A lovely hotel, slightly faded grandeur, with Moroccan style decor, dark carved wood and lattice staccato, doormen were courteous and in traditional dress, and there is a Jazz Bar with live music in the basement. I felt like I was in a 40's or 50's era movie, which I actually loved. The bedroom was clean and neat and had a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden area, and was cleaned daily. The breakfast, though limited in variety and the same every day, was fine, and the best part was the lady making and cooking crispy Moroccan folded pastries, and the man who would make you an omelette. So I was more than happy. The hotel has a Beach Bar, with live music on the weekend, at the beach, which is a 30 minute walk, or a 2 euro taxi ride, I was told they have a driver who will take you if you ask at reception. Sadly, I never had the chance to experience this due to my circumstances. Maybe next time. The Jazz Bar also served full meals which seemed to be served until 10pm. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. There are lots of places to eat nearby and the hotel is situated on the edge of the main city with big shops just 10 mins walk away, yet in a quiet neighbourhood.

I was here in January, so the hotel was very quiet, except at night when 2 of my 3 nights were disturbed by noisy folk in the next room, fighting, shouting and crying. I rang reception who came and spoke to them, but they carried on talking loudly out on the balcony, and raising and lowering the shutters very disrespectful guests. It would have been nice if the Jazz Bar music was a bit more upbeat and funky to dance to.

Very good location, walking distance from main shopping areas and restaurants. Room was very spacious and clean. Our room over looked the beautiful pool and gardens. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the dining area by the pool with lounge areas, bars and live music. Jazz was great.

There was a large group of youngsters staying in the hotel and on our last night, they decided to sing and make lot of noise, including swimming in the pool at 2:30 am. Slightly disturbed, I guess hotel staff should have done something about it a bit earlier.

A true Moroccan palace with fantastic traditional decoration, served with the nicest and friendliest staff that spoke 4+ languages, always smiling people, perfect outdoor area atmosphere, perfectly located (far from the crowds yet close enough to the main points and medina on a 15 min walking distance), authentic Moroccan breakfast made right in front of you (I’m going to miss the Moroccan crepes), room in good maintenance, definitely the best price/quality hotel I’ve been in my life

It doesn’t have a hairdryer

Located on a relatively quiet street, Chellah was our first stop in Marocco. The reception and restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly, most conversant also in English or French. Our room was spacious and the windows shuttered from the street. The breakfast room is beautiful, with plenty of options and good Maroccan coffee. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the room kept spotless every day. The bar and pool area are great for relaxing after a day sightseeing. About 100m away on the same street is Omeza.. a wondrous surprise coffee, cake and icecream extravaganza! The medina and Gand Socco is about 15 mins walk away.

an in-room safe would be good

A family hotel where everybody makes you feel at home. Freshly baked M'semen for breakfast, central location. The garden and pool are a small oasis of green and blue in this bustly city. It is a city center hotel in a busy noisy city so don't expect silent nights, if you fear noise ask for a room facing the pool, they are more quiet. Also worth noting there is live jazz most evenings, very nice!

I must say, I rather liked this hotel. It's ever so convenient, being just a stone's throw away from the town center. The staff, quite the professionals, they were. And the cleanliness, top-notch, I must admit.

The elevator, it's a bit on the antiquated side, rather creaky, if you ask me. My room happened to be on the 5th floor, and the noise from that ancient elevator's engine was dreadfully loud. And as for the room itself, well, it was quite petite, just 20 square meters, which felt rather cramped.

Great location. beautiful pool. My room had a nice view. Breakfast had some good options. Loved the A/C because it was a little but hot in the city.

They didn't change our sheets. A lot of the stuff in the room was broken (plugs/curtains/shower plug/window handle). The price was kind of high for these problems. But the good definitely outweighed the bad.

This has a retro feel about the place but was really good value. We loved the pool area and the gardens. It was quick to the beach and loads of places to eat near by and in the hotel. The room was a classic 3 star with a good tv and nice bathroom. Close Walk to Medina as well!

You pay for what you get!

I have stayed at Chellah 6-8 times before and I like it`s classy style, the garden and the restaurant. Nice friendly staff and the location is perfect.

It`s a pity that they have stopped serving breakfast (neither no coffee at noon) And I think they have raised their prices a little bit to much. But I will go back when bringing family, kids comes along (because pool, garden)

Smashing stay x 2. Fantastic buffet breakfast every morning and a great jazz bar in the basement with 3 excellent musicians from the Ivory coast playing nightly. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is fine, near cash points, an ice cream parlour and restaurants
