Our stay at Casa Del Mar was perhaps the most ideal, relaxing stay we have ever experienced. My husband actually sat still for several days, poolside, and read a book (!!!), dipped in the pool occasionally, slept in the shade, meditated on the ocean scene spread out before him (jet skis far enough in the distance to be interesting but not noisy, parasails colorfully dotting the warm blue skies against puffy white clouds). Breakfast was declicious with western and suburb local offerings—-and plenty of everything. Bar service was exceptional throughout the day. We dined on site one night and the menu, food, and service on the beach was, again, exceptional. The entire staff was all smiles and eager to please—-we felt so very welcome. And—drum roll: the turndown service each evening was charming! We would go out to dinner (the hotel is steps away from the throng of downtown Cenang with all it’s shopping and dining options) though the facility itself feels miles removed) and when we’d return to our room, the lights were dimmed, soft jazz was playing on the internet radio, the sheets were exquisitely “turned” with clever little tokens of paper messages about the weather forecast for the next day, suggestions of what to do, etc. It was like getting a fortune cookie on your bed (without the calories!). Speaking of calories, as part of the turndown service, they also provided large ceramic mugs with fixings for either tea or hot chocolate. And they always had a jar of peanuts and coconut cookies to nibble on throughout the day. And we strongly encourage folks to reserve a “high tea” at least one afternoon. Their tiered trays of savory and patisserie dainties was just as delightful as everything else. We originally considered staying at the hotel further north—-the one with the rooms out over the water. But we opted to be within walking distance of town/activity and we are so very, very glad with out choice. Casa Del Mar is an exceptional hotel and great value!

Any complaints are shared by all the venues we’ve stayed at in SE Asia: No outlets in the bathrooms (for hairdryers, etc.) and not enough towel/misc. hooks. But these omissions were MINOR inconveniences compared to how exceptional everything else was (and, again: nowhere else we stayed had these amenities either, so I assume it’s a cultural norm, not a “flaw”).

The staff were amazing in every aspect and could not fault anything. We felt as we were the only people in the place as we were greeted by name and a wam friendly smile every and all day. Breakfast was very good, dinner wonderful and bar staff warm and friendly. Massage was excellent and very relaxing. Hats off to all just had a wonderful time.😊😊😊 It was so relaxing we have already booked for next year

From reception to departure everything went delightfully well. The welcome glass of ginger lemon was indeed very welcome on the very hot day we arrived. Every member of staff greeted us whenever our paths crossed. The breakfast was more than adequate, with the unexpected option of making your own cocktails if the mood took you - and many did just that! Menus were perfectly OK with a wide range of choices. We enjoyed dinner on the beach one evening: just delightful.

Leaving! Oh for the time and money to stay at Casa del Mar for much longer.

We had the most relaxing week in years. The excellent staff service, hospitality and courtesy combined with the quality of food and general peaceful ambience of casa del Mar left us wanting to book a return holiday as soon as we can. Its location at the quiet end of the beach is great. We swam in the pool and the sea. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and good selection of shops for souvenirs and gifts. Loved our room too. A studio with sea view.

fantastic experience from start to finish. smooth checkin (they were kind to allow us an early checkin by 4 hours). our room was clean and spacious. the pool area and the jacuzzi was well-maintained, perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring. the food was really good too, a mix of traditional and international cuisine. exceptional customer service. the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.

Great location by the beach. Some of the staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean and quiet.

We needed help at one point while outside the hotel and didn't get much attention when we called the hotel. They won't go out of their way much. Restaurant staff are nice, food is good, but atmosphere isn't lively. Needs more music and energy.

We liked everything about our stay here. The staff, the food, the amenities, the beach access, the rooms. Everything was lovely. We loved spending time by the pool with a complimentary jug of ice water. We also really enjoyed the breakfast selection.

We did have to buy a compulsory Christmas Day dinner, which we weren’t aware of prior to our arrival. The dinner was tasty, but very expensive. The treadmill in the gym was also broken.

Overall, it was an incredible experience. The rooms are spacious, clean and offer an amazing view. The breakfast is simply superb - there is a diverse buffet but also a la carte menu with lots of delicious dishes. Even the pastries and jams are homemade (loved the screwpine and coconut jam). The staff is very friendly, polite, and guests receive a daily newspaper made exclusively for Casa Del Mar as well as daily weather forecast notes. Guests can have dinner directly on the beach and enjoy the fantastic night beach views. We will definitely return to this hidden gem!

The staff are exceptional and need to be protected at all costs. There is a fantastic attention to detail and we felt very looked after. The location is great at the quiet (and clean) end of the main beach. The pool is lovely looking out onto the beach. Food was great across all meals. Breakfast buffet is just enough but you are also able to order as much of the hot menu which we appreciated.

We were upgraded to a junior suite from studio beachfront at no cost by the hotel, how thoughtful of them since it was our wedding anniversary getaway. The four post bed proofed its soundness, the bedding was clean, smells great & soft, slept really well too. The en-suite bathroom was very spacious & clean. Highlight was the crew, they showed exceptional hospitality skills & their thoughtfulness was genuine from day one to the last day, even see us off as we sadly leave the hotel. I'm definitely coming back just because of the crew treatment & hospitality.
