Moanarua Beach Cottage is a little gem located in a quiet residential area but within a 3 minute walk to the fantastic Ohope beach. Miria and Taroi went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible and their welcome drink upon arrival really was a nice gesture. The breakfast provided by Miria, including home made preserves really was more than we had expected and just perfect to start the day!

Could not fault Moanarua Beach Cottage and would definitely recommend the accommodation to anyone.

The breakfast items went beyond my expectation, so many options and of a very high standard. Including juice and stewed fruit as well as fresh fruit. A great selection of hot drinks as well as jams, preserves and pickles. Taroi and Miria were fabulous hosts, it was like staying with whanau. So welcoming and generous sharing kai, korero and great information about the area.

The hosts first & foremost Miria & Taroi are so accommodating & friendly they made our stay so special, from drinks on the deck, homemade preserves use of their push bikes the location is superb close to beach & other amenities. The cottage is cosy & welcoming & has everything you need.

Not a thing we loved it all

Provided everything we needed during our stay more than I expected and more then I've experienced at other hotels in the past. Miria & Toroi are such nice people & made us feel like we were just staying with whanau. Very beautiful home, atmosphere & people. Loved meeting you both & I hope we see yous next time we are in the area. Also, our 2 toddlers were comfortable especially son running a muck haha makes us happy seeing our babies be themselves outside of home.

That we were there for a reunion/unveiling so didn't get as much time to hang out with the host & enjoy the spa.

Miria and Taroi are outstanding hosts in every respect. Their cottage is lovely and perfectly equipped. The breakfast with homemade jams and chutneys as well as the welcome-nibbles were very yummy. Apart from that, they are happy to share their knowledge about Māori culture and te reo Māori, what we enjoyed a lot.

Very friendly welcome; excellent, quiet location - short and easy walk to ocean beach or to Ohiwa Harbour; tasty Continental breakfast with homemade preserves.

A safety lock on the bathroom window would enable better ventilation at night.

Amazing location, literally a hop, skip a d jump to beach. Quiet spot. Best part was the hospitality of the beautiful hosts! So kind to our son and us! Simple accommodation with stunning hosts & perfect location!

An amazing place to stay and our hosts were so helpful and friendly. Would have loved to stay longer. Well appointed accommodation. The 'starter' pack was an added bonus, excellent quality and very much appreciated 😀

Our hosts Miria and Taroi were exceptional hosts. On the first evening of our 2 night stay they invited us for a drink and nibbles and 3 hours later we were back in our accomodation, they are to be commended as hosts

Fantastic hosts - so warm, welcoming and friendly. Treated like family. Had us to their place for nibbles and wine. Very hospitable. Excellent breakfast. Really appreciated their love and advocacy for Te Ao Maori and Te reo Maori.
