We stayed four nights and very much enjoyed our visit. The facilities were very comfortable and well-maintained, and it was tastefully decorated throughout. The rooftop is a huge plus and very relaxing to hang out at. Jacob and all the staff were always helpful and accommodating. It’s in a very convenient location in Zona Romantica, slightly away from the busier roads. Most places we wanted to visit were only a 10-15 leisurely walk away. Ubers were affordable and easy to book for further trips out. We hope to stay again.

Not a fault of the property, but please note as this is a residential neighborhood, there is sometimes noise from the road including cars, music, and children playing. We expected this and utilized our sound machine. Ear plugs were also provided by the property.

Cuale Apartments has been thoughtfully designed by the owners to create the perfect stay. We were here for 8 nights and it was so relaxing. The 3rd floor apartment was exactly like the photos, stylish and comfortable with a south facing, sunny balcony. My favourite area was the roof deck. It had multiple areas for relaxing, including hammocks, furniture for dining and drinking at, and sun loungers by the pool. Architectural plants added to the look together with murals. The pool, although small, was big enough to do diagonal laps. I loved the nighttime lighting which created a beautiful ambience for supping on some of the tequila provided for guests. Breakfast of pastries and tea and coffee was supplied in the outdoor kitchen every morning. Lucy, the head housekeeper was very kind and attentive, she supplied us with a coffee maker and coffee for our room after we’d missed breakfast one day. The location is fabulous, in a quiet area but close to small, independent cafes, restaurants and bars. Also a short walk to Cuale Island, with its weekend market. This place exceeded my expectations and I will return soon.

Nothing to dislike

We absolutely loved our stay! The apartment was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, including some delightful welcome snacks and sodas. The rooftop lounge is truly a standout feature, as other reviews mention. With its hot tub, pool, cozy bar area, soft music, and breathtaking panoramic views, it felt like a slice of paradise—we’d return just to enjoy that rooftop again! The location is also excellent: it’s close to some nice restaurants and just a 15-minute walk to the heart of the Romantic Zone. We initially wondered if the walk might feel long, but it turned out to be an easy, enjoyable stroll that went by quickly. Highly recommended!

This isn’t the fault of Cuale, but it’s worth noting that the neighborhood dogs are truly dedicated barkers—they kept at it late into the night and started early in the morning. To make the most of your stay, bring earplugs and use a sleep sound app on your phone. With those little preparations, you’ll enjoy a wonderful stay.

Very comfortable space and location. The rooms come with lots of space, a full kitchen, and a very comfy bed. The location is quiet and convenient without being as busy as other parts of town. We got to fully enjoy the rooftop terrance which includes a pool, hot tub, lounge chairs, hammocks, and shower to rinse off. As a bonus, all water on the property is filtered and safe to drink. A simple, but delicious breakfast of pan dulce, fruits, and coffee is provided each morning. Staff is also extremely friendly.

The space around the bed was a bit tight and the shower has a half panel door which lets a good amount of water to spread onto the floor. Not sure if the rooftop is smoke free, but people smoking hampered our experience at times.

Rarely do pictures meet or surpass expectations! But Caule absolutely did. The location was beautiful, inviting, calm but vibrant. The bed was very comfortable, the rooms were spacious and well equipped for someone to settle in to get to know Vallarta, or to work. The roof deck was sublime, and the breakfast fruit, coffee and pastries was a lovely and unexpected touch. Wonderful location, steps from old Vallarta and even closer to the magical Cuale island.

Nothing, it was perfect. The worst part was having to leave.

I was greeted with a warm welcome. The bed was very comfortable, the jacuzzi/pool was nice after a long day of walking, the coffee and pastries were delicious. It really exceeded my expectations. The staff was very helpful and friendly and cleaned the rooms really well. They even tied up and organized my cords and chargers. I can't wait to come back.

There was nothing I disliked.

This is a small boutique hotel located in a very quiet and safe old town area by the Cuale river. We are so glad we stayed here, because we could walk literally anywhere without any issues. The room was very spacious, all appliances worked properly, bed was huge and very comfortable. The views from the roof terrace were great and we could use the rooftop pool any time we wanted! The staff are very attentive and super friendly, especially Lucy. We will definitely come back here.

Welcoming public spaces (lobby, patio, pool), spacious rooms, kitchen amenities, artistic decor, great walkable location! The staff was small, helpful and friendly. Rather than a hotel, it was like being in your own condo, but with fresh coffee, pastries and fruit every morning and fresh towels (or, whatever you needed) when you asked.

We liked it.

Room was spacious and comfortable and the rooftop pool was amazing after a long flight! Bonus was breakfast provided daily of delicious local baked goods!

Location is a bit further from the main drag/beach if you’re planning to surf everyday and carry stuff, but for us it was great to just have a quiet place away.
