Everything was perfect. The location was out of this world, the view was breathtaking and everything was in walking distance. Two fabulous restaurant just across the street. We do a lot of travel especially NZ and this would be one of the most unusual and the best that we have stayed in. The history of the building and the quirky decore, antiques and fabulous art works are all pluses at this accommodation. We ended up staying for 13 nights, we did not want to leave.

Nothing, everything was perfect. The girls that looked after the accommodation did a 100% job, with love, you could tell there was a family attachment there.

Great setting across from the beach. Short walk to restaurants and cafes. Great welcome. Good facilities, kettle, microwave and mini oven. Lovely walk in shower. Comfortable bed.

Communal balcony with dividers which means no privacy and the opening windows don’t line up with individual balconies. We could hear our neighbours phone conversation at 6am! Lots of drawers but more hanging space needed. 2 coat hangers in the bathroom isn’t enough. A door handle on the inside of the bathroom door would be helpful.

The location of this property is its best asset. It is on the Esplanade opposite the lovely beach with pretty views. The property itself is one house divided into small studios each of which has a private bathroom and small but functional kitchen. It has a small patio and a larger terrace for the use of all guests. Very good bathroom and shower. We used the electric hob to cook and it was great.

I found the room to be very small with no room for our luggage so we had to use the 2 seater sofa to put our bags on. It is also pretty dark in the room. There is only one bedside table and lamp. The other person has no space at all. It was also pretty noisy with the neighbour in close proximity and both sides partying until quite late.

We had a beautiful little room with a view of the ocean just a few steps away from the best fish and chips in all New Zealand. Truly paradise found. We will definitely be back.

We were a little unclear on how to check in and so got a bit nervous when there didn't seem to be anyone around. Instructions from the host would have been helpful. It turned out the doorbell didn't work so we called and someone came immediately. All was well in the end.

Great property located directly on the beach. Staff were friendly, rooms were adorable and had literally everything you needed, lots of hang out areas on the deck. The bed was comfortable and felt new

Nothing! It was a wonderful stay for a night and honestly was probably one of the best ones of our trip. The only thing was that the bathroom door doesn’t fully close/lock due to how it was Reno’d, wasn’t really an issue for us though

We stayed for 2 nights and served our purposes. The unit was not big but had everything we needed, including a well equipped kitchen which was very handy. There is also an outside BBQ for the guests to use. But what stands out is the location, with fantastic bay views and near the town centre.

We had a great stay, however I think the soundproofing could be improved. During the night, when all was quiet, we could hear people snoring in the next door unit and also walking in the unit above us. Also, since the unit was facing the road we could also hear cars passing by.

The location and views were the best part. We were upstairs and loved sitting in the dining area overlooking Buffalo Beach. There was also a nice cafe/restaurant right next door for breakfasts and dinner and was within walking distance to other restaurants, eateries and shops. Nice shower and decor.

The shared sitting area with the wonderful views wasn't that private if people were in next door as there were only screens separating you. This wasn't a big deal though as usually people on either side weren't there when we were.

The Hotel is directly over the road from the beach. There is a big deck off the room overlooking the beach with tables and chairs, I enjoyed my breakfast sitting out in the sunshine each morning. Across the road is the Restaurant Kufe I can highly recommend this. We enjoyed lunch a dinner there. Nana Glads is an easy stroll to the wharf.

Excellent location, right across the road from beach and walking path. Two minutes walk to several restaurants, five minutes walk to main shopping centre or Marina. View from top floor rooms was superb. Decor was eclectic/old world which was fine by us, but some people might expect more modern. Kitchenette had everything you'd possibly need.

We had a four night stay and would have been nice if towels/coffee was replenished halfway through and bins emptied.

Host Kelly was welcoming and helpful. Location was excellent, short walk to cafes and restaurants. The verranda upstairs was cozy and view across the bay was terrific. Quiet location at night. Would highly recommend this place and would stay again.

Nothing really, but if being picky, the room was a bit tight, but verranda space made up for it.
