The beauty of the island and the hotel convinced us to give up the next stop in Tulum, nowadays impracticable, and extend our stay here. We stayed in both the bungalows and the standard rooms and we can assure they are both very nice. The hotel is on the best part of the beach and is a easy 5-10 minute walk via playa from the center of town, full of life with many bar and restaurants even on the way walking, even if the streets are flooded. In addition to the very kind staff you will be in the company of two beautiful cats and a family of raccoons. A special thanks to Adam, great concierge who helped us excellently during our stay.

Nice bungalows, close to the beach. The style is very rustic, which is nice, you feel like sleeping in the jungle. Breakfast was amazing, staff was very kind and helpful, the room was cleaned every day. Rooms were big and cosy.

Only one thing - there are no sun umbrellas at the beach, so if you want to enjoy the private beach, you have to stay exposed to the burning sun.

The overall experience is well worth it. I think they fit more into the category of a very good inn than a hotel, but that wasn't a problem. The location is one of the strong points, right on the beachfront and very close to downtown Holbox. The beach in front of the hotel is clean, free of rocks and seaweed, so you can enjoy the sea right in front of the hotel. The room is large and comfortable, although a small investment in some amenities could improve the experience inside. We stayed in the apartment, but there are also bungalows. The hotel has two swimming pools: one for adults only, in front of the beach and with a bar, and one at the back of the property, which is for families. We didn't use the adult pool with the bar, only the children's pool. The only downside is that there are few chairs and loungers. And if you stay in a bungalow near the family pool, you'll hear children playing all day. Breakfast is a huge plus; you can choose from a variety of dishes, from Mexican favorites to more traditional options like eggs and fruit. The portions are generous, so if you're traveling with your family, you can mix and match and everyone can have a little bit of everything. Tahamara, the staff member, was very attentive.

The shower stall is a bit small, with a curtain, and there's no place to put shampoo or soap; everything is left on the floor. There's also no lighting above the stall, so with a small investment, showering would be more comfortable. Some people may not like the fact that the oceanfront pool doesn't allow children. More chairs and loungers could be added to the children's pool so parents can be there with their children. If two families are there, there's no more room to relax by the pool.

Location was great. Breakfasts were a good amount of food with fresh fruit, coffee and juice and your choice of another dish. Room & bed were comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff is absolutely incredible and made out stay sooo nice. Much love to our new best friends, Tamara and Adam who were very supportive of my friend learning Spanish and always made us laugh. Tamara also scheduled activities for us and helped us rent bikes. A big thanks to Octavio, Andres, Leo, Gonzalo and Eva. Can't wait to stay here again!

Very little to complain about here. The mixed drinks were a bit weak and the bar might benefit from fresh juices for their cocktails. I also think adding hard seltzers to the menu would sell nicely.

Staff is really there for you, helping you with all your requests. Tasteful breakfast with plenty of options. Direct access to the beach. Nice small and clean pool between bungalows. As the sea was quite murky with lots of sea urchins, we have used the pool quite a lot.

The resort is promoting a spa-like feeling - spa ambiental music, scent burning sticks, refreshing towels, etc. Nice, but not something I would expect from a tropical seaside resort. As we have travelled half the world to get there, a pristine Mexican feeling would be much more appealing to us. No wi-fi in the bungalow area.

Perfect location; it was direct access to the beach - ocean, it was close enough to the busier, commercial town square to walk there and all bar foot (if you want to). Eva upgraded us to a Bungalow what we very much apricated. The bungalow was very spacious and the hammock outside the porch was a nice touch. Adam at the front desk was very helpful and was helping us to reserve a shuttle van even on his day off, thank you so much Adam. All the staff where very friendly and helpful.

Nice little hotel with bungalows and access to the beach. We liked the relaxed atmosphere, the hammocks, the bungalow, the pools and the direct access to the beach

The shower was only lukewarm, which is not I would expect from a 4 star boutique hotel. Since we only stayed 2 nights, it did not bother us too much, but I can imagine this can be a nuisance if one stays for a longer period. There was no shade on one window, so it was light in our room quite early in the morning, again, this should be basic in any good hotel.

Adam, Eva, Andrés and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. The daily breakfast was delicious, with many meals to choose from. Different, fresh juice every morning. Spotlessly clean dining area, in- and outdoors. The bungalows are very roomy, airy and have mosquito netting for the bed, as well as fully screened windows. You have air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. It is a small enough resort to make you feel welcome and recognized.

The facilities are aging, many of the wood plank boardwalks and decks are in disrepair. There are no fridges in the individual rooms. The restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner. The pool bar is not open at all. If you get a pool view bungalow, it will be at the family pool (think crying children, shouting parents, diaper-wearing kids in the pool) even if you are a senior couple. You need to choose ocean view to be by the adult only pool. "Reserving" beach chairs by leaving your towel on them is allowed. At the time we were there, there were rolling blackouts (periodic complete power outages) meaning no water available either.

I had a fantastic stay at Holbox by Xaloc, which truly exceeded my expectations. Everything was perfect—the location, the beautiful surroundings, and the unique and charming chalets. The traditional-style accommodations added a lovely, authentic touch, and the pool was a huge hit, especially with the kids. The whole environment felt like a little oasis, peaceful yet vibrant. The hotel is perfectly situated right by the beach and just a short walk to the center with all the shops and restaurants. We only stayed for one night, which was such a pity, but we definitely plan to return for a longer stay. Highly recommended!

The WI-FI was available only near the reception.

Breakfast was good location was good the staff was friendly, except for one bald I think he was a guy who worked the front desk for a day. In my opinion has no business doing that job.
