The central location is fantastic and you can easily walk to the fort museum, restaurants and lake front. We took the ADO bus to Bacalar and the bus station is an easy walk of about 15 minutes to the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and functional and it was great having a fridge in the room. The breakfast was simple but enough to choose from to satisfy different tastes. It was nice having the bar handy as well for an evening drink by the pool. Staff were also very welcoming and friendly.

Spacious, clean room with nice welcoming touches, water and coffee for the machine. The location is very convenient right near the lagoon, the center, bars and restaurants. The premises are quiet and peaceful. We loved chilling near the pool in the late evening. Good, filling breakfast. Also, purified water the whole included.

We liked everything about our stay.

They made sure we could go into the room as fast as possible, even though we were very early. The room was comfortable and clean.

The curtains are not wide enough. The room is on the ground floor and people can just look into the room even with the curtains closed. The walls are very thin and it's possible to hear adjacent rooms, even sing along with their songs on the radio.

Few water in shower and not hot enough.. No real bar to drink Swimming Pool of rooftop was on top of our room and some humidity problems were to be seen on the ceiling When people were using the pool streams we could hear it very well in our room .

very nice decorated, like in jungle, all clean, very friendly and helpful staff, location 5min from the beach and five from the town, calm, nice 2 swimming pools, one on rooftop, very good breakfast(fruit, eggs, toasts, jam, nutella, cacao, coffee…), nice room with balcony, we booked a tour with them and was quiet avanturistic with a sail boat…

The gardener of this property should be highly commended. Pure heaven just relaxing in garden hammocks, listening to birds, watching geckos. Also appreciated swinging egg chairs on the rooftop. Room was lovely! Thank you so much for the swan-shaped towel. So, so beautiful! Complimentary breakfast was great. Highly recommend Hotel Azul 36!

We had a very nice room with a balcony on two sides. The staff was very friendly. The hotel has an outside bar where you can order a cold beer and enjoy it next to the pool. The location is also great, just far enough away from the main square so it is nice and quiet but still well within walking distance to both the lake as well as the main square.

Very cosy hotel near center of Bacalar. Short walking distance to the lake. Very clean place and best breakfast in our trip in México - fresh fruits and juice and different kind of Mexican and internacional style options every morning!

early check-in available @ 4 am when the bus from palenque arrived. Many hotels dont do this even if the room is unoccupied 👍short walk to everything. nicely decorated rooms. quiet until the holiday crowd arrived. water cooler for water refills.

I liked everything about this small hotel. Others should learn from their example. Having water available will reduce the consumption of plastic which I see as a huge problemo.

Boutique hotel very close to the lakes and other amenities. Friendly vibe and although simply furnished it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.

Our ground floor bathroom was overlooked which made it slightly awkward when going to the toilet or having a shower. Would have liked it to be better screened to ensure full privacy.
