The proprietor was so nice, warming up our room as we were arriving late. The room was spacious and clean. Lovely decor, lighting, bedding, kitchen and bathroom utilities. Clean, clean, clean, decor current and regular maintenance obvious. Large carpark spaces, nice little front patio with table and chairs, even complimentary robes to use!! Lovely big comfortable beds with plenty of pillows, and nice bed linen and quilts. A couple of comfy lounge seats and a table and chairs for dining. Beautiful lighting features and plenty of power points for phones etc. I would certainly book again for another time visiting Matamata. We loved our accommodation, can you tell? Thank you so much. Despite the crispy cold mornings, each day was great weather to match our motel!

Location was excellent for Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves visit! We could walk to a lovely (and very yummy) coffee shop each morning and a fun brew pub at night. There were other restaurants on the street, but one was having a private party and another was fully booked. If you’re looking for super luxury travel vibe, it’s very hard to find in this area, my friend who is a pretty posh gal was a bit worried. However the Broadway Motel was IMMACULATELY clean, spacious, and very welcoming. We both were very please and highly recommend it!

The self contained unit was really beautiful, well designed and furnished with a very nice outlook over a grassed common area. The kitchenette was very well equipped for three and the quality and condition of the linen was excellent.

We had a slight hiccup with the booking and found the last remaining room with a spa had been allocated just before our arrival. The owners were very apologetic about that, but we were able to use the central spa house, which was very nice.

Fantastic kids play area. Clean and tidy room which was a good size. I recommened this to a lot of hotels as it seems to be a reoccurring thing. But the single bed for kids in family rooms where there are beds near living and kitchen areas should be in bedroom. So you can get the kids to bed and stay up and watch TV and use the living areas while they sleep.

The pool has very sharp and uncomfortable edges and steps. Especially the kids one. Watch your children when splashing around. My son got a few scratches and grazes. It was very expensive Unfortunately our fridge wasnt working properly so we couldnt keep things cold or frozen..

The owners of the property were so incredibly friendly and helpful - firstly allowing for an early check-in at 12pm, and then with every in person interaction that followed. Our villa was absolutely gorgeous, very modern and clean, and exceeded expectations, with a huge bathroom that made getting ready for the wedding I was attending a breeze, seperate bedroom and living room space and a great sized kitchenette with everything you might need. The location was a real highlight, right on the Main Street which was perfect for a bottle of wine and a bite to eat, and it was only a 3 minute walk to the I-Site for Hobbiton pick up.

Genuinely couldn’t fault it - one of the best stays we’ve had in a long time! Only wish we could have stayed longer.

beautiful spacious room with everything you need,. nice size pool even for a couple of laps whole playground for young kids if yoi have them. . 15 min from Hobbiton where we had a evening program.

nothing.. only a tip: the kitchen cupboard doors need silent close buttons... neighbours in rooms next door kept putting things in and out cupboards all night and early in the morning, the doors slam close.

The room was sparkling clean and with lots of thought put into additional items such as toasters etc. The location was fantastic, we were coming from Hobbiton by car and it was about 20 minutes drive, and close to shops and restaurants. There was a lovely big garden for kids, and a clean pool, which we didn’t use, but it looked lovely.

An extra shelf or some hooks in the bathroom would be good, as there wasn’t much space to put toiletries, but that was a very minor detail.

We loved our stay at Broadway Motel. We got a free upgrade to one of the Villa's. It was a home away from home. Totally immaculate, with plenty of space and privacy. The host was exceptional, she was so helpful and welcoming.The location was perfectly situated near the main town and near all the shops and cafés.

Nothing, I would just stay longer

One of the best motels we stayed in our trip to NZ north island - very clean and modern -Everything was perfect and Spotless clean - Location perfect all restaurants and shops nearby .. quiet and peaceful area .. Parking at the motel was also very convenient and easy -- Hobbiton just 20 mins away Me and my family loved our stay in Matamata and in Broadway motel - I loved the small down of Matata - should've stayed more nights !

There was nothing we did not like

The size of the room, location, and staff were all excellent. A real stand-out for us was the large grass play area in the yard. It was well maintained and had everything a child could want- trampoline, bikes, soccer balls with goal. We also loved being able to walk to restaurants and markets, and the proximity to Hobbiton.

We wished the hotel offered breakfast, as the options were limited in the area.
