After some creative adjustments (like turning a small stool on its side under the sink to create a makeshift vanity), and reconciling ourselves that we’d be living out of our suitcases for the duration of our stay, we began to appreciate the upsides. The staff at the front desk are super friendly and accommodating (most speak some English, while one young woman in particular was very fluent), and the free breakfast at the restaurant next door is very yummy. The bed was comfortable. The AC worked perfectly (nice and quiet), and the shower had lots of hot water and good pressure. And the daily housekeeping service, which included refreshed instant coffees and delicious Sabahan teas, was impeccable and friendly. (*Note: there is filtered water available in the hallway, including nearly boiling hot water which was perfect for making a quick cup of instant coffee or tea in the room). But best of all was the location. The Inn is a few steps away from Gaya Street, which is the home of KK’s famous Api Api Night Market (held every Friday & Saturday evening) and the weekly Sunday morning market. Taking these markets in while you’re in KK is a must. We were also very close to a nearby sports park which afforded us a great space for morning workouts. And we were centrally located to things like the Jesselton Jetty (your jumping off point to the islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park), the waterfront seafood restaurants and markets, a host of local KopiTiams and small restos.

So, let’s get first impressions out of the way. This is an older property in the heart of KK’s Chinatown. The “fit and finish” is certainly in need of a refresh. For example, the peeling wallpaper in the hallway on our floor was unappealing to say the least. And the wall plug that was disconnected from the wall was functional, but disconcerting. To be clear, the rooms are tiny. There was no closet of any description in our room, and very, very limited floor space to put our suitcases. There is no vanity to speak of, and only a small shelf in the shower space for things like shampoo etc. This hotel (almost hostel) clearly caters to short term stays with very little luggage.

The hotel is in old Kota Kinabalu downtown surrounded by restaurants and convenience shops. Walking distance if you want a seafood dinner at a Nadirasa Recipe at a Filipino market. I would recommend a short stay in this hotel as the location is near from airport.

The TV does not work no channel is available to watch. There is no mineral water in the room. They provided the coway water dispenser outside the room.

Amazing value for money. Comfortable and clean enough room. Great shower, best I have had in south east Asia! actually stayed hot for ages and powerful. The property kept our bags safe for 5 days when we went to Sandakan (Sepilok, river ect) which was super helpful and appreciated. Breakfast included which was good for price. Very central, easy to walk to restaurants shops ect, even to ferry. Only short and cheap Grab taxi from airport.

Wi-Fi didn’t work on floor 3 but was good on floor 1. We had a stain on our bedding, cleaners could have been more thorough but bathroom was clean. Breakfast was ok, good Asian choices but no western choices, could be better by just adding some toast or cereal to give a western option. The breakfast was also cold when we went at 8:30.

Room had a good amount of space, was clean and the beds were comfortable. Room and bathroom were clean and shower worked well. Location of hotel was great, quite central on the strip so easy to walk up or down to different destinations. AC also worked well. Water filter in the corridor was very nice to have, filling up my bottle in the morning was much preferred to buying bottled water every day.

Shower didnt have a door so entire bathroom got wet whenever anyone showered.

No breakfast at this Inn, but located close to restaurants large mall, night market, shops. Variety of ethnic and western foods to choose between.

Walking in, lobby did not give good impression, but our room was clean and beautifully decorated. Wonderful separate shower with glass door. Toilet behind its own glass door. Huge mirror and double sinks. Staff very helpful! Park on closes side street to Inn and location of vibrant Night Market on Friday and Saturdays. And Sunday Market on street behind hotel. Short walk to ferry.

Newly renovated room, clean bathroom, very spacious, lots of space so we could put our bags ☺️ Easy to get grab cars, situated next to a convenient store, you can park your car right in front of the hotel (you have to buy the ticket yourself tho & it's affordable, loveeee the lightings both in the bathroom & bedroom 😍 Really thankful for the hotel staffs as they let us check in early as we were exhausted from the long trip! Overall, would love to stay here again!

It can get really loud at night due to the road outside, very slippery tiles in the bathroom, a small refrigerator would be nice for the room & finally the aircond, it can get really hot at night, but otherwise, it works perfectly fine! 😄

Perfect small place just at the center of Kota Kinabalu. Room is very comfortable, AC works perfect, and the bed is super cozy. It was a cooler with drinking water at my floor which is amazing. Locations is walking distance to the night market, the harbor and hips of cafes and malls. They also do have restaurant just next door with great local dishes and the 24 hours convenient store. Was not able to try the breakfast though, as i was away all the time)

It’s no amitiés like shampoo and stuff at the bathroom, which is not a problem for me, but you should keep in mind before arriving

Location is very strategic I guess since they have morning market at the back of the hotel. Also can walk around 10-15mins to Filipino market. Lots of market around the hotel for people to shop for souvenirs! Recommended!

-Parking spot have to search around because no reserved park for hotel guests. -Road jam if want to travel around the area by transport.

Overall the place is strategic. I love it’s location. Vicinity to Jesselton Point & Suria Shopping Mall. And also it’s vicinity to eateries.

Family unit of 4. But we were given only 1 set of cup & glass. So we were sharing 1 cup & 1 glass. Also no place to hang out towels in the bathroom.
