Spectacular location on beautiful Coopers Beach. Love eating outside at the provided table with sun umbrella. Just a few steps down to the beach for a swim, a long walk, or a read in the shade of the pohutakawa trees. Always enjoy having a coffee or meal at nearby Mangōnui Harbour. For a cheapish but cheerful dinner on a Fri or Sat night go to the Coopers Beach Bowling Club. For a more trendy experience try the Whisky and Wine Bar. Our favourite is the Thai Restaurant.

Nothing I didn't like. As we know from previous stays, the accommodation is quite dated but it's clean and has everything we need.

We have stayed at San Marino a few times before. Coopers Beach is exceptional and the hotel is situated on the beachfront so location couldn't be better. The big draw for us is that we can stay there with our miniature poodle. This stay we were told that we should advise in advance if we have a pet as there have been some renovations (I assume they are putting people with pets in the less flash rooms) Fortunately they were able to accommodate us and pooch at short notice. Not the flashest units but good value for money.

The absolute beachfront location, beautiful safe sandy beach, beach walking to cafe every morning, glorious dipping in the ocean, sunsets. Also liked the hot water closet for towel drying

Floor was so uneven, sloping into the front corner, that we kept stumbling and falling over. Walking about the unit was a dizzying experience Kitchen stove was difficult to master, being old fashioned hotplates. Some basic utensils .missing. Frosted glass pane between bedrooms meant that at bedtime guests couldn't operate independently without disturbing the other. Light from one bedroom shone through to other. 2nd bedrooms only external window opens directly into next unit's front door space! - little privacy to this dark room No sound insulation between units, was awakened by next door unit's late night phone call, could hear every word Could do with some sort of umbrella on balcony

Property is 20m from the beach at the northern end. Water was warm and great for swimming at high tide.The sunsets were wonderful.

The room was comfortable but is a little dated. The shower was not great as the water pressure was very low. We thought the bed could have been turned to face the double door and the beach view, nice in the morning.

Being able to take a few steps and just being on a fabulous beach is priceless. Safe swimming just out from motel. They have lots of dishes you can use to make meals. It is like staying in a 1950s bach and the floor slopes down and it is quirky, but very clean. Plus they allow pets, so our dog enjoys the stays as much as we do.

Nothing, was perfect for our needs.

We loved this place. Right on the beach we had perfect views of the sea. Very clearly an older much loved building, well worn and a little tired, but in the way of old slippers or an old friend. There was nothing we didn't like. The staff were lovely.

If your 3 person is an adult, the bunk bed mattress is a little thin. We used two together for extra comfort

Absolute 10/10 for the view....loved it. Just what was needed to unwind after being on the road for many hours. And a dip in the ocean is very soul cleansing

The bathroom was small and dated. Climbing into the shower is good for those that are long legged and abit of a miss for the short Also, took abit of getting used to walking slightly downwards but that view certainly made it redeemable

It's all about location, location, location here!. The beach is right in front of the motel. It is dreamy. The newly decorated room I had added to the fantastic holiday vibe. I could have stayed a week here! The owner, Tania is the perfect host, offering valuable insights about local walks and places to visit.

My only minor gripe was the soft mattress on the bed. My major gripe is that I had to leave and go back to real life!

Absolutely what we were looking for. Close to a beautiful beach, lovely Motel unit, friendly host, amazing Cliff top walks, safe swimming, colourful sunsets and wow the sound of the ocean all night was so peaceful. Loved the Motel and location.

We could only stay for a week. Duty called.

Relaxed vibe. Exceptional staff, including cleaners. Stunning beachfront location. Spacious grassed area between units and beach, with chairs & picnic tables. Comfortable room and outside seating. Parking with space for kayak.

Wished we could have stayed longer.
