The park area was an absolutely stunning venue for our mountain getaway. The Peak Lodge we stayed in was perfect for our family of four. With perfect uninterrupted views of Mount Kinibalu we could not have wished for a better place to stay and would definitely want this again when we return. The bliss of being able to sit on the balcony as the sun rose or set and enjoy a tea or a glass of something in such a peaceful place cannot be understated. The trails around the park were lovely and full of wildlife, and it was a great location for exploring the other sites around MK Park. The Resturant on site served a great breakfast with plenty of variety to suit all palates. The other meals on offer are also very good quality. We will definitely be back to stay.

The bathroom facilities are very scruffy, tired and need to be updated. It makes it feel less clean than it actually is. The value in the stay is in the location and the main areas of the lodge. The bathroom let this down and meant that I could not give it a 10.

When I faced some problems, the senior staff and manager acted immediately. The view at the resort is green and relaxing. Simple breakfast and good.

For a resort, the rooms need to be renovated, and there should be continuous hot water (for showers) since the place is cold at night. However, for high-end lodges (ie, more expensive), the facilities are much better. The road has many potholes, which is very dangerous for a self-driving car; in case of a punctured tyre, it will ruin the holiday (must act immediately).

Perfect for backpackers — nice view, comfy bed, and affordable price. The room is spacious, with complimentary drinking water and snacks provided.

Just that it’s a bit dusty in the corner/near the plug point. Shared bathroom: One of the sinks is partially clogged, and the toilet’s cleanliness is probably around 8/10. Poor soundproofing: Pros – you can hear birds chirping and insects chatting; Cons – you can also hear your loud next-door neighbor, people chatting in the corridor, and footsteps on the wooden staircase amplified.

The location within the National Park is very good, and provides easy access to the walking trails. The Rock twin lodge where I stayed was very quiet and you are very much inside the forest. The windows have insect screens so you can have the windows open without any insects coming in. I was pleasantly surprised there were no mosquitos or other biting insects at any time during the stay, even thought the main doors were always open. There were two towels in the room even though the description in Booking.com says they are for hire. Conversely the tea and coffee making facilities shown in the room do not exist, but there is a boiling water dispenser and tea, coffee, creamer etc in the kitchen at the end of the building. The building has no air conditioning, but the altitude means it is fairly cool, and slightly damp in the time I was there. I guess the daytime temperature was about 18 degrees (August). All the staff I spoke to were pleasant and helpful. The restaurant served really good food and generous portions. It looked expensive at first glance but you got what you paid for. I would definitely go back.

The large map at the entrance to the park is out of date and the indicated cafe at the entrance does not exist as a cafe any more, and obviously hasn't for some years. The exterior building maintenance is very poor and I was surprised to see missing roof tiles and rotten barge boards along one side of the roof of the restaurant. I don't know who owns the buildings. Is it Sutera, or the National Park, or a third party?

The area is very unique and mountain (when you can see it) is beautiful. We stayed in Nepenthes King room as booking covers many different property types here. Room was in good location (Unit 12 at end), fairly private with deck next to the trees. Bed and room was comfortable and spacious. Could be a dream with better service and info.

Labels, and room/park info needed. Staff were all kind and pleasant but overall, everything was disorganized from check in to transport, and maintenance. Feels like their was no overall manger. There are outside spot lights that get turned on (and light room through top windows) but we were not sure how to turn off. They responded first night but not second until we actually found slightly hidden switch outside on our approach deck. Very frustrating that they didn’t just tell us about switch!!! Overall, park seems to only focus on climbers and is missing big opportunity for other non climber visitors. Printed materials of walk times and trails out of date.

This review is for our accomodation from 19 to 21 December 2023 at Summit Lodge, Garden Lodge, Peak Lodge 1 & Peak Lodge 2. The accomodations are comfortable, niece ambience with great view of the Mount Kinabalu and perfect natural surrounding atmosphere. We did see Rainbows too. Very relaxing .Staff. Accomodative and Responsive Service Staff in all areas. Great food served at the Liwagu Restaurant.

The Slow or no wifi connection at all. The TV in Peak Lodge 1 is not working . Peak Lodge 1 & 2 shower tiles not clean and Summit Lodge Shower room water flooding due to unclean floor trap.

We had the king rooms with a fireplace 9- rooms smelt a bit smoky- very nice decor - lovely terrace to sit and read a book. We were in the Nepthenes suite- The nearby restaurant was excellent - food quite good- the Asian food good- very spicy. Breakfast good- nice Asian selection and pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt fruit juice and tea and coffee available. We were not there to climb the mountain but we did spend a few hours hiking some of the trails in the park.

Some of the woodwork on bathroom doors for example,e could do with a lick of paint. It’s possibly quite overly expensive for what it is- BUT it’s in a truly unique place- so I guess worth it really.

variety and fresh breakfast, nice environment, walking distance. Room is cozy with fantastic view of Mount KK. The staff are helpful and approachable. The management was very understanding and kind, they allowed me to change my booking on the check-in date due to the passing of my dad.

The toilet, is a bit run down, especially the water heater and the toilet bowl. But it's still acceptable.

We stayed at the adjoining Nepenthes villas 1 and 2 and there was wifi (for villa 2). I had expected none. Connection was generally good. Breakfast was filling although coffee was weak. The property was well-maintained with beautiful landscaping. Beds were comfortable, towels were fluffy and staff spoke excellent English and were so responsive.

It’s probably the priciest accommodation in this area but for the quality, it’s worth it.

The hospitality, view and that there was a fireplace. There were welcoming goreng pisang, warm towels, teh tarik and chocolates. Breakfast spread was good, too

The toilet was a bit old and run down. Could do with an uplift. Also there was no fan or air conditioner in the rooms which made it stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep. And the lighting was not good
