I had an amazing experience at Ramada Hotel Thamel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel truly welcome with their warm hospitality and outstanding service. Every detail was taken care of to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with modern amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation after a busy day in the city. One of the highlights of my stay was the well-equipped gym and the beautiful rooftop swimming pool. The gym had everything I needed for a solid workout, and the pool offered a refreshing escape with lovely views of the city—an ideal way to unwind. The location is also perfect—right in the heart of Thamel, close to shops, cafes, and local attractions, yet still calm and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of delicious local and international options. The rooftop restaurant was another favorite—great food and a serene setting. I loved EVERYTHING! From the moment I arrived, every staff member at Ramada Encore was incredibly kind and professional. A special shout-out to the gentleman who assisted me with my bags, the reception team, who patiently helped me with many requests, the lovely ladies at the spa, and the attentive restaurant staff. Their warmth and dedication to excellent service truly made a difference. The facilities are outstanding, exactly what you’d expect from a five-star hotel. The staff at the venue were outstanding, making the experience all the more memorable. While I can’t recall everyone’s names, one person who truly stood out was Pramila. She was exceptionally warm and welcoming, and her attention to detail was remarkable. Her coffee was not just a drink; it was an experience. The way she described her brewing process with such passion and precision made it all the more enjoyable. It’s not every day you come across someone who can turn a simple cup of coffee into a story worth remembering!

I liked how there’s a variety of selection for breakfast. All the staffs I encountered provided excellent service! I loved our room. It felt luxurious and comfortable. We just had a loud neighbor across the room who had people coming in and out of the room, kids running back and forth down the hall and talking so loud that we can hear them all night. Otherwise everything about the room, service was wonderful. I loved how close the hotel was to restaurants and shopping area. I also liked how the hotel was more in a secluded area in the corner. It felt more quiet.

Location being in the main area of Thamel. Big, nice and clean rooms. A nice size roof top restaurant with a small swimming pool. Good range of breakfast. Restaurant area is nice. Spa is available. An adequate small gym, liked it. Immediately available hot water. A hair dressers shop is located near the entrance, super service.⁹

Only a small hitch, there was no slippers. They provided after I said it. Nothing to fault.

My Everest trekking trip had used this hotel as their choice, and I liked it so much. When I extended my stay in Kathmandu, I chose to stay here as well. Great location and very helpful staff. I had some issues with my card, and they were very understanding about it. Offered me various payment options. Great location, with many food options nearby. Pleasure of staying at Ramada and we must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were greeted with warm smiles from the attentive staff, creating an instant sense of comfort and hospitality. It truly felt like a home away from home. It has truly stood out the impeccable service provided by the hotel staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, everyone was dedicated to ensuring our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The room is so big, clean and variety of breakfast. We stays for 2 nights but the breakfast choices are 80% changing between 2 days and good taste in local foods. Stable wifi, easy check in and out.

- The room doesn’t sound proof we can hear everything from the nearby room and in corridor. - Narrow car lane to approach to the hotel. - Electric system always shut down in Thamel zone (not at Patan, Nagarkot) but the hotel has reserved electric system within 10 seconds. - We request for high floor but we don’t get the high floor.

Good location in Thamel with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice view from the rooftop.

Despite booking for 3 persons the system did not automatically include the extra bed which comes with extra cost. It was indicated in the reservation and I was prepared for that. But many people might not be aware if one didn't read every line. The front office manager was considerate in accommodating to our preference. However, coordination between the reception and other departments could be improved. I had to request for the third set of towel, plates and glass more than once before I receive all I needed. If the hotel knows that 3 people will stay in the room, everything should have been arranged accordingly. Breakfast selection has too much carb and veg. Very limited options with meat. Sambar was superb.

Ramada Encore by Wyndham Kathmandu Thamel - This is actually not a property directly owned by Ramada group but a franchisee. Nevertheless, it is a super property. The location is perfect for anyone staying in Kathmandu. Mainly because Thamel is where there are, and am not exagerrating, hundreds of shops, restaurants,bars, pubs, cafes and travel shops. There are several money exchangers too.One can opt to stay aroun 1.5 KM away at Durbar Square which is more upscale - but i would 100% recommend staying at Thamel and more specifically this property because it is at the bang centre of Thamel. The hotel itself, despite being a 5 star property, not very expensive. It is a super value for money. It is situated in Z Street in Thamel. From the outside you wont even make out that this is a 5 star Hotel, but once you are inside, you get the real picture. The rooms are very big (Even the most standard one). All rooms have a balcony which gives you a very good view outside and the bathroom is also very big. Their breakfast buffet is decently large and despite the hotel being full when i visited (It was in the middle of May - so proper Summer Vacation time in this part of the world), we always managed to get place to sit for breakfast. The Security Staff, Reception Staff, The Housekeeping Staff and the cleaning Staff - All of them are very good , smiling and polite. The rooftop swimming pool was very good and despite being cold (Around 16-17 degree Celsius) on the outside, once you are inside the pool, it was very pleasant and not freezing cold as other swimming pools. Although the time of pool use was from 7 AM to 6PM, literally people used the pool right up till 7 and 8PM and no one complained, That was very kind of the staff. We got a room on th 6th Floor, which also had the Gym and Shower Area. The Gym was, empty, most of the times and you could literally use the gym till 10 PM and no one would say a thing. The gym was well equipped and had working instruments and devices.

Few things:- 1) There was electricty disruption (which lasted 15-20 seconds) sporadically. I was told by the reception that this is a known issue in the city. ALthough we were not majorly affected (Or else i would not have given a good rating), surely the hotel association can do something about it and take it to the higher level and get it fixed. 2) The gym cycle somehow was not good enough for a person who is less than 6 feet tall. You need to be that tall to comfortably cycle. Surely they can make adjustment for that as i could not do it. 3) The steam/sauna facility was a paid one. They must make it complimentary for the hotel guests. Or let them use it for 15-20 minutes without charge. 4) The shower area used to get water logged within 3-4 minutes of use. They must make it proper.
