The staff especially the young guy on reception were 1st class; very helpful and welcoming. He walked me to a local cafe so I didn’t get lost. He helped me to my taxi upon departure. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. The pool was great although small. The location was brilliant, so easy to access. The restaurant food was great and the chocolate cake was heavenly. The riad style was perfect for an authentic holiday.

The WiFi wasn’t good in the bedroom. Excellent by the pool and roof terrace, great in the courtyard. But didn’t work in the bedroom unless I was in the bathroom.

Beautiful property - the rooms were really the highlight, very comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms with amazing rain showers with great water pressure. Rooftop pool and sun loungers were excellent, the entire hotel is so peaceful. Breakfast was very generous with a wide selection, lots of pastries and fresh fruit. The courtyard is beautiful and the seating on the roof also offers panoramic views over the medina. Even though I arrived early in the morning, my room was already ready which was most appreciated. The location is perfect and easy to find, it is situated at the edge of the medina so you only have to walk about 5 minutes with your luggage. The hotel itself is in a peaceful area but still only 7 minutes or so from the main souks in the medina. The hotel is right next to the Kasbah and the beach so if you want to visit the sights and go to the beach and swim this is definitely the place to stay. There are also some good options for food nearby too. The staff were very friendly and organised, everyone was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable. The reception is 24/7 so there is always someone waiting to let you in which is was great! Overall I had a wonderful stay, 10/10 - definitely recommend!

Our stay at Dar Shaan was wonderful - we cannot recommend it highly enough! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The riad is beautiful decorated, furnished and maintained and has a really warm feel. The rooftop has a great outlook over the city and was well setup (despite us visiting in off peak season). The location is excellent - in the Medina but close to exits to explore other parts of the city.

Overall the stay was just excellent, but we did notice that the wifi was a bit slow / struggled to connect in some parts of the hotel.

Location was great- pretty easy to find with google maps in among the medina. The staff were a highlight- they were all friendly and helpful, even putting our drinks in their fridge as our room did not have one. Room was comfy with good aircon and great shower. The pool was nice, with some deck chairs around although it did get busy during the afternoon. Breakfast buffet was delicious with a spread of savoury and sweet, juice and tea/coffee. They had filtered water station so we were able to fill up our bottles instead of buying water which was awesome. We were able to pay for our room with card and the checkout process was smooth.

We stayed in the room right outside the courtyard on the ground floor. It would have been nice to have some blackout blinds for the window shutters as it got light very early.

The Riad is very beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was great. It was nice that they provided filtered drinking water for free.

As is probably the case in all riads in the Medina, the rooms have limited privacy due to having non-insulated windows facing the courtyard, but it didn’t really bother us. The roof was nice but we didn’t use it much due to the cool weather when we visited (late April).

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Shâan and would recommend it to anyone staying in Rabat. It is beautifully decorated throughout with a tranquil, leafy central courtyard and several roof terrace areas with a lovely small pool. The bed was very comfortable with high quality linen and it was the only Riad we stayed in that had a separate toilet in addition to the shower. The staff were so welcoming and helpful - we had great support from Ayoub and the rest of the team. The Riad is a short walk from the majestic Oudaya and the beach, with spectacular views of the coastline. It is also within the walls of the medina and it’s wonderful to wander through the maze of streets taking in all the sights and sounds.

The room in this riad was exceptional in every respect. The staff were very amiable and helpful with plans for visiting the medina and the other sights. The breakfast was very good.

We opted to have dinner here and only several other people had dinner as well. The tagine was not up to par, the chicken was skimpy and the wine was several days old. The complaints were also voiced by the other quests. The service was great but unfortunately he was a bit at a disadvantage. I discussed the dinner problems with the staff and they agreed and said to tell management of the issue. Other than dinner, we would stay here again without a second thought.

Charming property in a great location in the medina. Close to everything but in a very peaceful street. My room was on the second floor, I would maybe avoid rooms on the ground floor as they might not be so quiet. Having travelled to other Moroccan cities before this was my first visit to Rabat – I absolutely loved it and will without doubt return.

To my taste, the breakfast eggs were a little weird.

For a one night stay the property was well located to see the ocean and some of Rabat’s major sites. The breakfast service was lovely and in warmer weather or with more time we would have loved to use the terrace space and pool. We felt very safe within the Riad, including with our ground floor room.

Using the Apple Maps application the property was incorrectly marked. It is on the same street within the Medina but just be prepared to walk along the street to find the entrance.

Really nice place and the swimming pool is very welcome when it get's warm. It's a mix of traditional Morocan mixed with some more modern influences in for example the breakfast.

We had a room on the ground Floor and here you get a lot of noise from the indoor area. When people start checking out at 6am you will be awake and also the isolation of the rooms is not that good so you can follow the discussion of your neighbors.
