This Ryad was definitely one the best experiences I had at an accomodation and definitely one the best part of our visit to Marrakesh. The staff is amazing, beyond helpful, they make you feel like royalty. The decoration is amazing, each room has it's own character. The Ryad is quite big and even when it's full you don't bump with other guests that often. The pool is a great add on after a long day at the ryad. The rooftop is enormous (great for sunsets. We ate breakfast and dinner at the ryad and the food was amazing and with good portions. I have read that the location is far, but I didn't felt that, and if you plan going to some outside tours the location of the ryad makes more sense since it's at the entrance of the medina. Overall, I couldn't recommend enough. (Also they have two very friendly cats that roam around)

Quiet in the oldest section of the Medina. It felt quite local. The property is huge with many many thoughtfully layed out spaces for relaxing, reading, painting, wine & food. The food was great. Service was lovely & excellent. The staff could not have been better. So friendly and kind. Smiles every where. Chess games, books galore. I’d live there if I wanted to live in Marrakesh. Great place away from the bustle but plenty close to everything you might want to see. You could get classic Moroccan food for a decent price or just a plain tuna sandwich. Everything was done with care. Our room was spacious and interesting in every way. Loved all the levels, pool & plants and birds. Just everything was wonderful.
Nothing.

The Riad is exceptional - very spacious with three courtyards and plenty of rooftop space. It's a decent walk to the main area through a poor area but it felt safe. Some might prefer to be closer. We travelled in February when the mornings were cold. The breakfast in the main courtyard was a little chilly at that time so warm clothing was required but the sense of space and openness compensated. There were plenty of options to eat inside. We got to swim one afternoon. The pool, while in the shade at this time of year, was heated and the sun caught the surrounds, it was glorious. Sunloungers elsewhere at different levels were bathed in sunshine. The Fatiwa room we stayed in was gorgeous, with a little patio and steps to the rooftop. Everything was so stylish and decorated to prefection. The staff were all lovely and so helpful. We loved our time in Dar Chibania.
The breakfasts were a bit on the sweet side for me - pancakes, pastries and cake with jams and honey. Some savoury elements would have been nice. The coffee went cold quickly but a fresh brew was made whenever requested.

The Riad was a truly lovely authentic calm space, away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Exceptional staff who were always on hand to assist with anything you may need. Especially Yousif. We loved all of the hidden spaces offering numerous quiet places to while away your time reading a book or the lovely roof terrace to get some sun. It was also nice to have friendly fellow guests which made it feel very homely. Our room was also very comfortable we had a lovely bed and space with dressing table and a very spacious bathroom. All beautifully cleaned daily. We would defiantly return without hesitation and recommend it to friends. If you don’t want to stay in a fancy hotel and want an authentic experience then you can’t go wrong here.
Can’t really say we disliked anything in all honesty. I was a bit apprehensive about being a long walk from town as I was traveling with my daughter (who is in her 20’s) Although it is about a 20/25 min walk to the square we felt safe walking around at night. We did have a guide on the first day however which was organised by the hotel and this made navigating so much easier. I would recommend booking restaurants ahead of time especially if you want ones who serve alcohol. These are more expensive and get booked in advance, but Yousif helped with recommendations and bookings.

we loved the authenticity and feel of Dar Chibania . It's a magical space behind a secret door . My daughter said she thought she was in a fairytale when she first entered . There are lots of quiet spots to sit .The rooftop is a lovely quiet space to sit . the staff were delightful , breakfast delicious and plentiful . this is within the Medina walls on the outskirts . only a 15 min walk into the main hustle and bustle . would definitely recommend Dar Chibania if you like historic , authentic Marrakesh and want something a bit unusual but gorgeous .
could have been slightly closer to the centre .

This is a beautiful riad in a residential area in Marrekech. Lots of beautiful interesting rooms & places to sit and relax. it has a small outdoor pool which is wonderful in the mornings for a dip or end of day. It has terraces and sun-loungers and beautiful plants and flowers , the staff in the riad go above and beyond to make your staff comfortable, a lively breakfast was provided each morning we had dinner waiting for us on our first night of arrival. The owners Isabelle and Pascal were so friendly and made sure everyone was looked after.

the whole place was magical. the staff were lovely and spoke english. the pool was large compared to other places we saw, and we had it to ourselves. the decor was amazing. the location, well, we had to walk around 15 minutes to get to any good restuarants or the markets. this was the only down side to the whole experience, especially because we were there when it was 45 degrees outside.
just the location in relation to the very touristy area. we were in a local area, with not many other tourists around.

We loved the intricate details, elegant design and a special atmosphere at Dar Chibania. Located at the edge of the busy Medina it’s a true oasis to get yourself grounded, rejuvenated and completely relaxed. The team is what makes the experience very special. We felt as we were invited as dear friends, not even customers. The whole team provides exceptional service and helps with any request the best they can. It was our vacation away from the very tiring part of the year and we arrived completely exhausted but just in a week we felt renewed and rebalanced. Loved the cats - Miel and Praline - they complemented our slightly chilled winter evenings with snuggles. Definitely recommend as a special location to rejuvenate and restore your energy in the heart of busy Marrakesh.
A small recommendation for improvement can be to make the ingredients for deliciously cooked meals more clearly specified. My partner had a mild nut allergy and it was a bit difficult to explain in English.

Authentic & Beautiful, but with a Few Drawbacks Our stay at Dar Chibania Riad was a unique experience. The Riad itself is stunning – incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of intricate details that make it feel like a hidden gem. However, our room had a noticeable musty smell, which was unfortunate, though it was still very tastefully furnished. One thing to keep in mind is that the location is a bit off the beaten path. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the main square, which we actually enjoyed, as it allowed us to experience a quieter side of Marrakech. However, on the way back, we did get lost—even though I usually have a great sense of direction! Because of this, I’d say this Riad is best suited for travelers who have already been to Marrakech before. For first-time visitors, navigating the area might feel a bit overwhelming. The staff was absolutely lovely—attentive, warm, and always eager to help. The French owners were also very kind and even helped us carry our luggage to the taxi—but only because we had booked directly through the Riad. Otherwise, we would have had to carry everything ourselves for about five minutes, which could have been tricky with lots of bags. We also had dinner at the Riad, and it was delicious—a wonderful home-cooked meal. However, the temperature inside was quite chilly. The heating in the rooms was only partially functional, and we often had to wear jackets both indoors and outdoors during breakfast and dinner. The fireplace didn’t provide much warmth, and while they did have heating lamps, they were unfortunately not turned on. Overall, Dar Chibania is a beautiful and peaceful retreat with wonderful hospitality, but it might not be the best choice for first-time visitors to Marrakech or for those traveling in the colder months. That said, we truly appreciated the atmosphere and kindness of the staff, and for experienced travelers who enjoy a quieter setting, it could be a great fit!

The most beautiful Riad in a quiet area away from the centre of the Medina. The staff were exceptional, the cleaners even quickly did our room each morning whilst we were at breakfast. There are so many areas to relax and our favourite spot was on the rooftop to sunbathe. Highly recommend to have dinner here for one night as well as the food was amazing. The riad is in a residential area so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper as there are a few cockerels close by, but this just added to the atmosphere for us. Absolutely wonderful accommodation.
