This small, boutique, hotel is in the Medina of Marrakesh. It seems to be, essentially, two homes amalgamated into one but parts of it look very old indeed and presumably is at it has been much altered over the years. Our room looked out onto a courtyard patio and small ornamental pool. The rooftop has a dining area and kitchen also there is a small swimming pool. This was ideal for breakfast. The hotel arranged a car to meet us at the airport which was most helpful. The car was able to take us to the edge of the Medina where a young man with a barrow took our luggage for the rest of the journey, into narrow streets.Tthe hotel doorway is easy to miss, set into an otherwise blank wall, a short corridor and some steps go down to the hotel reception area. The staff are all very helpful, Hashim, two Mohammed's, and Maria who with helpers, and by arrangement cooked two very good meals for us. We had a dinner on arrival and also lunch on the afternoon of our departure. Breakfast by the room, or better still on the rooftop. The hotel was able to arrange a taxi which would come and pick up close to the entrance. Taxis for a return journey were reluctant to go all the way to the door because of the narrowness of the streets. The situation is ideal, walking distance to the Medrasa Ben Youssef and not far on the Souk. Meals in the hotel can be taken by arrangement but there were good restaurants very close indeed.

We stayed at the red suite, which is very photogenic. We feel we've take back into a different era in time.

However, there were some hiccup when it comes to communication with the hotel. The airport pickup was arranged and confirmed in advance with emails. But no show at the airport and staff was not aware of the situation when we arrived. On the day of our departure, the staff confirmed she would help get some questions answered with our next hotel and got back to me through email. That didn't happen either. Although the suite we stayed was spacious and lovely with unique architectural details, the bathroom had sewer odor. I guess that might be to do with the old structure.

Great location and a very neat, old home. It was extremely peaceful and quiet, and the staff were kind, helpful, and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the dinner we ate here on one night of our stay was also quite good.

The home is so large, magnificently decorated, and old that it feels somewhat cold. While it is not a big problem and a part of the charm of the place, I would not want to stay for more than one or two nights as the accommodations (while lovely) did not feel like a homey, welcoming space. This is not meant as a criticism of the Riad itself, to be clear, just as a note on atmosphere. If you're looking for the warm, homey feeling that many riads have, this one isn't that. If you're looking for a beautiful, architecturally detailed, large old mansion to serve as a backdrop for your Marrakech trip, I highly recommend booking here.

Stunning riad, staff can’t do enough to help, great location hidden away down a quieter alley but close to lots of attractions ( 2 minute walk to Ben Yousef). Arrival is interesting! You can only get so far by taxi, then the rest is on foot with a local towing your luggage in a cart. Have a small tip ready and embrace the experience. It certainly set the tone for our trip. Within 20 minutes of arriving we were fully immersed in the chaotic and wonderful culture of Marrakech! Would absolutely stay here again.

We went out of season so the pool was a little too cold to swim in. However there’s so much to do it didn’t really matter. Kitchen is only open at set times so you have to head out for a drink/snack if you fancy one.

This accomodation is pure perfection <3 We had a pleasure to stay here couple of days and nights. Riad is so beautiful! Staff is professional, nice and helpful, whatever you need. I cannot remember all the names, but my sincere thanks to all Dar Darma crew for making our stay so exceptional :) We enjoyed also very tasteful dinner in the rooftop and relaxed by the pool and had some sun bathing. You just cannot believe how peaceful it can be inside old buzzling medina. I hope I’ll come back soon!

Superb Dar with amazing rooms/suites and super friendly staff. My husband, 9 year old daughter and I booked this very last minute for our last few nights in Morocco and stayed in the blue/grey two bedroom suite. The location is great - very central but amazingly quiet and tranquil once you’re inside or even on the roof terrace. We stayed in July so we’re so grateful for the aircon in the rooms! The staff were amazing - very accommodating and keen to help. We definitely recommend this place.

Nothing to note.

The property is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the blue suite which is probably the most beautiful room in the riad (and definitely the best room we ever had while traveling). It’s a large room with two beds and two bathrooms. The staff was helpful and very nice. Slippers and bottled water were provided upon arrival. Breakfast was good.

I found both beds uncomfortable (and so did my husband). They were noisy and stiff. Also better quality sheets would be appreciated as the ones the riad uses are quite “scratchy”. I also personally found strange that a riad of this level offers only one wine option (they have one red, one white and one rose’ all from the same producer), and that there’s no wine list to look at to also know prices. Unfortunately, the bottle of rose’ we got was really terrible so I advice to get a better wine selection.

It is a hidden gem in the middle of The Medina. The staff works very hard to exceeds expectations and the food is absolutely unbelievable. They also do a great job coordinating the airport transfer back and forth and the one day tours for you and your family. I highly recommend the cooking class, the hot ballon, and the Agafay desert trip

The staff at Dar Darma is amazing. We were always greeted with a smile and a willingness to help. We had a taxi driver, Mohammed, that they arranged for us several times. He was a very kind man and was very reliable to pick us up and take us to several locations. The staff also arranged a guide to take us through the market and several other sites for a day, Abdul. He was great to learn from, took us around the area, and bought us a few local foods along the way to try. Our room was the orange room. It was a two floor suite and was an great experience. The room has a little bit of a rustic feel but we purposefully selected Dar Darma as we didn't want to stay somewhere that felt like every other hotel we had been at. The courtyard is stunning and the rooftop is worth spending a little bit of time on.

For our first time in Marrakech the location was a little bit challenging. We did not know our way around and it was hard to get our bearings at first. It can be a little bit intimidating since it is not as close to the main area of riads. That said, the staff was beyond accommodating. They walked us to where we would meet taxis and helped give us directions until we got more comfortable.

From pictures i thought the place had a lot of old world charm so i booked one night just to see. In person it felt like a movie set, a very old one. The one saving factor for me are the 2 attendants, who always responded to my communication promptly and the one guy walked me to my service the following morning.you can tell they were very customer service oriented .

Where to begin. The place was very dimly lit so with all the stuffy furnishings and dark corners one cant really tell if the place is actually clean. The stairs are plenty and the one going to my room is steep and very narrow as if climbing an attic - i always have to watch out for fear i might miss a step, remember its not tooo bright, and fall. I didnt see any other guest around so it felt like a haunted house to me.
