The Motel is in a good location being a short walk to the restaurants, bars and shops in Coromandel town. The room was very comfortable, however, did not have air conditioning, which could be a problem on really hot nights. There was not an extract facility so strong smelling food could not be cooked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a laundry facility which worked well and there was an undercover drying line, however, the dryer was out of use.

Wifi was poor at best and very spotty, often not being available. I was unable to conduct an internet business call using the motel wifi and had to use my Personal Hotspot.

Couldn't see harbour properly Generally very clean: however, very slight black mould residues in shower and around basin Hot tub out of action due to contamination with oily lotions...not sure how you would get round that in 26 degree heat when everyone is lathered up in sunscreen. Could have been updated with Air Con Fan wasn't great at keeping room cool but better than nothing

Booked this Lodge for two nights during the New Year. Quiet neighborhood, Lodge was fully booked but even during the NY celebrations everyone respected privacy. As you can see in the photos, the vegetation is wild and beautiful. But Lodge is not in the bushes, it has direct access to the main Coromandel road. Great BBQ common zone near the pool. Beautiful if you arrive late and need to prepare dinner and don't want smell on the room. The room also has a small kitchen - ideal for preparing breakfast or something quick (as there is no hood in the kitchen). It is not a brand-new building, so a little bit of mold. But overall room is clean, bedding and towels are fresh and clean. Beautiful nature, sunrise view, birds singing. Quick access to the other side of the Coromandel peninsula. Very good stay for its value. Everything around was far more expensive or worse quality. Every room have a small patio or a balcony. I

Rooms have thin walls, so if you are not so lucky with neighbors, it could be disturbing.

the motel surroundings and buildings were cute, not the usual standard building.We had the (small) pool all to ourselves. Even though there is a road in front it was very quiet. across the road a grassy area. Location was only a walk away from the town. the studio was large enough for the 2 of us, and bathroom also good size. To our surprise , a door out to the back, showed another small seating area surrounded by green shrubs. Out the front also a small deck.

only thing is the tap, I forgot to mention that. Very hard to open and when it does water bursts out! Needs looking at.

Excellent hostess and hosts. Very friendly and helpful, as our first visit to the area they were very helpful in guiding us on great places to visit and eat out at as a family. Very accommodating. Awesome pool and spa. Clean and tidy place to stay. Nice and quiet tranquil. Would definitely come back and recommend.

A really friendly welcome, shown around all the facilities and everything explained. The Unit was spotless and had everything we needed. Perfect to get to everything and lots of information on where to eat and what was happening in town. The pool was perfect

If I have to come up with something, a couple more milks in the fridge, otherwise, don't change a thing!

The Anchor Lodge motel offers a fantastic location near restaurants, making dining out a breeze. The comfort level, especially the bed, ensures a cozy stay. Additionally, its convenience adds to the overall positive experience, making it a great choice for travelers.

Despite its great location and comfortable amenities, the Anchor Lodge motel can be unfortunately noisy at times, especially in the early morning hours, due to some guests forgetting proper etiquette when rising at 4:00.

Lovely cabin, good spa bath

Consider installing a big TV in that big room.The small one is far too small. Needs Usb chargers. We had to go out to the shops to buy a charger. Most places have Usb chargers these days. The bed was not the best considering the money that we paid. Allowance for early book in should be considered.

The unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Very friendly and helpful host. The whole resort appeared to be very well maintained, the gardens were well tended. It was an easy few minutes walk to shops/cafes/restaurants - great location. Would defiantly recommend the place based on my families experience.

Very friendly ownwer who made me feel instatly welcome!. Awesome rooms, very clean and had everything you needed for a short or extendes stay. Spa bath was awesome! Great location, just a couple of minutes walk to central Coromandel town.
