Quinta Don Jose is a lovely, comfortable and friendly hotel located close to the main areas of Tlaquepaque. Recently, I stayed three nights and found my Quinta Don Jose stay a wonderful place to be. My room was quiet, comfortable and nicely appointed with everything I needed. The refrigerator and water machine were especially nice. Of note, my room was across the street from the main building (I had to "buzz" in/out of the property which was fine.) Each morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and maybe a drink or two at the bar (Charlie was so welcoming and friendly!) One night, I ate at the restaurant and had an excellent meal served by my new friend Carlos (he was so nice and attentive!) While the pool water was a bit chilly, I used it 2/3 days and enjoyed the beautiful courtyard - it was a great way to relax from the hustle and bustle beyond the hotel property. Love Quinta Don Jose, would definitely return! 5 stars

This hotel is in a great spot in Tlaquepaque. Comfortable walking distance to restaurants and stores where the livelyness of the town is. I traveled for work alone and I felt safe walking around, always alert to my surroundings but safe. I recommend restaurant 1910 which is about a 5 min walk. I stayed in the room with the outdoor shower which was awesome, the room was large and comfy with a cultural vibe. I rated a 9 because the room had mosquitoes. I was bitten all over. I had to keep the AC low to keep the mosquitoes hidden but had to request a blanquet because the one on the bed was thin. They have a guava tree which you can ask to have one, they are delicious and sweet. There was a hammock in the patio, pool chairs, courtyard. It has it's own restaurant, Tlaquepasta, I did not eat there but my coworker who stayed in a different hotel was looking for vegetarian options ate there one night. The room has a small fridge and a filtered water dispenser. Includes continental breafast after 8am but they have more optiosns for an additional fee. I think that this is a great place in a great location close to where Tlaquepaque is known for. Bring mosquito repellant and you'll be just fine.

I didn't like that the room had mosquitoes. Everything else was perfect.

Great facility with wonderful staff in a perfect location in the heart of everything you want to see and do in Tlaquepaque (and Guadalajara). Our family of 4 stayed in the large room design for families and we had plenty of space and were very comfortable. We also loved the courtyard, gardens, turtle pond, and pool. And the continental breakfast was delicious. They also gifted my wife a beautiful rose for Mother’s Day, which was a nice touch.

The location was perfect. You are only 1 block away from restaurants and shopping, but still quiet street. Staff was super helpful for any of my questions. It was a perfect 1 night stop before heading to the airport the next morning. Perfect spot to get your last-minute shopping done. Restaurant downstairs, great option for dinner, too.

Room was good size, but little bit outdated and bathroom is very small. I didn't spend much time there anyways, so no problem for me.

The customer service was spot on. They pick you up directly from the airport to take you to the hotel. Everyone of the staff members that we encountered was so helpful and attentive. They went above and beyond to help us graciously. They have the most beautiful courtyard and beautiful plants on the property out back. Then there is the restaurant which we highly recommend. We received 5 star service beyond words. The food/service/atmosphere (live music) was simply the BEST! We also felt extremely safe where we stayed and felt protected.

The air conditioner in the first room with the balcony didn’t work but the room was my favorite. In the second room the air conditioner worked just fine.

I liked absolutely EVERYTHING about the property. It is the most beautiful hidden gem I think I’ve ever come across and I’ve travelled alot! Right in the middle of everything yet you feel away from it all (and they have secure parking on the premises)! And the staff were incredible! Estella was so helpful and friendly as I had accidentally double booked us! And Charly made us feel like we were in an episode of “Cheers” at this quaint awesome bar near their beautiful pool. Breakfast was awesome! Their menu for dinner was incredibly big too!! All in all, I would return. So much more to see and do in the beautiful town of Tlaquepaque!!!

Absolutely nothing. It’s a gem!

Staff was friendly, room was ok and spacious with great bathroom, location was near to center, breakfast provided was good.

Room was located in another house not the hotel itself (!). I felt unsecure in the area as there are no security from hotel so when going from room ( in another house) to main hotel had to.wait for.someone to.open the door in a street that doesnt have good lighting and is solitary.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and room with an outside patio and lovely grounds with pool and plenty of places to relax. Staff found us a decent ride to Lake Chapala. Enjoyed the short walk to the main streets with beautiful and whimsical street sculptures, galleries, ceramics, and clothing. Lots of room choices if you want to pay more. We were more than satisfied for the price we paid, with breakfast included.

We didn't have a problem but let them know if you are larger than average so you have room around the toilet. May just be our room. Other rooms have tubs. Ask about times for hot water.

Where do I start? The STAFF was SO wonderful and KIND. This gorgeous property was so quaint, quintessential charming Mexico. I could not stop looking around at all the fabulous Mexican touches. The location, the restaurant, the vibe and the breakfast were all fabulous!

The room I was staying in was basic which was fine but you couldn’t stand at the bathroom sink and have the door open. It was no big deal. Otherwise everything else was wonderful.

- Location very near central Tlaquepaque. - Staff extremely helpful and friendly, remembered us from a year ago. - Comfortable room, soft bed. - Jacuzzi worked well, great for sore legs after day of walking. - Breakfasts are always delicious. - Great value laundry service. - Very clean. - Rooms and grounds are charming and constantly maintained.
