My family & I recently stayed at Tower Road Motel in Matamata and had a fantastic experience! The motel staff was friendly and accommodating, especially as we had our autistic child with us and he was not wanting to be in a car & was overwhelmed, the motel staff allowed us to check in early which we really appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable, warm on arrival as heater was turned on, beds were also warm and the location was convenient and quiet at night so you get a good nights sleep. The motel exceeded my expectations in terms of value for money. The bed was comfy, the shower had great pressure, the night lights were perfect and the free Wi-Fi was a bonus. I also appreciated the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I would highly recommend Tower Road Motel to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable place to stay while visiting Matamata area.

That we had only a short stay- if we visit again we will definitely stay longer

Andy was a very nice host. The room was very clean and it has all the things one would need for a short or long stay like fridge, microwave, utensils, etc. The beds were well made and comfy and everyone had a good rest. The shower has good water pressure and the water's temperature was easy to control. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and colleagues who would visit Matamata. It was a last minute booking but Tower Road Motel was able to accommodate us. It was easy to find. When we arrived we knew what we had to do to find our room. Our room was quiet, clean and just right. We were a little late checking out the next morning, but the staff were very nice by letting us check out a little later than usual. All in all a great overnight experience.

Nothing really ... I am a bigger person so a larger towel would have been nicer, but that's just my preference. There was nothing wrong with the supplies that were in the room.

Very friendly welcome. Thoughtful to have turned on the heatpump in anticipation of our arrival. Very easy to find, great location with easy access. Lovely sized unit (main room had 2 single beds, separate room had a Queen sized bed). Kitchen was well stocked with pots/plates/utensils etc. Good water pressure in the shower. Comfortable and clean bedding. Will definitely stay again!

Bathroom sink is old style, very low. Possibly could be modernised.

Isla was amazing to deal with, nothing was an issue and the charge for washing and drying our laundry was a lot less than using the laundromat. The room was remarkably quiet and we managed to utilise the back play area regularly

Nothing to complain about with Tower Road

This little gem of a place was exactly as described. It has everything you need for a short or long stay. It was quiet and well equipped. The beds were very comfy and we didn't want for anything. It was also located in a great position for us to get to Hobbiton which was our main reason for staying in Matamata

The owner is super friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. It had everything we needed for our stay even extra sachets of coffee and sugar which I was happy for because other places just give you one or two and I love a strong coffee so need more than one packet 😃

Friendly staff and clean facilities, we enjoyed our stay over easter weekend. Close to shops and restaurants, handy and close to visiting other town's. Generally we thought it was a comfortable stay and relaxing. We will definitely come back down to matamata again.

I absolutely loved the way the manager handled my stay, top tier guy made the stay a lot more pleasant. He treated everyone with respect & took me in on short notice. Definitely a diamond, I could say many more great things about him an absolute gentleman!

Everything was good

Location. Cleanliness. Comfort. Plenty of space and hosts helpful and friendly. Would have rated higher if not for location of bathroom basin. Shower pressure was wonderful and bed very comfortable.

Would have preferred the bathroom basin separate from the kitchen area. Was okay for an overnight stay for a couple but probably not great for longer.
