Could not recommend Almare more! From the moment we got there until we left we were amazed at the people and the facilities. The staff were amazing. Always made us feel welcomed and at home. The rooms and food/drinks offered were sensational and it was definitely worth the money. This was for our honeymoon and we cannot wait to come back! Amazing! Exceeded expectations

We just checked out of the Almare hotel after a 6 night stay. The hotel is set in a beautiful location, the staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms were great too. We felt that the food was really delicious but perhaps our only criticism was that they need to change the menu more regularly. Lastly, we just wanted to call out Alejandro at the beach bar who was absolutely incredible during our stay. He was so hard working and friendly and it was his hospitality that made our stay here so special. We will 100% return! Great hotel.

Seasalt restaurant is good, amenities are good. Staff is nice, but unprofessional.

Rooms were smelling bad, general cleanliness is not great, long waits sometimes during lunch, food was so so at the Boga place, staff is not very professional, location is not the best as in front of the beach you have a pier with busy ships coming from Cancun with loud music, so it's not really private. Coffee in the coffee shop is terrible although they have all the tools to make it great.

TL;DR: Learn from my horrible experience and don’t ever book here. Things started off promising when we booked our stay with responsive staff coordinating our transportation. Once we touched down at the airport, it was easy to find Almare staff waiting for us. When we were picked up by private car and escorted to the Renaissance hotel, we were so excited. Our wait for the boat at the Renaissance was pleasant, with delicious snacks and drinks comped. The boat ride itself was smooth and when we landed on our resort shores, we were greeted with lovely welcome drinks. We then waited at the reception. It went downhill from there.

Almare was a disappoint in so many ways. I’ve stayed at other Marriott Luxury Collection hotels (such as the Palace Hotel in San Francisco) and this one fell very short of the designation, especially when we paid €1350 per night. Everyone, you’re better off saving that and staying at a lovely boutique hotel in Isla Holbox or Playa Escondida off Oaxaca. Check-in seemed to start off well. Then it soured when we were left sitting for almost 2 hours, waiting for our room. We ended up going to the desk every 15-30 minutes to check up on the status. Rooms were stated to be ready by 3pm. We check in at 3:15pm and didn’t get in our room until 5:10pm. We immediately noticed hair and dust on the floor (see photo). This did not bode well for a start. There was no real apology either; we received excuses that it was a busy season for the new year. For comparison, our stay at the Four Seasons in Mexico City (which was significantly cheaper by nearly half), excelled in all areas of readiness despite the busy Christmas period. The food was also breathtakingly mediocre for a luxury establishment. Room service took almost an hour to receive lukewarm fries and burgers, nearly browned guacamole, and tasteless ceviche. I love food and am usually happy with room service — but what we got was something to be served at a 3-star, middle establishment. I ended up enjoying the mangoes we bought more than anything we ordered at the hotel. We only stayed two nights and I’m grateful I didn’t stay longer. The entire “resort” is tiny and the activities are quite limited. Private beach isn’t as pristine as others, with waters that are overrun with kelp. Staff were friendly, but not well trained. The single highlight was the
