The view, the location and beach were all great, but the facility was not worth the $ 1074 we paid for three nights. We had asked for a ground level executive suite with a spa tub . but instead had to settle for a ground level apartment with no air conditioning and spa tub , and no reduction in the price. All the executive suites are up a steep flight of stairs which my wife cannot negotiate.Our host was very apologetic, and explained because we had booked through Booking .com there was little he could do but offer us the apartment we settled on. We were very grateful and had a lovely stay. Now that we know what to expect we have no problem in booking with Oceanside Motel again as the location is suberb , right across from the beach.

We loved the location-the view! Although there is a road between the property and the beach, it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the spectacular view! The host/manager was MOST accommodating, offering suggestions for local needs like laundromat and things to do in the area.

We stayed during moderate weather and the room was a comfortable temperature. Being able to open front and patio doors provided a nice breeze. But, no A/C in the summer could be a challenge. Breakfast was appreciated; definitely "home-spun." Perhaps fresh pastries from a local vendor, milk and juice in commercial packaging and fresh fruit instead of canned, would be a welcomed upgrade.

Lovely spot right by the beach and an easy short walk into town. Very friendly staff and comfortable stay.

The set up to go from the living room to the bathroom was a little odd, as you went through the bedroom via an open hallway. The bedroom was small but comfortable. For 3 of us for a one night stay it was more than fine and good value - but any longer probably more suited to just a couple.

Decent enough motel room on the Whitianga beachfront within walking distance of town centre. Had all facilities you'd expect at any motel - nothing more; nothing less. Friendly chatty helpful manager. We paid $NZ409/night for an "Exec Suite with Spa & Seaview" which made it the most expensive overnight stay on our 3 week NZ holiday, & we stayed at some far nicer but at waaay cheaper places. Just saying.

Location ideal for a quiet night yet within easy walking distance of the town centre for access to restaurants and ferries. Layout of accommodation good, plenty of space in the living area. Bathroom facilities good. Staff really friendly and helpful and full of local knowledge tips.

A minor point was we felt we could have done with more storage space to unpack our bags as we are travelling on a lengthy trip and it would be nice to empty bags and store or hang stuff up. We stayed two nights and would stay again if coming this way.

Loved the location and great service and excellent location for swimming in the 🌊 sea My husband and I live inland from the coast, and it just was perfect to hear the sea and to experience the weather changing the sea conditions

There is nothing to complain about as it was an excellent service compared to staying in a cabin

Waking up on a fine day, having a coffee outside, with a great view of the ocean, is stunning. Facilities are great with cupboards containing all the plates, glasses, cups, utensils you need for a comfortable few days stay. Tea, coffee, toiletries well stocked. Good selection of TV channels.

Not a dislike, but more of a recommendation. A larger TV in the lounge as it was more a bedroom size and hard to read footy scores etc from a distance.

Amazing. From the moment I walked in to the front room and looked out at the patio windows and saw the waves rolling in, the beach and the scenery I was sold. Sitting outside on the patio, particularly in the evening was great. Lots of space. I was there for a week and would loved to have stayed longer.

The only concern I had was the low water pressure. This however did not cause any concerns for me.

We booked a last minute trip due to a family emergency and wanted to be near the rest home (just over the road). It was perfect in every way. Warm, friendly welcome by staff. Our room was spotlessly clean, recently renovated, spacious with everything we needed. The view is simply spectacular!! We'd definitely stay again.

Very well appointed and serviced units. Ideally located across the road from the beach front to see awesome sunrises even from the ground unit which we were based. Nice area to sit outside from the lounge area in your own private courtyard. A very nice Continental Breakfast(after selecting options to each taste) arrived in the evening for the next day so you're not disturb in the morning which was a great thought. The staff upon arrival and departing (different both times) were great and friendly. We only stayed one night on this trip but looking forward to our return for longer.
