breakkie is very nice although I don't eat a big breakfast so it was really for my family. If you want something smaller they also cater for that without charging the full buffet breakfast so I find that fair and reasonable. If you would like a change of scenery there are places nearby which have nice breakfast offerings but the Des Indes restaurant atmosphere and service is unique and comfortable. We loved our suite and offered the hotel some feedback which they noted. That kind of attention is scarce and another thing that makes us go back only to this hotel when we stay in The Hague. Despite the detailed attention, the hotel is also very discreet and you never feel everyone is watching you.

This is a solid period building so sometimes you might wonder why they positioned the bathroom the way they did but they cannot move internal walls - they are rock solid! I remember the beds being very comfy but found mine a little hard this time - maybe that's just me. The gym is not big and you have to reserve but that's OK, it works well but does not open until 8am on weekends. Otherwise, prepare to go for a run/walk.

Hotel Des Indes is an iconic hotel in The Hague - right at the center of the museum square. It is so beautiful inside and out. The staff is extremely courteous and polite and the atmosphere at the hotel adds to the experience.

Since it is an old and posh Dutch hotel, some of the other guests somehow only expect white people to be around them. As an Indian woman, I found their stares quite uncomfortable. Not sure if the hotel can do something here but definitely an area of improvement.

Great central location in a quiet area. Fantastic decor,. You feel like you really are somewhere special. The lounge and reception areas are gorgeous.

Breakfast was limited and the restaurant only opens Wednesday to Saturday. Not great for 5 star although there are plenty of good restaurants close by. Most of the staff were pleasant bur Valeria at breakfast was surly and unhelpful. Meru on the other hand was smiley and helpful.

Beautiful historical building. The staff was very accommodating, professional and friendly.

We found out too late that the swimming pool had to be booked ahead of time. The shower in my mothers room was a rain shower without a handle, so showering without getting your hair wet was not possible. A shower cap was later brought to the room by reception. These were minor issues and still 100% recommend this hotel!

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were taken care of in the best possible way. We arrived early so we had to leave our luggage and wait for our room to be ready, which was no problem at all, we then sat down in the lounge for a drink, and the waiter was the nicest - we felt so at home right a way! When we got our room it exceeded our expectations with great views, a huge comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Loved it! We also got a bottle of Cava on the house because me and my boyfriend were celebrating our 3 years anniversary! Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer, can't wait to come back and try the spa and the gym. Tip! Forget about expensive hotels in Amsterdam, go to Hotel des Indes instead!

Nothing!

A lovely old-fashioned hotel in the centre of the city. We were impressed by house-keeping staff and with valet parking staff. Beautiful interior of the breakfast restaurant does make up for somewhat erratic service and average breakfast selection.

As it happens it was the Olympics opening ceremony and the only time we would actually watch TV in a hotel room. For such a pricey hotel, the TV was not very good and had a limited number of channels. Small thing but expectations are high in a place like this.

The building was beautiful , the rooms and all areas were lovely and most staff were wonderful. My only complaint would be that we paid for breakfast but were leaving before breakfast service started. We asked for a refund when checking out and were told that we should have organised an early morning breakfast box. We did not know that this was available.

We had a perfect stay. It was the most comfortable bed we ever had in a hotel. A 12 o' clock check-out allows a relaxed morning and the option to use th facilities. The location was perfect.

A small minus is that the hotel offers paid premium wifi. That shoul not be necessary. The free wifi was by the way good enough for us.

The staff were exceptional from the moment we booked. Great attention and eager to please. The Deluxe room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. The free 45 minute access to the spa was also a welcome and relaxing experience (just remember to book in advance!)

Breakfast choice was limited (unless you wish to pay more for extra options on the menu) and so disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel experience. Have had better value breakfasts in similar rated, and sometimes even lower rated hotels. The water was extremely hot in the bathroom so needed to be careful to run cold water immediately so as not to get burnt!

Room was generally clean and the location is perfect. Breakfast was also acceptable but i think perhaps a little fewer staff to service the customers.

Sometimes the break fast table were not timely tidied but staff were quiet energetic and tried thier best to service the clients.
