We had an incredible time at the Atea lodge! The views were spectacular, our room (the entire lodge) was pristine and the breakfasts were delicious. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and also left us the entire deck outside to enjoy the stunning scenery and sunsets. They thought of all the right little things such as fluffy robes, good toiletries, bottle of wine, and snacks. We feel so lucky to have had this experience. Wish I could go back every year!

The owners went out of their way to make eveything perfect. Everything was immaculately clean and of superior quality. The king size bed and pillows were too soft for me but that's just my preference. Outside was just good with spectacular views and a huge deck to relax on and to enjoy the fabulous breakfast supplied by Lynn. After a day out exploring the Coromendal coast it was lovely to come back to the peace of Atea Lodge and play a game of pool in the games room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Atea Lodge. The owners are very nice people and made us feel very welcomed.

Beautiful Lodge up in the woods with a spectacular view over the bay. Very comfortable rooms with cosy beds. Great breakfast, beautiful garden. Probably the most spotless place in Neu Zealand! With the nicest hosts. They really take care and try to make Your stay special. We can recommend this place highly.

This Lodge is stunning. It has incredible views over the tree tops to the sea, the adjoining wrap around deck huge deck is huge and a great place for breakfast and sunsets. The room was incredibly comfortable, and full of the attention to detail and level of fittings you find in a top hotel. Breakfast served was delicious, fresh, homemade and generous. The hosts here are welcoming and professionals who really care about providing the best guest experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend.

Our best accommodation so far during our month long visit to NZ. The room is very well appointed with excellent linen, super modern bathroom with a great shower. The views from the expansive wrap around terrace are to die for. Did I mention the lovely breakfast cooked to order? Lynn & Kelvin were great hosts & I would wholeheartedly recommend.

While it is often possible to find a room that is beautifully decorated, and it is possible to stay somewhere that has spectacular views, we cannot think of another place we have stayed that so perfectly combined these two elements. There is not one thing that we can suggest to Kelvin and Lynne to improve the experience that we had at Atea Lodge, from the gorgeous room, to the amazing views from the wrap-around deck, to the generous and delightful breakfast, this place is 10+++.

Stunning property, the most amazing views from the outside terrace. A little outside Coromandel town, up in the hills, but Sharon's taxi service will drop you in and out of town for dinner. The hosts Lynn and Kelvin were so welcoming, a very comfortable room, great shower, and the breakfasts were perfect- set us up for the whole day. Sitting outside in the evenings was one of the highlights of our trip.

The lodge is situated in the heart of Coromandel Peninsula with great access to hikes and beaches. The breakfasts were superb. The hosts were exceptional, very friendly and offered great hikes, beaches, places to eat and the history of the area. The view from the veranda is spectacular. One of the best places we ever have stayed.

Amazing owners/hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay the best.The house and views are exceptional.The room was very clean, very modern bathroom , good bed and furnishings. The very large balcony had chairs ,lounges ,tables and bean bags to sit ouside and admire the excellent views. The area is separate for each room. The lodge has a very large lounge area for guests and an outside bath for guests. The breakfast can be served on the large balcony or in the breakfast room.The hosts Lynn and Kelvin are the best hosts we have stayed with and we travel very regularly. Unfortunately my husband had hurt his back before we arrived at the lodge and was having difficulty finding a comfortable chair to sit on. Kelvin was so helpful bringing different chairs for my husband to see what suited best and gave him a heated water bottle for his back. Also as happens in travelling the weather on one day was very wild, wet and windy and given my husbands back were we happy to stay in the very comfortable room.In the late afternoon Kelvin came to check that we were ok and given the weather , offered a complimentary homemade pizza and wedges for tea. The food was prepared and set up in our room on a small table. After the dishes have been taken from the room, Kelvin arrived with home made cake. We stayed at the lodge in the King Room Seaview 2

This was our favorite place we stayed in New Zealand. Lynn and Kelvin have thought of everything. We were their only guests so they upgraded us to the best suite. The Manuka Suite was a corner room with two sets of door out to the beautiful porch. Breakfast was delicious and the gardens are beautiful. I highly recommend this beautiful property.
