Location is perfect, lovely view from the beautifully maintained garden. Right opposite from 4square (mini-supermarket), takeaways and pub. Great unit, comfortable beds, immaculately clean, fully (and I mean fully) equipped kitchen (even had proper wine glasses). Great blockout curtains.

The only thing that was not perfect was the closeness of the road, which produced quite a noise early in the morning when the trucks went by to the nearby building site. Also, the glass panel on the entrance door could have a blackout blind or something as the rising sun rose right into the room. But these are really only minor issues, far outweighed by the fantastic features of the property.

Property very good value. Great location for half day trip to Cape Reinga Lighthouse and to look at Sand Dunes to the north. Receptionist/Manager was very helpful and accomodating. Restaurant and shop literally just across road Bed very comfortable - great nights sleep

We went to bed early - still not got our body clocks into New Zealand time - but chap in next room to us talked extremely loudly whether in room or outside. We actually ended up though having great nights sleep in the end

Location - 30m away from a great view of the bay. Perfect base for heading up to Cape Reinga and the beaches along the way. The guy on reception gave us some good advice on where to go and what to expect! -Access and parking - plenty of space in the carpark. Reception to get a key, but watch out because they close relatively early. I’d call if you are gonna be there after they close. -Restaurants - 4square, pub and takeout opposite- though they closed around 7pm. We went to the takeout, it was good basic food. There is also a container pie and ice cream shop about 1km north for morning / afternoon. Would recommend. -WiFi speed - 38 mbps down and 10 mbps up -Bed - comfortable enough. -Noise levels - on the main road but it's a quiet main road, especially at night. -Temperature - comfortable, with little heater in the cupboard and a heat lamp in the bathroom if needed. -Shower - basic, but does the job consistently. -Overall comments - basic, but perfectly adequate for a few days.

Awesome place to stay! Right across the road there is a cafe, takeaways, four square ( corner store, dairy ect ) that has everything you need with the best hot chips I've ever had! There's also a liquor store and bar/cafe. We were greeted in the morning with beautiful sun rises and then magical night skies filled with stars. The amenities are great, with a pool and an outdoor BBQ, we used this the first night and had a great feed, purchasing our groceries from across the road and if you don't feel like cooking, a 2 min drive down the road is the best pies and real fruit ice cream. This truly felt like a summer holiday and the lodge is very family friendly , thank you to the staff for an awesome stay and we can't wait to come again.

Great location to explore up to Cape Reinga. Very friendly and informative and helpful greeting on arrival. Local friendly restaurant and bar with good food just across the road. Plus well stocked grocery next door

We were located in the outside/ roadside chalet, which felt a bit exposed. Also, we were probably unlucky that touring fishermen in the adjoining room were up at 5.30 and were quite noisy. The inside chalets may be more private and quieter.

Staff was helpful, place was clean and room was available early. The location is ideal to visit Cape Rainga. Rawawa Beach and Sand Dunes are a must see in the area. Also Honeybee paui pie and ice cream are divine.

A few lounge chairs by the pool would be nice. Hair dryer is only available at the front desk. No milk for the coffee. Minor details.

Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Location is great with seating areas provided with a stunning view over the bay. Right across the road from a pub serving good food, a liquor shop and supermarket so ideal for a short stay in the area.

Interior is pretty basic and dated but didn’t spoil our stay.

The location was great, and handy that it's right by a shop and a couple of eating outlets. The room was clean and spacious with a lot of storage. My son enjoyed the pool and have to say, the receptionist was very good at explaining what was on offer locally and at the motel.

It would have been nice to have a sofa just when watching TV for something to lean back on. Although I understand extra beds for bigger whanau.

I really enjoyed my stay - the suite was clean, comfortable, with free wifi and a small kitchenette - had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Right opposite the pub and shops so that made dinner arrangements easy. While it's located on the main road, I didn't find it troublesome to sleep. The management arranged for a late check in for me with no fuss, which was really appreciated.

Perfect location for our next day trip up to the Cape. Lovely views from the picnic tables on the hill and enjoyed a couple of dips in the pool. Only negative was there are not any chaise lounge chairs to lie out on at or around the pool. Handy access to a Cafe and stores across the road. Staff very nice. 90 mile beach access was close by and also a must see!!
