Beautiful renovated old converted bank building from the early 1900s I believe.. Good value.. good size room.. location is perfect and not noisy considering right across the road to the town... Quality hot chocolate..and love the decor (it's the little touches that I like)

I didn't have a chance to ask how the keys work as the same key opens the main door to go up to a shared hallway with about 10 rooms and then the same key also opens your room as well so not sure if everyone can get into your room?.. 2 its abit of work to take all your bags up to your room.. but not a major issue also not much shelving in the small bathroom but other than that near perfect

Rooms were spacious & very clean. Bathroom facilities were ok but lacked spaces/hooks for towels/clothing/ toiletries. They supplied us with a coffee plunger & coffee which was excellent. Location was great & could easily walk to town for breakfast etc.

The bedding was actually noisy! I think there was a rubber type underlay for mattress protection so when you moved/rolled over it was quite noisy. Also, the modern shipping container design included metal stairs from the upper rooms & guests in heels made noise when using.

The facility was nice, clean, and very tidy. the bathroom was amazingly clean 👌🏼. Was just perfect for a wee getaway with the husband. The upstairs pods were very spacious also . The bed was sooo comfortable with crisp sheets and blankets . AC provided comfortability, especially being summer in whakatane, so it was a perfect stay . Thank you to the Com staff for making sure the rooms are immaculate and the lovely ladies at reception x The wee Whittakers chocolates 🍫 are such a bonus also . Thank you

Nothing i could say I didn't like possibly more milks and bottles of water other than that the stay was perfect .

Have stayed before, so only stayed there a second time as we knew it was clean, tidy and you feel safe staying. Plus staff are fantastic. Overall a great easy place to stay with good parking and really nice clean and fresh rooms.

The only thing I'm not that fussed about is not having a small sink near the kitchen, as it feels weird having to go to the bathroom to clean dishes etc. Sadly eating next door at the 'Commercial Hotel' was a massive let down - we had been there a couple of years before, however the new owner are doing it a massive disservice, so time for them to look at critical feedback and sort it out or loose customers!

Took our breakfast with us. It has only been built for 4 years and is new. The location was excellent a short walk to the main street. The Com is attached to the Pub the Commercial Hotel so could pop in for a drink or a meal if you liked. The building design was quite different with separate motel rooms(almost a tiny home) separated by empty garages on two levels Our room had lovely afternoon sun. Plenty of parking and space. Built in front of the big rock cliffs of Whakatane and the Tuis were very busy in the bush in the morning - lovely.

Loved the room - second level in original part, shower and a stunning builing. Amazing photo's in the hall.

The times need to be changed in info book as breakfast downstairs was not correct. Different business and only open from 11. (Dinner there was excellent) also look out wasn't very exciting. Vacant section but could see the street. Band played downstairs which first night was more noise, but decided to join in on second night which was great.

Great motel, this was my third stay here and will always book to stay here only in Whakatane. Nice and new, plenty of parking and in top location. Great facilities.

This time the only improvement would have been one of the shower wash containers was empty and not refilled, and hair on shower wall. All the other stays has been immaculate.

Awesome accommodation, beautiful set up room with all the amenities. Nice view during the day. Close to cafe's, restaurants and easy to find. The host was so attentive to us as we had booked last minute and he waited for us to check in past the check in time. Very welcoming. Rooms were beautifullly presented

The bathroom was a bit of a tight fit, but the shower pressure was good and the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner was generously available.

The staff were very friendly, the cleanliness of the room was amazing. We also had our room serviced and it was so great to walk back into our room with our bed made, fresh towels and they also restocked our cookies (which was greatly appreciated ☺️).

The bed was quite uncomfortable. We were in the ‘DAN’ room and we noticed that there was a camera on the newer units across from us pointing directly into our room(which we didn’t appreciate as we had our curtain shut most of our stay because of this). On our second night there was a lot of noise and racket coming from the other rooms, even with the bar below you couldn’t hear them but the other guest were very loud during our second night.

Very convenient location. Very clean. Lovely, helpful staff. Loved the sash windows open for fresh air. Surprisingly quiet. I stayed in the old side of the com plex, which has been nicely modernised. Enjoyed my stay.

Bed was a little hard for my liking. Good for a night but 4 nights was too much for this princess. Bathroom was too small. A small desk would have been helpful as it was a work trip.
