Our rooms appeared to have been recently renovated and were spotlessly clean. The accommodation was much superior to what we expected from a small rural motel. Our host was very welcoming and good with advice about local activities, shops, etc. The location is very convenient as the motel is next to a park at one end of the main street. The town itself is picturesque, sitting at the foot of the local mountain, and is quite interesting, having a few quirky shops and some remarkable metal sculptures. We found it easy to drive between Te Aroha and Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua. Although breakfast was not included, there were several good early-opening cafes within less than a 5-minute walk. There are also options for dinner including an Indian restaurant, pizza shop, pub, etc.

Traveling for work, with my tool trailer which is vital for what I do. The hosts could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Te Aroha is perfect location for my clients in the Thames, Coromandel areas, plus the Matamata areas, so I will be back... The room was very tidy and up to date, great ceiling fan for the warm nights as I don't like too much air con. Great having the supermarket across the road, and easy walk to cafe's and restaurants. Neat little town, look forward to having a bit more free time there some day with my better half!

Having to be there on a working trip!

Check in was very easy, we really appreciated that they stayed past regular reception hours to facilitate a 1.5 hr later check in! As for the actual accommodation, it was clean, tidy well presented rooms. Useful verbal information about the property (inc. wifi code), how to operate switches/ buttons for different appliances and things to do in Te Aroha; the unit had a lock on the door. I had to really reach for something that could have been improved because realistically it had everything I’d need for a short stay… could maybe do with moisturiser (I always pack this anyway)

Firstly ,the motel host Robyn is delightful- amiable, helpful, friendly and courteous. Robyn also provided superb restaurant recommendations. Our motel unit was modern and bright and well-equipped. It is located right in the middle of town with shops , restaurants and mineral spa pools all within a very short walk .

There was nothing to dislike about the motels - they are top quality accommodation. However , as we joined up with our two friends ( also staying at the motel)!for breakfast and morning tea ., one more cup and a couple more bread&butter plates would have been handy.

The owner was incredible, kind, and very helpful. The family unit was small in size. The beds were so gorgeously comfortable. The staff were lovely. We asked for something to cook with, which they were very prepared for, but if I had been too polite, I would not have known I could cook in my room. The draws in the bathroom kept coming out on their own accord, and we had to shut the doors hard for them to close properly. There are a few handyman jobs that need to be seen to. In saying this we had a FANTASTIC HOLIDAY - one to remember.

Beautiful, comfortable and clean. My partner and I travelled from Auckland to Te Aroha for a birthday, the motel had half the birthday party and the holiday camp had the other half. The host/s of this motel were a blast, the husband made us feel at home as soon as we entered the office. My mother in law and sister in law were in an upstairs room, my partner and I in a downstairs one. My mother in law was having trouble getting up the stairs to her room. Luckily, the host was showing me to my room at that very moment, as soon as he saw this he immediately offered to swap their room, upon hearing this, I asked to swap my room with them? Without hesitation the host allowed it, never has this ever happened to us, not quick and stress free. We were very thankful indeed. The beds are amazing. I recommend you stay here when visiting Te Aroha

The Motel is centrally located; convenient to have a Woolworths straight across the road. My room was spotless, extremely clean and spacious with all the amenities needed for a short or long stay (heat pump; ceiling fan; wardrobe; drawers; ironing board and iron; cutlery etc). Your bathroom towels are changed daily! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the heavy drapes in the room when closed made the Unit dark and cosy. Though situated on a main road, the sheer curtains provided privacy for when the drapes were open. Rob & Glenys were wonderful hosts; very hard working, super friendly and accommodating.

This motel is in a great location, with easy access from SH2, local shops across the road & a couple of restaurants for simple food within a few minutes walk. We ate at the Indian restaurant, which was excellent with most accommodating staff. The room had everything we needed for a one night stay & the bed was comfy & clean.

The walls are very thin & you can hear every sound from the other rooms. Having said that all the other visitors were very respectful & quiet.

Beautiful little town, quiet but with things to do. Motel is really clean and serviced daily which is a bit unusual these days! Lovely staff. Good value for money. Really close to shops, cafes, the geyser, the domain and pools. Bed is comfortable.

Not a complaint as such but an observation for those with back issues- there was no couch in our room. There were 2 chairs but they were sitting at a desk directly underneath the TV. So we had to sit on the bed which isn't super comfortable when you're there for a few nights. Not a deal breaker though as it's a lovely place.

Loved the hostess - lovely and a really character. She gave us loads of good advice about our stay including where to go for dinner (The Duck. & Cover, try it, you won't be disappointed). We are smitten with The Aroha and she was a mine of information. Also loved the two little dogs. Nice comfy bed. Cosy unit with everything we needed. Right next door to the Hotpools which we didn't have time to try this time, but we will be back.

Water for showering was luke-warm in the morning.
