Judy is an experienced hostess who has worked with tourists for a long time. She gave us excellent advice on where to have the best seafood in Kaikoura (from a beach vendor no less!) and where to go on hikes to see the seal colony and to visit Fyffe House, which was most interesting. So thank you, Judy. Breakfast was also very good with lots of things to choose from.

Back home we sleep in a king-size bed and so a queen size feels a little small by comparison..... But the bed was firm and comfortable!

Stayed in Cottage 2 which had 2 bedrooms and a wonderful verandah where we could sit outside and admire the view. (See photos below) Town Centre was a 2 minute drive away. Easy to find and although on the main highway, was very peaceful and quiet. Classy furnishings and comfortable beds. Didn't want to leave! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and 10 star recommended. Terrific little orange cart down the road opposite Liquorland that has the best fish and chips for $20.

We received an extremely warm welcome from our host, who took the time to go through the local map and give us some recommendations. She checked on us throughout our visit to make sure everything was okay. There was a delicious breakfast ready from early in the morning which was amazing on the day that we did our whale watching. There was a choice of fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, bread and many different spreads to choose from. The location was approximately a 20 minute walk into the main town.

The room was a little noisy from the people above. We could hear floorboards creaking and people walking about above us.

The Brook House B&B was perfect for our stay in Kaikoura! We were greeted by Judy very shortly after we arrived and she gave us a tour of the kitchen/living area, and also some great advice for our stay - she made us feel right at home! The views of the mountains from our room were AMAZING, and the property is about a 4 minute drive into the town centre so you are very close to everything you could need!

This how experience was really good. The lady that runs it ( I think her name was Judy ) was very friendly and welcoming. She explained everything well, and also suggestion's of places to go, areas to walk and restaurants. Things of which we wouldn't of done.

Nothing, As we thought it was good valve for money. We all have different tastes and opinions.

The patio area adjoining our room has the most amazing views into the mountains in the distance, as well as calming green pastures next to the property. Just the view itself made us delay our morning check out a bit to enjoy an extra cup of tea on the patio. Our host is super friendly and gave us good tips on restaurants and to dos in the area. And its more like talking to a friend than a host of a stay.

Breakfast was great, had options of different cereals and bread. The host was great and very talkative and gave lots of information and places to visit or eat.

The host didn't do full induction because 3 sets of people arrived soon after each other.

The room was nice, breakfast yummy and the host was very helpful - as I was travelling with my little one on public transport and the B&B is not in the city centre, she offered to pick us up and dropped us off a couple of times during our extended stay. Very helpful!!! We had a lovely stay!

There is nothing I can think of to say here... even though our whale watching had to be postponed twice due to wind conditions, we were even able to extend our stay and stay in our room!

Cozy bedroom, private bathroom, has a living area with TV and kitchenette but only old movies were available (free on demand). Huge backyard, laundry services and clothesline available for use. My favourite has to be the lovely resident pets. So so so adorable! It is near to many restaurants and is easy to find. Private and quiet environment.

Wifi is patchy

Judy is a super host! Breakfast is cereal, coffee, tea,toast, fruit medley and yogurt. Really nice room. Good hot water and water pressure. Beds pretty comfortable. Plenty of pillows Lots of room nice kitchen in the room. Nice outdoor space. Close to the grocery store

A chest of drawers in the bedroom would be nice
