“Exceptional” was the adjective which caught our eye when we were choosing our hotel for a 6-night stay in Bacalar. The past reviews were quite accurate. We truly rested and enjoyed this petit establishment run by the charming owner Juan J. and his efficient and kind staff. The incredibly long, clean pool was a real treat. The restaurant offered a delicious and very complete breakfast which was included in the price. We had also lunch and dinner several times with superb Mexican wines . We surely would use the word Exceptional again to describe its quality. Moreover, Juan J. and his partner gave us valuable advice about what to do in the town, its beautiful Laguna and the surrounding sites.

There was one minor nuisance which was immediately taken care of by Juan J. And, therefore, it is not even worth mentioning…

Our stay at Blue Palm was Amazing! Dalia and the other staff were knowledgeable and helpful in so many ways even contacting cabs to come to our Bacalar location and returning us to the hotel. The place felt safe and was a beautiful setting and location. Juan, was a great guy and delightful host and you can tell he really cares for his property and that the guest enjoy their time there. The Breakfast's are a wonderful variety of foods. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed meeting Juan and the staff. We plan on returning in the future. Jeff and Lauren ❤️❤️

Could use some pool side umbrella's for shade and maybe a few more places to hang towels and bathing suits in the bathrooms.

Unforgettable Stay at Blue Palm Bacalar This was my wife and I first time visiting Bacalar, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience than our 5-day stay at Blue Palm. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The customer service was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly friendly and attentive. A special thanks to Lluvia, who helped me schedule all of our tours before our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The team at the reception, including Lluvia, was extremely helpful and always available to assist. Even when we checked out, they prepared breakfast for us to take, which was a huge help at the airport. One evening, it was raining during dinner, and Lluvia was on the lookout for all the guests. As we were heading to our room, she was waiting outside with an umbrella for us—that’s what I call top-notch customer service! The rooms were modern, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were incredibly cozy, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The pool area is serene and perfect for unwinding. The food was delicious—both breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing. The free breakfast offered many tasty options, and every meal was fresh and flavorful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Blue Palm Bacalar is beautifully maintained, and while the pictures are stunning, it’s even more impressive in person. This hotel truly made my first visit to Bacalar unforgettable. Thank you, Blue Palm, for your amazing hospitality. It was an experience we’ll never forget, and we can’t wait to return!

Everything. From start to finish our stay was amazing. First the service was excellent and made our stay. Lluvia on reception was wonderful - she gave us lots of recommendations and useful tips and helped book our boat tour and taxis. She also helped changed our boat tour a couple of hours before without any problems. All staff were super friendly and spoke great English (thank you!). Breakfast and bikes included was great. Perfect location - everything within walking distance and felt very safe. Hotel room and hotel itself were beautiful and clean. Room was really spacious with lots of storage and shelves for our things. Bed is also very big. It was nice to have a balcony with the hammock to relax on on a rainy day, and the pool area was lovely with beautiful plants which separated the sunbeds making it feel more private but could also chat to other guests easily.

Our 5 day stay at Blue Palm Bacalar was the highlight of our 3 week exploration of the Yucatan Peninsula. When researching our options for where to stay in Bacalar, we initially considered waterfront properties. However, given that many of the waterfront properties were much more expensive, had mediocre reviews and were often further from central Bacalar, we chose Blue Palm Bacalar for it's central location, excellent reviews and comparative value. The owners of this property are absolutely delightful and put their heart and soul into ensuring their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, offering well-working A/C, a comfortable bed, nice showers and lovely decor. A delicious breakfast is provided at the onsite restaurant, Mistura, where we also enjoyed several excellent evening meals (kudos to the chef). We enjoyed hanging out around the pool, and booked massage appointments and a sailing excursion through the front desk. Bacalar is very safe and it is a short walk to the main square where good restaurants, coffee shops and bars abound. We loved Bacalar so much we've booked a 2 week stay next January with Blue Palm Bacalar and very much look forward to returning. Highly recommend.

If you are driving a vehicle, some of the streets are in pretty bad shape so be careful, drive slowly and watch out for potholes. Bacalar is in the process of being discovered, which is both good news and bad news. Good news because developers will inevitably improve the infrastructure, but bad news because the original charm may be lost if this area becomes known as a popular tourist destination.

Stayed at Blue Palm one night on our way from Calakmul to Tulum. We should have stayed longer as it was such a lovely oasis in the back streets of the town. Our large room had a huge comfortable bed, was tastefully furnished, and immaculately clean. The long swimming pool is very long and imaginatively meanders between the guest rooms, and is surrounded by sun loungers and beautiful planting of tropical plants and palm trees. We ate at the associated Mistura restaurant, which served excellent food. Why stay at big resorts when there are beautifully designed boutique hotels like this?

It was a beautiful, small hotel with lovely facilities. The room was spacious and there were lots of areas to hang about in. The owner Juan was very kind and helpful. Great location too. It was also awesome to have bikes included in our stay!!

While the guide mentioned personalised tours were not available on Wednesday, it would have been helpful to us for the staff to inform us that no water activities are allowed at all on the lagoon on Wednesdays. We would have rearranged our activities. Also, it would be good to have a few more international options for breakfast.

It is a very beautiful, small boutique hotel. Location is very good, next to center and laguna access. It has beautiful pool and garden. Very well maintained. Service is very helpfull, we used their help in few emergency situations and we can say they saved a day:) If you want sailing trips book it with hotel, as private operator are really not reliable. you can as well send whatsapp message to hotel so they order you a cab if you go somewhere far and cant get one to go back. there is not too much himidity in the rooms, no mold etc. As my husband had breathing problems in previous hotel it was important for us , and in this hotel it is all good if someone has allergic issues :) owner is always there , always happy to ask how you are. We find this place as excellent to stay. For sure we would like to come back.

Lucky have stayed here, such a good choice. Bacalar is a very calm little village with not much to do. Therefore is it so important that your hotel is clean and comfortable, and Blue Palm really was! Even being in rain season there were not a lot of insects. The housekeeping cleaned very well. At first we were a little bummed we didn’t stay at a (more pricey) hotel right at the lagoon but eventually this turned out way better! The hotels at the lagoon are pricier and have more insects… Food is also better at this hotel. So relaxed to just have the restaurant downstairs. Loved it. - yes we recommend to hire a car - veggie options almost everywhere - book a tour at the reception - lagoon is actually closeby

The hotel is definitely way better in real than in the pictures. We specifically love the swimming pool surrounded by beatiful tropical plants and flowers, we really felt totally relaxed. The room is also generously spaced with bed really a good size and plenty of spaces if you have several luggages. Location wise, though it is not exactly in the center, it is a reasonable 5 minute walk to it, or at least until you see arrays of shops and restaurants. Plus they offer free bicycles to borrow during your stay there! The hotel's breakfast was a la carte but of very high quality. The staff are incredibly polite and approachable. We really enjoyed our short stay here.

There's really not much to fault in this hotel, but If we are to be really picky, we would say the shower pressure could be improved including the calibration of hot vs cold. Also we would have loved to have another whole body mirror in the actual room and not only in the bathroom.
