The view over the harbour and marina, which was full of game- fishing boats, was exceptional. Especially in the morning with the sun illuminating the small island in the middle of the bay. No grocery store, but only a 15 minute drive to Kaeo. The Game Fishing Club, opened at 5pm and had an extensive range of food and drinks. Highly recommend the "beef nachos". The driveway to the motel was very steep, we needed to drive to the club even though it was at the base of the driveway.... Our hosts, Judy and Craig, were very informative about the district and also a very friendly couple

Great private, peaceful location. Handy for our Whānau reunion at Te Touwai marae to bring my Mum and Aunty back for a comfortable safe sleep on a good bed :-) Judy and Craig - thank you for being great friendly hosts.

Not wanting to bring a downer to a great stay but there were a few cockroaches crawling about the little stove, sink area. Noticed at night and early morning when making a cuppa. Nothing that wasn’t fixed with a hot, soapy wipe down.

You can take your own breakfast or all meals as there is a fully stocked kitchette provided. An outside undercover big kitchen area & barbecue lounging area is also available. I loved the location & the glorious views from this clean & tidy, comfortable unit plus the handiness to the restaurant across the road. The hostess Judy was most welcoming, very friendly & helpful..her & Craig have this place running well & it looks cute with the garden seating areas. I was even able to pick some parsley for mussel fritters I made!!

Nothing not to like as far as I'm concerned. Nothing can be perfect about places to stay unless you're paying the huge prices then you'd expect it to be.

Our time in Whangaroa with Judy and Craig would appear to be carbon copy of everyone else's. Warmly welcomed, included in a quiz night at the local fishing club (heaps of fun and new friends made) and lots of helpful information about what to see in the gorgeous location of Whangaroa. Our visit here will always be a highlight of this holiday.

the view from the hotel is amazing. when we arrived, we were greeted and welcomed by Judy. We had a very large room with everything you need for a lovely stay. The highlight, however, were the incredibly valuable tips and advice from Judy and her husband. We have travelled a lot, but we have never received such personal (and handwritten) advice and tips for our trip. We can unreservedly recommend a stay there!

Absolutely absolutely nothing

great location above the harbour with magnificent views from all units. The hosts (Judy and Craig) were knowledgeable about the area and gave us great ideas for our stay. They were extremely helpful and accommodating (and relaxed). The units are all being refurbished to a high standard and are therefore very clean and comfortable. AND they provide proper milk (not UHT sachets) and good sized mugs! :)

This is a stunning location with amazing views over the bay, perfect to enjoy the sunset. Everything is spotlessly clean and Judy is an amazing host. A bonus is that the fishing club with restaurant is just a short stroll away. We highly recommend this place, it’s magical!

Our Hosts were very welcoming on arrival and very friendly throughout our stay. Absolutely superb views. Great rooms and facilities. Highly recommended.

View over the harbour was magnificent. Really close to the only restaurant in town. Staff very friendly with a wealth of local knowledge.

I regret not booking for more nights. There is plenty to see and experience in this small town.

fabulous room, it looked like it had very recently been decorated, lovely bright art on the walls. The room was big and bed was huge, comfortable seating, with great views from the balcony. The owners were friendlyOne of our best stays in a month of travel.
