. Even a large common room with a TV.

The bathrooms were a bit dirty. There was just one room with a shower that you could lock (there were two showers, a toilet and a urinal in the bathroom, but one shower was broken) The other three showers were in a larger bathroom and only seperated by curtains. However, the accomodation is small, so we never had any problems because the "nice bathroom" was usually unoccupied. However, this is not uncommon for a hostel so we were fine with it!

The best thing about it is by far the owner/receptionist lady. She is extremely kind, helpful, always there when I need anything, and smiling. I was in town for only a few days and had to go to latvijas mākslas akadēmija, and the location is very close to it. Prices are very reasonable.

During my stay, a loud group of youngsters was staying in the hotel too, and as there is no sound isolation, I could not sleep at all that night. It is an old building, so unfortunately you get to hear everything (even the quietest phone calls) from all the rooms all the time.

Great location with recently refreshed interior. Adequate bathrooms and showers for the healthy flow of fellow travelers. Onsite laundry possible for 2 Euros -thanks to the nice lady at the reception desk for helping me use it! Strong WiFi and great directions to the place.

The beds are HARD (soft, actually, so you’ll feel the frame underneath!), esp if you weigh over 200 pounds. Luckily, I booked a room with two beds and I was able to stack one mattress on top of the other, otherwise it would’ve been a brutal 4 nights! The noise inside the place is minimal, which I appreciated, however if you have your windows open for ventilation, you will hear the seagulls. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but worth noting.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped me find a legitimate shooting experience and gave suggestions for places to eat. I was given very clear instructions on how to enter the apartments prior to my stay. It was clean and comfortable. There was a kitchen and chill out area. The room had a table, wardrobe and side cabinet and was spacious as well. The shower had hot water and the water pressure was good. The WiFi worked perfectly and the location was very good. It was a 15-20 minute walk to old town but also very close to bus/tram stops if you don't want to walk. There were shops, restaurants and ATMs very close by. I really enjoyed my stay here

The traffic is loud even with the windows closed, but this didn't affect me too much as I slept through it anyway. There are 2 showers but because of the layout of the room (shower hooks are outside of the shower cubicle) it means that only 1 person can shower at a time because of needing to lock the bathroom door, unless you're comfortable being naked around others haha. Again, it wasn't much of a problem as there weren't many people needing to shower at the same time. But it may be inconvenient if you have to wait for people to finish.

I had a nice stay. Staff were friendly. Location is great well connected to city center. Room was very neat and clean, The bathroom and kitchen were clean. Room had a mini fridge too. It is in the central location so it is easy to commute to the nearby city sights. The main tourist attraction is just 15 mins walking from this place that was ver convienient. If u dont want to walk the bus stop is right there in front of this place. So it is well located.

As I had taken the shared bathroom, there might be bit of wait during peak time. But not much. Altogether if u plan properly this can be avoided. Also, walls are bit thin so night if people are noisy u can hear.

It's a good place, location was good, inside a beautiful building. The room was spacious and warm. The facilities were good and everything was clean.Good value

They need to re-write the instructions of how to enter in the evenings, they send you an SMS with this : "Hello! After 6 pm and on weekends, you must use the code for the entrance door on the street side. The code is ### We are on the third floor. For your convenience, please use the elevator." It makes you think that there is a second door down a side street. But there is no door, also when you enter the code on the main door it flashes red afterwards like you have got the code wrong. But the door actually opens . I was locked outside for 30 minutes due to this, and from my chats with the administrator I was not the fired looking for this mystery door for the evenings.

The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, which really made a difference in my stay. The location is unbeatable right in the heart of Riga, making transportation a breeze and allowing for an effortless exploration of the city. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the bathrooms were, far exceeding my expectations. Overall, the hostel provided a fantastic experience, and I absolutely loved my stay!

Nothing significant stood out to make me dislike the hostel, as I didn't encounter any negative experiences during my stay. Given the incredibly low price, it’s hard to find anything to complain about—it's truly great value for money!

It was my first time staying in an hostel and i did enjoy my stay, the place is neat!!. Exceeded my expectations on that, the staffs were very helpful and ready to assist with any issues you have. The location is perfect as well not far from the center

I didn’t like that you could hear noises from the corridor when people are passing which i will say is part of the hostel experience. But overall 10/10. Thank you valdemera residence

I like the building and entire apartment. Very good location, close to my point of interest. Due to the late flight I arrived around midnight. Clear instruction had been provided how to enter into residence and room was prepared. Shared facility were clean and available for use at any time. Room was simple but this was all I needed at that time as I was only sleeping there.

The receptionist was not always available but it was possible to contact by phone if anything urgent required.

The position of Valdemara residence is very good, just 10 minutes walking distance from the Old Town. The room was clean, very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The woman at the reception was very helpful, friendly and responsive: the instructions we were given to access the building were easy and clear to follow.

Just few details: there was no soundproofing in the room (there's a busy street at the base of the residence) and the smell from people cooking in the kitchen was quite strong. For some people (italians like us especially) that can be awful. I'd recommend putting a door in order to separate kitchen from the other parts of the structure and so to prevent this issue.
