Having never been to PV we weren't sure what area to stay in, we are very happy with our choice, the hotel is set back a few blocks from the beach so not much road noise but very close to everything this neighborhood has to offer. The hotel is very clean and safe and well managed. The room is very basic so my high marks are based on us knowing that and for the price you get exactly what you expect. I do suggest you bring your own instant coffee, in the morning they include coffee and toast with butter and jam, we enjoyed this light breakfast but the coffee is VERY weak, we wondered why they don't just ad a couple of extra scoops of coffee when they make it? We would definitely stay there again.

Weak coffee, wifi was pretty spotty but in general the whole area's wifi was hit and miss.

The location is great, and the value/price is right in line with what I expected. The breakfast staff was super friendly, and didn't mind me asking for a third/fourth cup of coffee. I did a long term stay here and was very satisfied with my experience.

I'd like a little more variety at breakfast than toast and coffee. It was still more than enough and there's plenty of good street food nearby, but having a little something extra to start the day would be great.

Great location, easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Staff was exceptionally helpful, we complained about the noise from the power lines along the street at the front of the hotel and associated utility box in the street (lound buzzing) and we were given a choice of more comfortable rooms to remedy. Street parking was easy but if needed there is also a semi-dedicated lot for the hotel guests. Safe area, no trouble walking.

Our first night we parked in the back of the parking lot after confirming we could exit the lot at any hour even if the gate was closed after hours. We got up before 6am ready to drive, only to discover the gate wasn't the issue, the entire lot had been over-filled with vehicles from local businesses or residents. We were 3 cars deep and blocked in. We lost about 20 minutes to sort it out and wake up the necessary people. For the rest of the trip we ignored the lot and parked on the street without issue. Likely only a concern for early risers, so bring it up with the front desk if you know you need to drive before dawn.

I had a welcoming and comfortable stay at Hotel Mocali. The staff are friendly, everything was super clean and functioning well. It's close to the relaxing parts of the beach, north of the malecon, if you prefer a less commercial vibe. It's also close to a few of the best vegan restaurants in the city which is why I chose this hotel for my short stay here. I would stay again. It's a little bit expensive compared to other similar properties but still a good price for Puerto Vallarta. I really liked the other people I met here! It's a great place to stay on holiday.

Mocali had every thing that I need: hot and cold drinking water, good wifi, nice sheets towels and pillows, very clean and the staff were friendly. It was quieter than staying in the romantic zone, but earplugs are a must anywhere in PV. (also near a Vegan restaurant with good avocado toast) I felt safe here...really enjoyed my solo stay.

Fabulous location, super front desk staff, great price. Very much appreciated the early check in and late check out. Fab online communication. We loved the small rooftop terrace. TV and internet were fine. Quiet.

Beds were hard and pillow was unusable - made my own with a towel and jacket. One slice of toast for breakfast plus coffee with only powdered milk was subpar, and the breakfast lady was dour. (Tried hard to engage her with smiles and Spanish ... nope!)

I liked how close it was to everything I needed, a laundry around the corner, my fave cafe one block away, grocery store five min walk and the Malecon 10 min walk. close to bus stops, and a few blocks from the beach!

no fridge in the room or coffee/tea, which made it hard to keep perishables. very simple room but it has charm.

Super helpful staff, even though we didn't speak the same language. Really comfortable beds. Convenient location for downtown, restaurants, the Malecon and airport. 2 blocks walk from the supermercado. Excellent AC, much appreciated during the humid August weather. Great spot for an overnight stop.

The many stairs that we had to carry our luggage up. Pretty simple decor and facilities.
