Nice location and extremely nice people that work there! Sooo helpful. Big rooms with very nice views.

The only thing I didn't like (and that's just me) were the carpetground... They get dirty fast (and it actually showed there). I don't like carpets in the hotel

Nice view over the sea (sunset) and to some of the islands. Comfortable beds, good AC. KK is very car-oriented and quite pedestrian-unfriendly, but there is a raised walkway, covered against sun and rain, from the back of Horizon Hotel to the Central Market, with the Night Market not very much further along the coast.

Breakfast area gets crowded and very noisy, with many people obviously enjoying the wide range of breakfast choices for the Asian palette. However, we sorely missed more good quality Western-style breakfast options, vegetarian and non-vegetarian; coffee is atrocious (and it's not worth paying extra for supposedly better brew).

Beautiful rooms, spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool on the 6th floor is probably the best in the city: it’s huge and perfect temperature to cool down on a humid and hot day. Amazing vistas over the city and the waterfront up to the islands

Breakfast was hectic, lots of choices but popular food like scrambled egg, omelette, hash browns, pancakes etc were quickly finished by the crowd and took forever to be refilled. We sat in the breakfast room for approx. 30 min and pancakes and french toast were not filled up during this time.

The location is good. The breakfast was great, and there were various foods to choose from!

The lighting in the room is too dim.

Everything! The staff, facilities, room, bed, pillows, reserved parking area and breakfast. all superb!

The room is stunning with a big bathtub to make use of (headsup, the bathtub is in the middle of the room with no partition, so if you travel with friends know what to expect - the shower is closed off/private though), the be is comfy, the water in the shower is hot, the wifi works fine, the aircon works well, the view is... okay haha but the central location makes up for it! Right next to the food district

The breakfast is just okay, i would prefer more diversity because every day is the same, but the basics are covered and it is replenished easily. The pool is on the roof, with only 3 to 5 beds, so if your goal is to relax poolside, this might not be the place. The gym is better stacked than most but will not be the same as a real gym... and I wish their water dispenser was inside the gym iso at the pool area but those are minor things.

My recent stay at Horizon Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who went above and beyond to ensure my experience was memorable. Their helpfulness and genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. We have also received an exceptional service when I needed a short visit to local medical center and manager and staff took us there and assisted all the way and brought us back with their own car. The hotel’s location is a major advantage. Situated conveniently near popular attractions and I found it easy to explore the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Kota Kinabalu. Whether I was shopping or dinning everything was just a short distance away. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The selection was impressive, offering a delightful array of local and international dishes. Every morning started on a high note with delicious food that catered to all tastes. The dining area was also well-maintained, providing a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy my meals. Overall, Horizon Hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect. With its excellent service, fantastic breakfast, and prime location, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu.

A pool is a little on a smaller size and the area around it only for couple of people on the sun bed but it isn’t get too busy during our stay. But I can see how this could be a disadvantage if there are more people wanting a fresh moment.

Easy and plenty parking spaces, spacious and comfortable room. Cleanliness is satisfactory but can improve especially in the bathroom. Quiet despite the location, delicious breakfast, convenience store just across the hotel. Pasar besar, pasar filipina, gaya street are within walking distance. Staff very friendly

Too jammed in front of the hotel if you're driving because of the location, no free parking. I hope the pillow could be more fluffy like the usual hotel pillows.

Location perfect. Friendly and welcoming reception. Very clean, spacious and comfortable room with large windows, of which one small, high, window could be opened. The ocean side rooms have expansive views,and of the sunset too. Pool was large, and great to cool off and relax although there is only space for 2 loungers there are also chairs and tables by the bar. Breakfast was so varied there is something for everyone. Would stay again.

Downside, a minor one; the room air con has no ‘quiet’ mode although is has low fan mode, got use to it after the first night.
