The Riad is very pretty and the staff friendly and available to help.Cleanliness spot on and the rooms lovely. Only 10 mins walk to main square and easy access on foot to all the Souks. Nice terrace although a bit hot to enjoy in August for obvious reasons.

The English owner who was overbearing and made inappropriate comments which made us too uncomfortable to use the pool. We are 2 females travelling. Unfortunately his wife was on holiday if she had been present I’m sure his behaviour would have been different.

We really loved our stay here. It’s a traditional riad in a quieter, local part of the city, which gave us a different and very welcome perspective on Marrakech. We happened to be the only guests during our stay, which made it extra peaceful, yet the staff were still incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The building is full of character and very well kept.l and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It felt calm, personal, and like a very genuine experience. We would definitely recommend it, and thanks again to the whole team for this incredible welcome!!!

We loved our stay here, only comment is the entrance is slightly tucked away from the road it is in and can be hard to find at first!

The staff were all super nice, always with a smile and willing to help. A credit to themselves and the riad. Breakfast was nice with lovely fresh fruit and Moroccan tea. They also arranged for breakfast to be served early on our last day as we had to get to airport prompt, which was very thoughtful of them. The location was easy to get to and from the main square and to pick-up/drop off points. Has the authentic picturesque aesthetic of what you would want from a traditional Riad, and a great base for your Marrakech experience.

In our room (Saha) it was extremely noisy till very late on all nights of our stay, even till after 1am - seemed to be the TV/radio in an adjoining building, not Riad Smara's fault, but nonetheless it was EXTREMELY loud, and after a long day not what you want to have to listen to when trying to get to sleep. Something to note: You can hear the noise of the hustle and bustle quite clearly outside, and even occasionally other guests not being considerate, which although didn't bother us, may be an issue for others. Would definitely recommend taking ear plugs.

Loved our stay at Riad Samara. It was central enough for the short walk to the souks which after 10-15 minutes lead you directly to the hustle and bustle of Jemaa El Fna but also out of the way enough to be quieter than those in the souks and main square. The staff were amazing, met the owner George who was very welcoming and great to chat to. Zakaria, and the team were fabulous and could not do enough to help. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and as if the Riad was our home throughout our stay. Zakaria offered us great suggestions of places to eat during our stay and both though very different were fabulous in their own right. Breakfast at the Riad was delicious and authentic with a little different variation each day. The room was really comfortable and had a great night sleep. Though as with anywhere within the Medina, the sounds of the Medina at night or waking up are often heard along with the early calls to pray. I loved this authenticity and found to be all part of the experience but if you are a light sleeper, I would advise to bring earplugs. Lovely rooftop terrace to sunbath when you want to take a rest from the hustle and bustle of the souks and square. With a plunge pool in the centre of the road to cool off. I really enjoyed my stay here and can highly recommend. Thank you to George Zakaria and everyone else for a fabulous stay. I look forward to returning to Riad Samara in the future. ☺️

Had a great stay here during our time in Marrakech. The riad is stunning and the location is great within close walking distance to the main attractions but far enough away from the busy areas. The biggest selling point for here is the staff they are a credit to the riad and cannot do enough for you. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff and any questions we had about the area they were happy to help and always very friendly. Probably the friendliest and nicest people I have come across during my travels. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Only slight complaint is the beds are a bit hard

I purposely booked a room with two single beds and they gave it to somebody else promised that I could have it back the next day but never forgot it so then I had to share a bed with my friend . Spent a long time finding a Riad I had single beds so it’s extremely annoying and uncomfortable sharing with a bed with somebody you don’t want to share a bed with. You really need to think about this next time.

We very much appreciated the people working at this accommodation - Zakaria, Ashraf, Hassana, Mina and Malika. They are very professional, helpful and warm-hearted. The Smarna is nicely decorated and has a good terrace. The location is good because it is at one end of the Medina and a short walk from taxis.

Bath rooms were a good size but at least one of the rooms had a bath tub/ shower where it was impossible to stand on both your feet. The staff was very helpful in moving us to a different room.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. The location was ideal—right in the heart of the medina yet wonderfully tranquil, making it the perfect base for exploring the city's streets. The bed deserves a special mention as well—it was so comfortable that I woke up feeling refreshed after our full days. The attention to detail and the warmth of the hospitality made this stay truly unforgettable. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Marrakech!

I would highly recommend Riad Smara to everyone who is looking for traditional, clean and central Riad. Is very close to Medina app 7 min walk. Even though is close to Medina you can not hear any noise from the busy roads during the night. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We have been welcomed by George the owner who made our stay even more special. He prepared traditional mint tea for us when we arrived and gave us some information about Medina like which restaurants are good to try...etc We felt like we are part of the family rather then just staying there as the visitors. We will definitely come back to this beautiful Riad on our next adventure in Marakesh.
