This is an amazing place to stay. On arrival, we were greeted by Alby who was super friendly and showed us to our room via the beautiful tropical gardens. It really felt like we were on a tropical island resort. Our room was the highest on the property and the view was incredible. The chalet had everything we needed, was super clean and the bed was sooooo comfortable, both my husband and I had a fantastic sleep. We had planned on going out for dinner but the view was so good that we decided to eat on the deck and spent our evening watching the sun go down with our complimentary nightcap. Thanks guys, we are definitely coming back!!

The cottages are perched on a hill overlooking the Firth of Thames on a beautiful property. Lots of windows let you enjoy the view and we also had a private deck area. The room was not large, but comfortable, with a small fridge. Access to a pool, which we did not use. Owner was very helpful and welcoming.

We needed to drive into town for dinner, which was not a problem for us, but if you want to walk to town/restaurants this wouldn't work for you. A lot of steps to get to the room, so if you have accessibility issues, this would be a problem.

We had a great time here at what was the start of our trip to the Coromandel. We were met by Alby, a more friendly, helpful person you are unlikely to meet. The room was well lit and large enough to spread out and resort our bags from the flights. The view from the window was wonderful, and sitting in the hot tub and reading on the deck made for an enjoyable stay. Although it did not cause us any problems, (and I am over seventy), be aware that the property is near the top of a steep hill, and there are a few steps to the different chalets.

Our group of 4 adults rented 2 cottages. Each cottage had a wonderful view over Thames and the water. The rooms were quite small and the kitchen facilities were minimal, but we enjoyed having snacks on the deck during sunset. The bathroom in our cottage was on a different floor than the bedroom, which was tricky in the middle of the dark night. We enjoyed hikes in the area and the museum in the Thames School of Mines.

We arrived just in time for the stunning sunset views and the very friendly host Alby was there to greet us and he is very helpful and he even left us some delicious liquor to try. We were in chalet number 3 and the views were stunning, the bed comfortable and there was plenty of space. We booked an extra night as we loved it.There are plenty of places to eat or get take away food just 5 minutes away, the fish and chips were superb, the best we’ve had.

Alby and family were lovely and thoughtful hosts. Room was well equipped with everything you could need, and we got upgraded for free to one with a lovely balcony that looked out over the whole town. It was the small touches too that showed they really value hospitality, like leaving us some biscuits to have with our tea and leaving the blinds lowered for us so that we didn't arrive to a blisteringly hot room.

What a gorgeous place this is and the view was awesome! The room was fantastic, clean and spacious, you felt like you were tucked away from the world! It was lovely and quiet and the little touches like the chocky biscuits and yummy “night cap” was wonderful. Alby was a lovely host, friendly and a wealth of knowledge about the best coffee places in town! Definitely worth a stay here in Thames.

Loved the location above the town with a great view of the Firth. Lots of trees on property so was good for bird watching and peaceful. Owner Alby was very friendly and welcoming. Simple continental breakfast was 12.50 extra person and just ok. Would suggest bringing your own.

Maybe an option for a more substantial breakfast with hard boiled eggs. Would be nice to have something like that for lactose intolerant folks.

Albi the host was so warm and welcoming getting us settled quickly and comfortably given the horrible weather. The cottage itself was spacious, warm and well equipped.

Unfortunately it was a really windy night and we found the room to be very noisy listening to creaking noises and trees. We didn’t sleep particularly well. I’m sure we would have had a great stay if the weather was good. That’s on us for travelling in winter though.

Views are great, Rooms clean, fresh, neat and tidy. Bed was good - comfortable with just right level of support. Alby was really helpful and friendly. Didn't get to use the pools and the swimming pool was under maintenance (that's a good thing) but the facility looked good. Amenities in the room were on par with price point. Definitely on my return list :)

Only quibble we had (both retired) is the stairway in our unit would have been better with a banister/handrail in the middle (both sides).
