I was here 2 years ago, and the hotel was already decent compared to most others in Thamel. This year it significantly improved. Especially the staff is noticable better trained. It says 3 stars on the outside, but that has to be a mistake. Services, Location, Amenities and Hygene make it for sure deserve another star.

There is no pool or rooftop access, sitting outside would be a great addition to this already great hotel.

Breakfast had a nice selection. I liked there was access to fresh fruit in the morning and at dinner. I appreciated that coffee like a latte was free with the breakfast in the mornings.

It was a bit crowded and sometimes hard to find a table at peak time. That can be hard as a solo traveler as larger groups can be disrespectful to solo travelers. They overlook that they are hugging space. I was charged for a bottle of water one evening, the same bottle that was provided as complimentary in the room. Makes no sense. Dinner there was a bit too much Indian food on the buffet.

Having stayed in most of the class hotels in Kathmandu in the past like Hilton , Yak & Yeti, Holiday inn etc., we would choose following four factors which are outclassed others and have excited us the most : 1. Excellent staff - Extra courteous , energetic, proactive and humble staff in front desk, restaurant and room services particularly we would like to specifically appreciate (whose names we remember) Ms. Priya, Mr.Bivek, Mr. Aman, Ms. Maujl apart from others (Whose name we do not remember),These are some of the gem of staff, who in our opinion an asset to the hotel. 2. Excellent Food-The Food in the restaurant is excellent and worth praising. The taste whether continental or Indian or local is quite tasty . We would specifically appreciate the services of Chef on duty on 21st May ,2024 night (The name we are forgetting) 3. Excellent Location- The location of the property is in Thamel ,the most happening place in Kathmandu The main market of Kathmandu is just few meters away. 4. Excellent Cleanliness- The rooms are quite clean and are by the staff at all times.

The Restaurant at many times during our stay in this property has been found quite over crowded and noisy. Staff looked wanted to serve all of them at the same time, in spite of best available staff..

The strategic location to the best places at Thanel and at the same time away from the hustle and bustle. The room was a dream, beautiful and just the right size for a solo traveler. The bedding was good and the amenities provided were good too. Rahul was especially accommodating and very helpful especially during check in. The door man outside was very friendly and assured I was safe outside waiting to go to the airport.

I wish the breakfast spread was better with more choices.

Staff is so friendly and the breakfast is good. Location is also ideal for business trips or just for a visit around Thamel area.

You can't open the windows. This for me personally is always a big minus. Air conditioned hotel room air tends to be dry and as you can't control the temperature yourself, I would like the option to turn off the air conditioning and open the window instead for some fresh air.

When entering the Fairfield Marriott Kathmandu, I received a warm and friendly welcome. The Kava Restaurant staff, were friendly, I enjoyed the fresh breakfast, their dinner, and professional service given. I am a foreign currency/money collector, the front desk staff worked extra to find me clean and crispy Rupees. Special thank you to Herina Shahi from Kava, and Laxmi, front desk.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I also appreciated the table tennis facilities, which added a fun touch. The location is excellent very close to the city centre and key amenities. If you're staying on the higher floors, the city view is quite amazing as well.

The rooms could be slightly bigger but also was not a problem.

I had initially stayed at another boutique hotel in Kathmandu but opted to switch to this hotel upon my return from a long trek. It turned out to be a fantastic decision. From the moment we entered, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with our trekking bags and offering us drinks. The room, including the shower, was spacious, impeccably clean, and remarkably comfortable. The hotel’s central location provided a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling atmosphere of Kathmandu. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Kava Grill, where the food was excellent, and the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose this hotel again if I were to visit Kathmandu in the future.

Its a Great stay first of all i appreciate the reception teams and other crew members are friendly but these 3 employees are super and moral characters 1) Laxmi 2) Gopal 3) Ishwari ... good works guys ..... next time if our teams visit Nepal and we will book this hotel only also we will recommend our friend and family Fairfield by Marriot only like these experience in my life its first Amazing .... we congratulate all the crew members of Fairfield Marriot... god bless you ....

The room was clean, with great location at Thamel, easily assessible to restaurant, and market place. The hospitality of the staff was really great. Felt at home. Great value. Extraordinary service that goes beyond my expectations. Huge thumbs up for the team.
