The Acacia motel is an absolute gorgeous gem! Kudos to the owners. The view is stunning, and the place was very quiet and peaceful when we stayed. The pool is awesome! It makes the place extra special, I reckon, who doesn't love a pool, also, the sun heats the water so, you could sit in it all day if you wanted to. Our hosts were so lovely and easy to chat to. We were given an upgrade, and our lovely cozy room, #8, was just perfect for the two of us. Yes, a basic room, but it was clean, smelled, and looked amazing upon first arrival. The bedding was fresh and smart looking. Also, thank you so much for accommodating us with our vehicle. We appreciated it! Last but not least, the wee little Mongonui town is just a hop skip n jump to get to by car or walking, so another great reason to stay there. We ate at the fish n chips takeaway 2x, the one in the corner by hotel, mmMMM.. THANK you to the Lil whānau running it. You guys gave us wicked meals. We will definitely be back!

It has everything a Motel should have: nice linens, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with great water pressure, adequate kitchen, decent internet, great view from the balcony, fabulous service and staff and a friendly welcome! I watched the proprietor clean the pool every morning and "put it to bed" in the evenings. The owners are clearly conscientious and interested in their new investment!

There was nothing we didn't like; in fact we stayed one more night than intended because we were so comfortable!

Being able to access a ground floor room was a great advantage for us. The room was fresh, clean and tidy. The staff were very accommodating with our request.

It would be beneficial if the small fridge was a little higher off the floor for easier access to those older customers. The bed was very warm and comfortable but found it a bit bouncy when the other partner moved.

The apartment was incredibly spacious, with full kitchen, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms, nice and clean throughout. Huge pool for swimming, sea across the road, lovely interesting host who was incredibly fun to talk to, who recommended lovely short walk by the beach to restaurants, super cute small place with lovely locals, fantastic change from the hustle and bustle of large city. Lovely Coopers beach within short walk. Great parking. Lovely palm trees. Very relaxing. Much better to stop here when driving to Cape Reinga within one day from Paihia.

room was a little dark and damp but over all very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed , and I believe new owners are slowly doing them up

Check-in was easy and we were welcomed with a great smile on arrival. Owner was very nice and helpful. Room had a full fridge and oven which was great. Lots of good kitchen utensils so cooking in your room was easy peasy. Room was very clean. Pool looked amazing, just didn't have time to use it. Great value for money, definitely.

Acacia Lodge is located close to the Cruising Club, local bars, the pub and cafes. Located in a gorgeous waterfront position. Peaceful and quiet. Pool was inviting and outside areas were tidy.

Parking was extremely tight but nothing can be done about that. Just be aware that a large vehicle would be difficult to get in and out. It was a little tired, but there was nothing terrible about it. It was adequate for our needs and pleasant enough overall.

We loved the view was very quiet and peaceful environment the suite was beautiful and well cared for nice and tidy .Definitely would like to come back again

Room with good circulation space; very comfortable bed. Comfortable easy chairs.

Very challenging for self-catering: microwave and toaster only; minimal bench space; mini mini fridge; no table and chairs for eating a meal (except for small metal ones on the balcony in the rain).

Very Clean, open plan studio style.

Was very cold, being mid winter, but no heater or fan in bathroom, no heated towel rail was noted. Radiant heater in Living space only heated if you sat in front of it. Bed was comfortable and had electric blanket.
